1. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards - Despite not having a lot of copy abilities, it compensated this by combining two abilities to create new ones and the copy abilities that have appeared before had stronger versions if one combined the same ability twice! One of my favorite abilities is the electric double saber, which, correct me if I'm wrong, only appeared in this game. Oh, and if you find the game too difficult (in some boss fights), there's an ability that makes you create food indefinitely that doubles as a weapon if the food hits an enemy, which is another ability that's exclusive to this game. You can also carry some enemies instead of swallow them and some even attack while carrying them, making them mobile weapons which, again only happened in this game.
2. Kirby and the Amazing Mirror - We got some really juicy abilities here like the Smash Ability (yes, this game did it before the few later kirby games that have it). Also there's the Missile Ability, and a few other new ones that I don't remember right now 😅 We also got here the last Sakurai Style's Villain which is one of coolest final bosses.
3. Kirby's Return to Dream Land - Here we got some abilities that received QoL thanks to the Wii controller (in this game, it works flawlessly), new abilities and Super Abilities. The true villain was unexpected compared to other kirby games but I'll let you find out when you play game or perhaps in 2022 (Kirby's 30th Anniversary). I really like the Water, Ninja and Leaf Abilities.
Nice! It's almost certain that the Switch will reach 80 million sales or more this year! With the anniversaries of some Nintendo franchises (and a 2nd party) being this year, the Switch could have its biggest year sales yet.
Despite playing like 1,500+ hours (using different accounts), I almost never remember that this recipe exist. A few weeks ago I thought it was exclusive to Age of Calamity Lol 😂
I haven't checked but I think I either reach or am close to 1000 hours this year. Half of those hours come from playing Zelda BotW because to preserve your first file, one has to create another "page" in the Nintendo Switch system.
My second and third most played games are Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition and Ys VIII, both of which I brought this year and are visible in my first page's hours. My other two pages don't show the hours (which I use for Zelda BotW).
@Ryu_Niiyama there's a 5 hour limit in this new demo? I better not delete the previous demo in case I want to play without having limited time and to beat the 2 secret bosses from that demo.
I am mostly playing Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. The story is really interesting despite being from another timeline. And it has some funny moments! 😂 I may play one of the 3 Megaman games (11 and 2 collection games) I obtained a while ago.
Despite being from a different timeline, I think Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is worthy of being Nintendo's GOTY, followed by Xenoblede Chronicles Definitive Edition. I would have put Super Mario 3D All Stars in second place, but many others have played 2 of the 3 games of the collection and Sunshine still needs QoL/lower down the difficulty of various levels, so I put it in 3rd place.
From what I have heard and seen, I think Ori and Will of Wisps should be 4th place. I have mostly purchased Megaman games (on discount) these last months and the original FF7 early this year.
I'll continue playing playing Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Since I recently purchased other games, I may play Megaman 11 or X7/X8 of X Legacy Collection.
Each year Nintendo have two different announcements. Perhaps a 2D Metroid could appear this year? I know at least that would hype me I like to think positively even if not everything happens like I wish for.
In part, the society has some blame due to how much of a taboo was to talk about sexual topics a few decades ago, and still is a taboo to talk in some areas/regions yet. I remember how many parents of my cousins never tell them anything and they learned about those topics from others in school in a way that wasn't correct and some were even pressured to experiment "to be cool" or "to be a man". Also, what about those that developed attractions so early that they don't know where to aim that? Who will help them if they are afraid to talk about this?
Perhaps if there was more education in the past decades, many of these things would not be happening as frequent as it still happens. Yes we have processed, but too slow for a something that is how humans procreate themselves.
16/16! Given I have played a new playthrough 4-5 times, I kinda expect it. Although I was like like 75% certain of the the shrine question, but glad I got it right.
I would not mind a Zelda in classic turn-based RPG like Bravely Default, but fully 3D like Dragon Quest XI S, and also would like to see a Hyrule Warriors 2. I like both gaming genres.
Another game genre I think would go well with Zelda would be a game with the Ys VIII mechanics like having 3 characters at the same time, but with a little twist using some Zelda items like the Spiner, Lens of Truth, Hover Boots and Din's Fire.
If everything goes well, I may have it before midday. Hope all of you who get it, that you can enjoy the game
Edit: For some reason, the game hasn't arrived in my close Walmart. I guess I have to call the store to see when it arrives.
