One game arriving exclusively on the Nintendo Switch early next year is Bravely Default II by Team Asano and Square Enix. Although a demo was already released earlier this year, there's now a "final demo" up on the eShop in North America.
This will give you a taste of the game's "vivid art, strategic battle system, and memorable music" from the first main chapter. If you download it ahead of the game's release, you'll also score 100 My Nintendo Platinum Points. These points will automatically be added to your account within 30 days after downloading the demo.
Bravely Default II will launch next year on 26th February and is a successor to the original 3DS outing. Will you be trying out this "final" demo? Leave a comment down below.

Thanks for the heads up! My hype level for this game isn't super high since the last demo, but will see if the new one makes me more interested in this title.
Nice. I guess this helps to give us a look at the changes from the video the other month? Wonder if we can import into main game cause it's 1st chapter?
The first demo was kinda weird. At the same time, so was Octopath’S first demo and they cleaned that up a lot.
I’ll probably buy this one soon after it launches, though I do have a big back log. Does the progress from this one transfer over?
@DavidMac no save data transfer because of where you start.
Not feeling the 5 hour limit but that’s just me. I’ll play on casual and see how far I can get.
Sweet.
Time to download and see if the changes they made improve the feel of it at all.
I want to like this. I liked Bravely Default on 3DS.
I might give this a spin to see the new changes. The previous demo was fun but a bit rough around the edges, though that was intentionally put out there for consumer feedback. I enjoyed the two 3DS games, Bravely Default and Bravely Second, so I'm certain I'll end up with the full product.
Eh, not intereste--OH PLATINUM POINTS!?
I'll take 3 Bravely Default 2s please!
Do we know if this is an entirely new entity, or if you need to play the first or second games to understand the plot? I'm interested because I heard Octopath was like a simplified version of it, and I loved everything about Octopath.
@shoeses
You'll have Benefits in Knowledge and "oh cool"-Moments with it by playing the ones before but i think it is not Mandatory.
It is at the End the Story about the Crystals and Heroes of Light in like it was in first Final Fantasy.
And if you like the new Entry a lot, play the first one and see it as a Prequel
I at least can recommend it, great Music, great Characters and good Combat.
I had to admit, the Street Pass Feature helped me a lot to kill some Bosses.
It was sometimes the little Touch to outweight the Battle to my Fortune.
You'll have it a bit harder
The biggest Flaw imo is that some Bosses are only defeatable in one Way and no other and if you just don't leveled that specific Class enough it will be a grind Fest.
Nice! I'll download the demo right away!
@Ryu_Niiyama there's a 5 hour limit in this new demo? I better not delete the previous demo in case I want to play without having limited time and to beat the 2 secret bosses from that demo.
Wow, amazing game!!!
Played the final demo, man this game day one.
Beautiful graphics, loving the the battle system.
This game will get me busy for a while.
Great! I love Square always do this stuff. In my opinion, everyone should make demos, at least let us try half an hour of the game before we buy it.
Games like Inmortals or Doom Eternal could benefit so much from that.
They clearly care about what people think as they have showed us after the first demo hit. This game could turn out well.
Neat, I will download it for sure
Meh, not for me. I have 3 JRPGs on the Switch already, the genre doesn't interest me enough to bother with this as well.
Also still looks like an upscaled 3DS port.
I've played it already for an hour, and I honestly loved what I've seen. It plays great, it looks awesome, the combat system and the job system have so much potential, and the story plot seems quite interesting. I noticed, however, that there were some frame drops from time to time, along with some weird stuff like explaining the commands in battle, not letting you see the other commands. I don't think these issues will be in the final version of the game, though.
Good impressions in general. Pretty good. And I played it in handheld, I guess in TV must look even sharper. This will likely be a day one for me.
PS: Does Elvis sound as Drippy from Ni No Kuni, or is it just me? Lol
@Azuris Thanks for telling me. And trust me, if getting perfect Pokémon wasn't such a time consuming hassle I'd have played a half a dozen different JRPGs in that time instead. I own Xenoblade 1, 2, & the Golden Country but haven't had a real chance to dip my toes into them. But with how much I loved Octopath this might be another exception.
Does anyone ever actually spend Platinum Points? Month in and month out, there is pretty much never anything I care to exchange them for on Nintendo's site (and yes, I'm acknowledging the fact that they're free). They could actually have a bit of value if there were a way you could swap a certain amount of them for Gold Points.
Nintendo's old rewards program (especially its awesome end-of-year rewards) was far superior to what we have now. Sadly it's long gone. While I realize that others' mileage may vary, I'd be absolutely fine with them scrapping the useless Platinum Points altogether and just going with Gold Points, because any rewards program is ultimately worth what a given consumer gets out of it.
The first demo wasn't that great, to put it mildly. But they did respond to the feedback and addressed most of the major issues, so hopefully this demo will be much better.
Is this demo sorta its own thing like the other Bravely demos or is it just a snippet from the actual game?
If it's content that's going to be in the actual game then I think I'll pass, I know I'm going to get this game anyway.
@Expa0 It's a part of the game, just after the prologue. If you know you'll get the game anyway, don't play it. I did it because I wasn't that sure, but now I know I want it XD
What I've played of it feels very refined. I'm looking forward to the full game.
Great! I just "100%'d" the previous demo 2 weeks ago. I know I was late for the feedback 😅
I'll give it another go. The first demo of this game did not impress me. I never finished the first Bravely Default though (I got bored), so it may just be that this series just isn't for me (and that's fine, I'm still happy for the fans of the series).
I couldn't care less about Bravely Default, just probably gonna download it for the PP.
@shoeses
Haha i know what you mean, when getting older it comes that you only can get "perfect" in one bigger Game.
Others will Suffer.
And Pokemon is a Science.
One further Advice, if you like Octopath AND the earlier Final Fantasies, you'll like Brave Default.
I'm trying to play only one (maybe two) bigger Games until i'm done with them, everything else has to be something "quick".
For Example, i'm playing Dragon Quest XI at the Time and if i'm tired i'm only playing/getting Games i can play Through in 2-12 Hours, like Shantae, Streets of Rage IV or Ion Fury.
I can't afford the Time beeing good or going into another big RPG or open World Game at the same Time.
I'll skip the new Bravely Default, the first Demo wasn't mine and i don't like the new Style.
Also i still have Bravely Second untouched here ^^' ...
Wow, I just met someone last night who's also into Bravely and now there's another demo!
That said, do I really want to play the first chapter before getting the full game? Since you can't transfer anything and you don't get extra items like with previous Bravely demos, I might skip this despite my hype for it.
The first game burned me so bad I've been reluctant of the series ever since.
oh yeah and play all over again....what happens to the game saves hmm....so will be delete the previous demo and get new demo to get coins.... that's the game plan...
@SwitchForce Man, better this than no demo at all, right? Besides, you don't need to finish the whole thing, just play a little to see if it's your thing, then stop and wait for the full game. There's no point in complaining about this, honestly XD
The attacks didn't feel impactful at all, so it's a pass unless that gets changed
@the_beaver I got first demo so I'll delete and get the new demo.
Although I'm a fan of some JRPGs, I never played any BD games, but did play the original BD2 demo and really enjoyed it. However, a bit concerned that I read that the game will be rated M. Really? For this type of game? Anyway, will wait and see when it comes out how it reviews and what the M is for.
Oh this demo is so much better than the last one!! I'm interested again
@the_beaver
Drippy was Welsh.
Elvis is Scottish.
Completely different!
@motorik6 Hahah for a foreigner, there's no much difference, I must say. They speak in a pretty similar way, and they both are funny.
