Re: Nintendo Won't Say Whether Switch OLED Joy-Con Fixes Drift, So Don't Count On It

DrDaisy

@SuperWeird I have to admit you do kind of have a point. Not sure how applicable it is in this case though since if they weren't detachable (like the Lite model), drifting sticks would mean having to replace the whole system instead of just essentially one half of a full controller. I wish someone would make a high-quality left Joy-con with a D-pad that also has vibration and its own rechargeable battery though. I'm tempted to by the one one that resembles a GameCube controller just for its left Joy-con.

Re: Talking Point: Why Metroid Dread Will Be Worth $60

DrDaisy

I was more excited about this game before I found out it has the Nemesis aspect. Having an invincible enemy stalking me just makes the experience frustrating. It's partly why I pretty much gave up on Fusion and didn't invest much in Resident Evil 3. I did play a lot of Alien Isolation and finish Amy Rose's parts of Sonic Adventure though.

Re: Halo Dev Says It Would Be "Amazing" To See Master Chief In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

DrDaisy

Does every single character in a Smash game (aside from the 7 Koopalings because they're pretty much swaps of Bowser Jr) get an Amiibo? It would be really weird to see Master Chief get one.

Other MicroSoft-affiliated characters I want to see in Smash Bros. are B. Orchid and Joanna Dark. I know the odds of that happening are slimmer than Calista Flockhart's waistline, but as long as we're talking about longshots... Adding Perfect Dark would make more sense so she can face off with Solid Snake.

Re: Nintendo Says It's "Working Hard" On Metroid Prime 4

DrDaisy

Unless you count the pinball game for DS, I haven't bought a Metroid Prime game since the first one because I just couldn't get used to the first-person gameplay so I probably won't get this either but I still want to see what it looks like, preferably before they cancel this one and restart the development again. I would only be 80% surprised if this was never in development to begin with.

Re: Cruis'n Blast Is Coming To Nintendo Switch

DrDaisy

I still think porting arcade-perfect ports of the first three arcade games to see if people still like the series would have been a good idea.

Was the acceleration in the arcades games analog or digital? I know that issue could be addressed with the right control stick but it would feel a bit awkward.

Re: Taito Milestones Is A Collection Of Arcade Archives Titles Heading To Switch

DrDaisy

Not the games I want personally, but hopefully this leads to more Taito games on Switch and other currently-supported platforms. I'm still waiting for Light Bringer and an uncensored version of Growl.

I'd also like a sequel to or remake of Wild Guns that lets me move my character and aim at the same time, although Wii probably would have been the best platform for that.

Re: Super Mario Kart Hacker Restores Nintendo's Official Track Editor

DrDaisy

I was about to say a track editor would get me much more interested in the Mario Kart games, but then I remembered that I took little interest in ModNation Racers and LittleBigPlanet Karting after trying them. There's also that ***** blue shell which not only turned me off of Mario Kart but the Smash Bros games as well.

Re: Switch Frame Rate And Resolution For House Of The Dead: Remake Seemingly Revealed

DrDaisy

I think games like these were best on the Wii with the remotes infrared pointer function. The newer tech just doesn't work as well. Even the PS3 Move controls were awful for House of the Dead and anyone who argues otherwise is free to settle this in the ring. Even so, I'd like to be proven wrong about shooting games with Switch motion controls. Still, the fact that the Switch doesn't even have motion controls for Zombie Panic in Wonderland while the Wii version did doesn't look promising.

Re: Talking Point: amiibo Have Always Been Physical DLC, Skyward Sword HD Is No Different

DrDaisy

@BAN Of course I'll be okay. I won't be wasting noney on the game or the amiibo. I borrowed the game for Wii once and thought the only good thing about it was having a gravity-defying village in the sky. I didn't like the story, the characters, or the gameplay. That doesn't mean I'm okay with this practice, and I don't just criticize Nintendo for it.

As for the amiibo requirement, it's not just about the figure itself, it's about the massive increase in scalper activity since the start of the covid pandemic. It's been bad before, but now it seems like every time a popular company releases anything in limited quantities, rich ***** ***** are buying them up in massive quantities to create a shortage and sell them for jacked up prices, so for a lot of people now, the price of a required amiibo will be much higher than $25! And yes, other companies pull this *****, and I hate it when they do that too.