I don't know if believe it or not. I don't see any Megaman X9 or at the very least a game titled Megaman X. I only see Rockman Match (which seems to mean that's a fighting game).
Given that (iirc) Megaman 11 became a success, it makes no sense to not develop a sequel of X, which left X8 in a plot hanging. At least that's the only Megaman listed here that I have seen in this news. Happy for those that wanted Power Stone finally get it, even if it's at the end of the (at least original) Switch's life.
Megaman X DiVE don't interest me because it's a mobile cash grab and I rather pay $60 for a full game. I can handle DLCs if it's done like BotW or Xenoblede DE (which I heard good things about).
@tech7 That I can understand. I have come to accept that Nintendo would never fully follow the competition, or what some third parties do of lowering the price of their IPs trilogies while being remaked (example, Crash N' Sane Trilogy).
I have not started Sunshine yet, but I never see that as a big deal. I am happy that I can play the original Mario 64 on Switch. People are so sensitive these days
@TheFrenchiestFry I never said Playstation did not have family-friendly games. I know Xbox have Lucky, Cuphead, Ori, Battletoads and Rare Replay. I simply said that Xbox is still focusing more on mature games, and that is as clear as clear water pal. My intention is not bad, it's simply an opinion. And you seem to be fighting with many people here. Are you okay? You should take deep breaths.
In other words, future Bethesda games will be timed exclusives. They will just do it in a silent way. Edit: I wish Xbox was more varied. The Switch has showed that rated E and rated E10+ games can sell well. Heck, Switch has already sold almost double the amount of sell units of Xbox One. I mean, they can't expect people to get an Xbox Series X just for Bethesda games and other mature games.
Playstation has a lot more mature games. Why not try to have more variety like Nintendo? They have many IPs like Jet Force Gemini (a colorful rated T shooter), a certain duo in Smash, Conker, etc. Heck they could try to create some exclusive RPGs (and JRPGs if they want to start to reach the japanese audience). Why not make more of these games? Me thinks they are still playing it safe by focusing on just M games. I want to be proved wrong though, but so far that is my perception of all this.
@AlienX Good to see someone agree with Mission Mode. My guess on why many people don't like it, is because either they didn't try it after beating the game's story or they stopped playing the mode because of it being unpolished.
Sure, everyone likes a polished game, but some of the glitches and unpolished areas can be evaded (even without cheating). I cleared the game without having any major issues (and clear a lot of the missions in Mission Mode).
It would be great if the game got an official polished release, so that more people can enjoy it though.
I don't think he is a good fit for Sonic, if what he is saying here is his vision. I'd rather someone that put the best things of Adventure 1, Adventure 2 a few other games to make a good 3D Sonic game (2D has its limits and sooner or later won't be enough to sustain the Sonic franchise. Not every franchise has the fortune that has Mario or other 2D games).
I think they should try a more platforming approach for Sonic, while improving on the good things about past games (and please, polish the games). And let us use more characters, as Sonic don't need to be the only playable character.
While Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is more polished and I liked obtaining all the secret abilities (gear for Knuckles/Rouge/Tails/Eggman), I still like more Adventure DX because of the Overworld and the music. I like rock music (and other modern music found in Adventure 2 in his time), but I prefer the music of Adventure 1 because it is more varied, more adventurous which sits well for Sonic. The Overworld feel like a good evolution for the franchise. I liked exploring and finding the next stage/act. I also enjoyed the Mission Mode added in the Game Cube version. With a good polishing and Quality of Life adjustments, it will be a great game imo.
I'm finally close to beating Zelda BotW. Just need to start the quest of the divine beast Vah Naboris and then Hyrule Castle, though I haven't decided if I will do the Final Trials of Trial of the Sword. Not to mention the DLC of the fifth dungeon (depending on each one's perspective of whenever it is a dungeon or not).
For me, some of the best SNES games are Megaman X2, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Super Metroid and Yoshi's Island. I played Megaman X and remember playing a lot of All Stars Super Mario Bros 3 (I never played it on NES). I did play Super Mario Kart but wasn't fond of the franchise until Mario Kart 64.
I didn't play or knew of a lot of third party games because I started playing SNES games in the first years of the N64 (I was like 5 or 6 years by then). I mostly played the games rented and the videos that my parents visited didn't have a lot of games.
