I picked it up in the Black Friday sales, it's a cute little game. I'd really wanted it for a while but put off because I already have a backlog. But I took the time to play it a bit and it's a little too handholding at first but once it starts to open up it becomes a lot more fun. Can't go wrong with a 3d Platformer if you're into the genre really.

How is a Playstation portable going to compete with a Switch 2? People are only buying the latter for the Nintendo exclusives, whereas the former will just be a trash version of the Steam Deck.

@Ultimapunch That's why I say it's anti-consumer as the exclusives force consumers to buy a worthless device which nobody would otherwise buy. Without those, manufacturers would actually have to focus on making devices with a USP if they wanted to take business away from the PC: which would be pro-consumer.

As for live service games, don't play them if you don't like them. I certainly don't.

@MrPeanutbutterz Yeah, pretty much. If there weren't exclusives only poor people would choose it over something like the Steam Deck and not through choice.

@eltomo I agree, Xbox and Playstation have zero raison detre. They're just sub-par PCs which lure people in with anti-consumer exclusives. At least the handholds have a USP.

The console market is so anti-consumer with it's "exclusives'. There's honestly no reason to buy consoles without that, unless you want something on the go like a Switch or Steam Deck - which are a little more mobile than laptops.

Hurray, now my enormous physical collection will not go to immediate waste. I'm going full digital for switch 2 though — the space constraint is getting real.

@RupeeClock Thanks for sharing, and yeah, it makes total sense that the remake of game on WiiU designed for teenage boys is (potentially) going to be popular with twenty to thirty years olds - they've aged a bit since playing the original.

@Anti-Matter Rental services suck. I hope they don't do that, as it disproportionately impacts the poor. I have friends who trade games in all the time because they're poor and they have nothing to show for it. Whereas I have like 80 physical games because I don't need to trade in to buy a new game. It'll be the same with a subscription service. It looks attractive because you can play more for cheaper, but you'll spend a lot of money and have nothing to show for it. That's why I say it disproportionately impacts the poor.

@RudyC3 If it requires a 2gig download for voice chat, then it's bloated spyware. Given the Switch is not a PC, I'm going to guess it's not voice chat containing bloated spyware (like Skype).

The worst thing about the leaks is that if you find something new out, you're literally profiting from the proceeds of crime. A lot of despicable outlets are making people an accessory to crime by reporting on specifics.

What I really want to see is Phantasy Star Online episodes 1 + 2 for GC NSO. I would even pay a separate sub for PSO Online

Had my friend send me the deluxe version from the USA and I couldn't have been more happy. The pins, the posters, oh my God, it was just amazing. I wondered if it would be worth something one day? But who could actually sell it!?

These hackers have forever ruined this because to enjoy it now is to enjoy the proceeds of crime.

@EVIL-C I got this recently on GC for the nostalgia and it hasn't aged as well as I remember. It could definitely do with an update (remaster // remake). I remember at the time the graphics looked almost like the film, oh how time changes things

I wonder if it has some switch 2 connectivity planned? The dearth of content makes me think it'll be padded out mostly by Switch 2 games in future.

The 100 Euro price point is nothing for a lot of people too, so I'm sure it will sell well enough.

@FineLerv Yeah. I get why they have it for a "multiplayer mode" but I really miss the single player modes where you needed to win cups to unlock new courses etc Without these there's really little incentive for me to play without friends.

I hope there's stuff to do. A lot of Nintendo multiplayer games are so bad these days in terms of content because everything is unlocked. What's the point of playing outside of a party gimmick?

For the most part, I love 3D platformers. So I'll be picking this one up for sure. It's so much fun to explore the worlds.

The problem for palworld is some of the designs were almost complete copies of Pokemon, and they featured on the box art. Look at the Lucario ripoff, for example. I'm sure Nintendo will win on that alone, especially given the case is being held in a Japanese court: a jurisdiction with a wide remit for copyright law.

@Pillowpants My friend played the GBA games on NSO in preparation and really loved them.

Either there's some backwards compatibility, or the Switch 2 is not being announced this year. Why else would Nintendo announce so many OLED bundles for Christmas otherwise?

I love Limited Run. Some people cry about them due to things unrelated to their products, other people cry about things related to their products. But they sold me a Jurassic Park collection, so I'm obligated by honour to defend them to the end.

This definitely looks like too much fun for Nintendo.

Why would someone buy a PS5 Pro when they could buy a PC? It's 100x better. There's virtually no reason to have a PS5 unless you're desperate to play the one or two time-limited exclusives.

@Truegamer79 A lot of us have the money to burn on things like this though. So bring on the Switch 2 with a small collection of overpriced games I say.

@Smug43 Yeah, reminds me of some of the worst moments in Pokemon SV. How are games this old coming out so unoptimised for Switch? Do they just run them in an emulator and don't even bother to refactor the code?

Is a short cinematic meant to get people hyped? Where's the gameplay? They might as well not even bother to announce it.

@nala310 Indeed. I also feel like the quality of the system is good enough relative to the scale of foreseeable future computing enhancements that it could be a viable system for new indie style games for a long time to come yet.

I think the Switch is amazing personally. It could go on for another twenty years and I would still enjoy it. There are a lot of timeless games on there, like Stardew Valley. So I see no reason why it couldn't keep being successful, it would just craft a niche.

@Zuljaras Given it's the best selling game of all time, they are obviously just a loud and whiny minority. In reality, Minecraft is an amazing game that caters to almost any type of gamer.

CEX is 10x better than GAME because it has all the second hand stuff, including retro. GAME has nothing.

Not a fan of spoilers myself. It smacks of a lack of ethical integrity. I even get mad when media organisations spoil the heck out of a game after release with clickbait articles for every bit of it. I'll refuse to read them again. Nintendo Life is pretty good at not doing this thankfully <3

@IceClimbersMain 15 would be considered very cheap where I live. Store brought pizzas are 7 Euros, ordering them is usually 20+.

I wonder why people leak stuff like this? What kind of kick do they get out of it? I know there are people without self-control who want to know, but it also ruins things for other people, the companies themselves become more secretive and at time I'm sure there's people who lose their jobs.

I got this on Switch and it's kind of fun, but the graphics are weird and the fan whirs like it does for no other game. I feel like I should have just gotten it on Steam instead. That said, it's worth getting on Switch if you do not have a PC and want to play a space based crafting/survival game.

Scarlet and Violet were the best Pokemon games yet in my view. They didn't run the best, and it could have been better. But I think it'll serve as a good base going forward. The freedom of running around in a big open world and searching for pokemon is unparalleled
