It might not have reached Club Nintendo levels of awesomeness just yet, but the current My Nintendo reward service is certainly starting to change for the better with some very tempting physical goodies.
The latest addition to the party is this set of Nintendo 64 posters depicting three of the system's best games. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart 64 and Star Fox 64 all feature, each being treated to a glossy, high quality, 70 x 50cm print.
If you want to pick them up, all you need to do is spend 500 Platinum Points on the My Nintendo website (which you can acquire by regularly visiting the site) and then just pay shipping. You could even get them at no extra cost at all by adding them to an order that qualifies for free delivery. Here's the link you need:

Aaand meanwhile in America there is literally no physical awards, wahoooooo
Heck yeah, will grab these for sure.
I don't have enough platinum point
is it just me or are Platinum points a 3DS thing. who the heck is still building up Platinum points?
Did have another way to pay instead of Credit Card ?
I want these, but have no platinum points. Also don't have the pin set from Dread as a result.
@smithyo
Truthfully I still save up my platinum points, 60 a week by doing the weekly My Nintendo site check, and 3DS eShop sign-in.
It's been worth it because the rewards have gotten considerably better in the past year, and easier to order.
I grabbed the N64 poster set together with a Metroid Dread pin badge set, and Nintendo Switch Card Case.
Since these items have no monetary value and free shipping applies to orders over £20, I decided to pre-order Kirby and the Forgotten Land at the same time. My Nintendo Store UK has had a habit of adding additional gifts and bonuses to pre-orders closer to the game's launch, and my usual place for pre-ordering being 365games haven't kept up with stocking Switch games lately.
I literally log into the eshop on my 3DS once a week just to keep the plat points ticking over!
These look fantastic - wish I would be allowed to put these up in my flat!
Nice. Rewards are getting better and better
We got Snes posters. We getting n64 posters. Where’s nes
@BongoBongo I do that too, I've got a reminder on my phone for every Monday morning. 😂 Annoyingly I'm 200 points short at the moment as I recently got those Metroid Dread badges.
@BulkSlash
I have the My Nintendo page set as one of my homepages on my desktop browser.
Aside from the 30 you can claim every Monday, you can periodically get an Easter egg interaction with your Mii to claim another 10 coins.
Ooh, more posters ... Definitely couldn't make these myself if I wanted. Bring back proper rewards.
@RupeeClock I forgot the 3DS eShop also counted towards Platinum. I think I will do that later to try and bolster my points.
@Matl
I wouldn't say posters aren't proper rewards, and granted in some cases you can find super high quality, potentially source quality images online to order posters yourself.
But it's still a nice thing if you can get a few official posters for more or less free.
@MS7000
Yeah, both 3DS and Wii U eShop access with your connected My Nintendo account will count for earning 30 points a week.
Strangely not with the Switch eShop of all places.
If only the My Nintendo Store could recognize any of my bank cards
Just grabbed these posters. Had to do it from Nintendo DE store since the UK store blocked me from adding it to the cart because I was naturally lacking 500 points after already having reedemed this on the my.nintendo page - Just a tip if anyone else runs into the same problem.
@RupeeClock Thanks for mentioning the card case. I'll be looking into saving up points for that one.
"It might not have reached Club Nintendo levels of awesomeness just yet" Haha. Stay optimistic NintendoLife.
I found a cool tip on hotukdeals where you download the Animal Crossing mobile phone game, link to your Nintendo account, play for a bit (after you've placed your first bit of furniture) and got 300 platinum points.
I already had 250, so it gave me enough. I believe you can do Missions for more points.
I want these so much won’t be able to get enough points in time. If anyone is feeling nice I would happily pay for shipping and extra just so I can own them.
This is Nintendo's answer to NFTs thank you Nintendo.
@eltomo There are also daily rewards for Toad Rally and rewards for clearing worlds on Super Mario run
@Moonsorrow999 download fire emblem hero’s for apple or android. Easy points
@Bunkerneath
My Nintendo UK Store seems to be broken when placing desktop orders, at least for pre-orders.
I can only get it to work when placing orders on my Android phone, I don't understand why.
@RupeeClock How do you get points on the MyNintendo site? I've just been doing the eShop check on my 3DS. I assume checking it on my Wii U as well won't give me double points?
Seeing as though the US page just shows an "Error" message, I'm hoping that means its about to update with something similar
@BulkSlash
Once a week starting Monday, you can visit https://my.nintendo.com/ and you should see a platinum coin roll past the two coin jars, with your Mii chasing it.
Click it and claim your weekly 30 coins.
You can then go to the missions page to claim other mission rewards, such as the weekly sign in bonus for checking the 3DS or Wii U eShop, or the monthly bonus for being subscribed to newsletters.
The My Nintendo homepage can also occasionally have secret missions where you interact with your Mii, for 10 bonus coins.
Little things like this make it worth adding the site as your browser's homepage.
Nice that Nintendo still remember the N64's 25th anniversary. As you know the N64 launch in 1996 in NA and 1997 in Europe. That means 2022 is its 25th anniversary in Europe, enjoy these for they may be the only thing you get for the celebration. Also enjoy Banjo-Kazooie coming out this week on NSO as well. It's also the Super NES 30th anniversary in Europe as well, hope y'all get something nice for that soon over there too.