Games like Zelda, Final Fantasy, Kirby and even fighting games were unknown to me, with the exception of Killer Instinct and Mortal Combat. I came to know about the other franchises in the N64/PS1's life. Nevertheless I enjoyed the games I only knew of at the time.
@Richnj I see. Thanks for clarifying me. It's possible that I enjoy it now that I have more experience with first person shooters. I was like 12 years when I try it and I started getting better with shooters when later I played Metroid Prime 2. Sorry for replying late.
I don't have Twitter, so I rather said it here. I prefer 3D Zeldas, with A Link Between Worlds being the only one I got fond of more than the rest of of the 2D Zeldas. Phantom Hourglass being the second one I'm fond of. The story is one of the best in 2D Zeldas imo.
My Ocarina tune I'd rather relax to would be Song of Time. Defeating enemies with the sword is more satisfying for me.
I don't think they should stop making 2D Zeldas but if they want to continue making them, they should include Link's ALBW free movement and The Minish Cap features (I haven't played it, so I don't know everything) if they want to continue making 2D Zeldas. Also improve on what these two games have made, like having more sword techniques and more evade actions.
Would love to play this game again on Switch. I complete it on New 3DS but more than once I feel pain in my hands. With the Pro Controller I don't have to worry about that.
I think I rented this game for the Game Cube. Although I don't remember if it was the 2nd or the 3rd game. It had a scoring system and after killing many enemies, I'll have some kind of bonus and hear a "YEEHAW" when the bonus activates. I could be wrong though, as that was a long time ago and I didn't play it a lot because it was difficult for me.
That's nice! I have only beat the first boss (I got distract very easily once I buy new games). Will definitely update on the 5th. I may try to clear this game before I buy my next game.
My adventure in Zelda BotW continues. I have leveled the Ancient Armor to level 2 to obtain that nifty Ancient Proficiency effect. I also farmed a few Lynel materials (for the Barbarian Armor) before going to clear the Middle Trials of Trial of the Sword.
Ironically my hardest area was in the windy levels against the bow wielding bokoblings, but prevaile it without dieing. Will hold on trying the Final Trials of Trial of the Sword until I have more hearts and stamina.
As a person who played Hyrule Warriors on the original 3DS, this won't bother me and I plan to buy this game. Of course, this could affect those who are used to constant/stable 60fps/30fps or those who suffers motion sickness, so I hope they fix/improve this so that those people can also enjoy the game.
@KryptoniteKrunch Well said. Not to mention that Retro is likely working on Prime 4, even as we speak. The construction of the new building is on another location. Not in the current HQ of Retro.
I'm glad Nintendo is investing money on Retro Studios. They definitely earned it after handling so well the Metroid Prime and DK franchise. They even helped with Mario Kart 8 (or 7? I don't remember which one).
I'm curious as I have never played a Pikmin. But I can only buy one game per month and due to life circumstances, I no longer have enough money to buy it this month. Not to mention that the next month I want to buy Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Perhaps I'll buy it in January if I don't buy other games on my list.
At least it's not a long delay imo. I'm glad that we can finally know which character will attack thanks to the turn bar. The exclamation icon is also appreciated and it's nice that they are improving the menu.
@Creature @RushDawg I see. Thanks for telling some of us. Since my interest are in other topics, I know next to nothing about these jobs working hours. Not to mention I have never worked for a company.
Yet more Zelda BotW! 😂 I am taking my time and doing only the things that I want to do to evade monotony, which happened in my 3rd or 4th playthrough. So far it has been working. Not to mention that I have discovered many areas with luminous ores and new koroks.
For the first time, I have upgraded most of the Soldier's Armor to level 4 instead of focusing on the Ancient Armor. As you may expect, I left the middle part of the armor for last as I have the Champions Tunic in level 4 already, but will find the last 2 Lynel Guts to have the armor completely upgraded.
Oh, and I have only cleared 2 divine beast, so I still have like 60% of the story plus the DLC (only cleared the Beginning Trials of Trial of the Sword). The freedom of this game really make each playthrough different!
Have been playing Zelda BotW. Just increased all of the Soldier's Armor to level 3 instead of leaving it in level 2 until I am near the end of the game. It's amazing how much freedom this game has! Each new playthrough can be different despite playing through 3 or 4 playthroughs
I'm happy to see people showing love to the 64 games.
