Re: Review: Expeditions: A MudRunner Game (Switch) - Performance Bumps Can't Run This Sim Off The Road

Doctor-Moo

I've played Snowrunner on both Switch and PS4, and I have mixed feelings about the Switch port. On the one hand, it's great to have that amazing game in a handheld format, and the game looks pretty good overall. On the other hand, it feels like a lesser experience compared to the PS4 version. The loss of detail makes assessing road conditions a little more difficult, but also, there's less of a feeling of "immersion," which takes away from the joy of driving across these environments. Overall, it's certainly playable on Switch, but it's much better on PS4 (and probably Steam Deck). Looking forward to playing Expeditions, but not on Switch.

Re: Poll: How Often Do You Trade-In Your Switch Games?

Doctor-Moo

I sell my unwanted games locally on Facebook Marketplace. I get way more for them than if I took them to a store. In fact, I can often buy and sell used games for the same price that way. So if I buy a used game and then re-sell it, the net cost is $0.

Re: Konami's Suikoden I & II HD Remaster Has Been Delayed

Doctor-Moo

I agree with a lot of the posters here.

1. Delays are better than half-finished games.

2. Publishers should not announce games so early. It just puts pressure on the dev team to rush a game to completion. This is why we have crunch.

I doubt this one will be cancelled. There’s a lot of interest in this one, and remasters don’t cost as much to develop as new games. It seems like a good financial bet for Konami.

Re: Memory Pak: Secret Of Mana's Dazzling World Of Colour Opened My Eyes

I just played it again for the first time in about 20 years, and I think it’s a masterpiece. At first I found the combat clunky, but once I got used to it I realized that it’s a sort of hybrid of real-time and turn-based that requires precise timing. I absolutely loved playing it again and am really looking forward to playing SD3 for the first time.

Re: Feature: Our Predictions For The June 2023 Nintendo Direct

@Not_Soos I wouldn't be so sure. We're currently at the longest gap between Nintendo home console generations since the NES>SNES. We're seeing more and more Switch ports that don't measure up to other console versions. Nintendo may be ready to unveil a backward-compatible Switch 2 soon, and with few major Switch releases on the horizon, now may be the time.