@RupeeClock Thanks, I’ll give that a try!
Alright, it's time to again start logging in to the 3DS eShop every week so I can get enough coins to afford this rubbish.
This system is stupid by the way.
@EarthboundBenjy
Yes, it's so strange that they make you engage with now largely irrelevant games and systems to earn platinum points.
They really wanted to take off with mobile games, but things like Miitomo are finished, and Super Mario Run never took off.
Dr. Mario World never even had My Nintendo integration, nor does Mario Kart Tour.
@smithyo I forget that points are even a thing until an article tells me I can get stuff...Then I forget about them again.
I don't use the 3DS store at all these days and I've no reason to go to the website other than getting points for the sake of having points.
It's a pretty rubbish system really. I know you can claim coins on physical versions of games, but I far prefered claiming the Club Nintendo points with previous systems. I outright forget to claim on Switch games...Though having 2 Switches means I could probably get a free game out of doing so.
It's so strange that they go so hard on offering quality prizes for these points, yet the only way to earn them is in an old eshop and mobile apps. Where's the platinum points for playing Switch games?
@smithyo I have almost 5000
You mostly get them from the mobile games
Over 1,000 platinum points saved up here with no mobile games, just logging in week after week to collect my points and find that there’s still nothing worth buying with shipping and still in stock, some of the sweepstakes being the only exception. Might have actually bit on this one if it were available in the US!
"giving away" posters but won't even "sell" the games.
Super cool! I've just grabbed it now...
I just had to re-install and link Animal Crossing Pocket Camp to my Nintendo account and I received the points I needed.
This might just be the first item that is worth it. Too bad I'm in the US
@RupeeClock Mine wont let me add a card, not my debit card credit card or even my wife's card
@Bunkerneath have you tried PayPal.
@RupeeClock damn... I always forget the 3DS eShop weekly visit =
Why won't Nintendo just let me give them money for these?!
I've set My Nintendo as my homepage. (Which is a bit like putting my seatbelt on after the car's crashed...) Cheers @RupeeClock for the heads up.
@Bunkerneath
I have only been able to add a card when visiting the My Nintendo UK Store on my Android phone. Their card payment system seems to be totally broken on any desktop browsers I try.
What device are you using to try and place the order?
They have this thing where they do not accept Paypal for pre-orders for whatever reason, so this makes it harder to pre-order stuff combined with the payment card bugs.
@RupeeClock ok i'll try my wife's phone, I have tired on various browsers on various desktops and laptops and my iPod (nearest thing I have to a smart phone), none of them work, you have to option of Paypal and Gpay, both of them dont work either.
I have contacted them, they says its my bank, phoned my bank they say its their site. Its stupid, even before it was the My Nintendo Store, the offical UK Store was just awful. So many pre-orders going "missing" and no apologies, just fobbing you off.
Looked on the Nintendo site and there is no way to complain to Nintendo that their UK Store is crap, it just diverts the emails to the Store.
@eltomo You might wanna check the ‘Earn Points’ section on My Nintendo. Has a list of all the ways you can earn points there. There’s similar methods to that Pocket Camp mission through games like Fire Emblem Awakening as well.
Also would have much preferred if this was a Lylat Wars poster rather than a Star Fox 64 one, for reasons of nostalgia.
@Doofenshmirtz Ha ha, but we can print some crap out! Like birthday party invites or coloring pages or worthless guides.
@1UP_MARIO When did we get SNES posters?
OF COURSE 300 of my coins expired last October so now I don't have enough to get these.
Curses!!
@JimiVall 2 years ago
God dammit, everytime I see something I want, its never in the U.S.
I miss Club Nintendo
The bad news: they only mail them out one poster every 10 months.
Paying shipping ≠ giving away
Why do Europeans get the good stuff and we Americans all get pins and 3DS guides and stuff? Come on, Nintendo!
I'm American, so maybe I'm missing something, but I thought Europeans had Lylat Wars, not Star Fox 64?
@smithyo mayhaps the Australians are
@KingBowser Ill take the pins off your hands if you don't want them
I would have loved having these in my bedroom at the time the games were released. They look stunning !
Do the points you can get from playing the AC game etc contribute towards your 'normal' Platinum Point total? I only ask because they have different icons. I really really want these posters.
I'm wounded. Europe gets cool physical rewards while we Americans are over here suffering. They took all of our physical rewards away...
Ordered yesterday. Received today. Super fast delivery.
@noobish_hat in fact Starfox 64 and Lylat Wars are the same game. Lylat Wars was the name of the PAL localization at that time.
@noobish_hat yea. Great quality.
@Bronski Lol I don't have any pins. I actually haven't bought anything from either the former Club Nintendo or the My Nintendo stores, at least not yet
Grabbed two sets with our two household accounts. Absolutely stunning and already framed one. Thank you Nintendo.
@KingBowser bruh honestly same though I wouldn't bother either due to the expensive shipping
@Bronski If the shipping were to be free however, then yeah, I'd be happy to purchase anything from the My Nintendo store.
@KingBowser same, but Nintendo also pressure us into spending our points due to expiry
(P.S lol 69 funny number)
@Bronski I just knew that number was going to mean something, how funny
@KingBowser heheh yea