Here's my top 20:
1. Super Mario 64
2. Zelda Ocarina of Time
3. Paper Mario
4. Diddy Kong Racing
5. Zelda Majora's Mask
6. Mario Kart 64
7. Donkey Kong 64
8. Mario Party 2
9. Mario Party 3
10. Banjo Kazooie
11. Mario Party
12. Bomberman 64 (the 1997 one)
13. Jet Force Gemini
14. Yoshi's Story
15. Pokemon Stadium
16. Pokemon Stadium 2
17. Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards
18. Pokemon Snap
19. Pokemon Puzzle League
20. Cruise'n Exotica
I started to play more third party games during the Game Cube console. I did play Megaman 64 because I thought it would be like Megaman X and X2 but it wasn't like that. It was complex since I was a kid, so I had too many difficulties with the game 😅
I ended up trading it to my cousin for Zelda Ocarina of Time, which became my favorite Nintendo franchise over time.

@RareFan I also appreciate that. It's wonderful isn't? ☺
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 5th)

That's nice! I have only beat the first boss (I got distract very easily once I buy new games). Will definitely update on the 5th. I may try to clear this game before I buy my next game.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 31st)
Re: What's Up With The Frame Rate In The Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Demo?
As a person who played Hyrule Warriors on the original 3DS, this won't bother me and I plan to buy this game. Of course, this could affect those who are used to constant/stable 60fps/30fps or those who suffers motion sickness, so I hope they fix/improve this so that those people can also enjoy the game.
Re: Retro Studios Is Remodelling Its HQ In 2021 To Aid Development Of Metroid Prime 4
@KryptoniteKrunch Well said. Not to mention that Retro is likely working on Prime 4, even as we speak. The construction of the new building is on another location. Not in the current HQ of Retro.
Re: Retro Studios Is Remodelling Its HQ In 2021 To Aid Development Of Metroid Prime 4
I'm glad Nintendo is investing money on Retro Studios. They definitely earned it after handling so well the Metroid Prime and DK franchise. They even helped with Mario Kart 8 (or 7? I don't remember which one).
Re: Poll: Pikmin 3 Deluxe Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?
I'm curious as I have never played a Pikmin. But I can only buy one game per month and due to life circumstances, I no longer have enough money to buy it this month. Not to mention that the next month I want to buy Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Perhaps I'll buy it in January if I don't buy other games on my list.
Re: Retro's Hiring Spree Continues As It Recruits Veteran GTA Producer
@graysoncharles She can fight her in Smash, possibly until the Smash franchise last
Re: Bravely Default II Hits Nintendo Switch In February 2021
At least it's not a long delay imo. I'm glad that we can finally know which character will attack thanks to the turn bar. The exclamation icon is also appreciated and it's nice that they are improving the menu.
Re: Brunswick Corporation Elects Reggie Fils-Aimé To Board Of Directors
@Creature @RushDawg
I see. Thanks for telling some of us. Since my interest are in other topics, I know next to nothing about these jobs working hours. Not to mention I have never worked for a company.
Re: Brunswick Corporation Elects Reggie Fils-Aimé To Board Of Directors
Reggie's brain can hold up to 7 jobs!!! 😂
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 24th)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 17th)
Have been playing Zelda BotW. Just increased all of the Soldier's Armor to level 3 instead of leaving it in level 2 until I am near the end of the game. It's amazing how much freedom this game has! Each new playthrough can be different despite playing through 3 or 4 playthroughs
Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite Nintendo 64 Games
I'm happy to see people showing love to the 64 games.
Here's my top 20:
1. Super Mario 64
2. Zelda Ocarina of Time
3. Paper Mario
4. Diddy Kong Racing
5. Zelda Majora's Mask
6. Mario Kart 64
7. Donkey Kong 64
8. Mario Party 2
9. Mario Party 3
10. Banjo Kazooie
11. Mario Party
12. Bomberman 64 (the 1997 one)
13. Jet Force Gemini
14. Yoshi's Story
15. Pokemon Stadium
16. Pokemon Stadium 2
17. Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards
18. Pokemon Snap
19. Pokemon Puzzle League
20. Cruise'n Exotica
I started to play more third party games during the Game Cube console. I did play Megaman 64 because I thought it would be like Megaman X and X2 but it wasn't like that. It was complex since I was a kid, so I had too many difficulties with the game 😅
I ended up trading it to my cousin for Zelda Ocarina of Time, which became my favorite Nintendo franchise over time.
