This week sees the release of the second Mario Kart 8 DLC pack, which brings new racers, circuits and vehicles to the Wii U's premier racing title. However, for many players these additions pale in comparison to the pack's most important feature: the introduction of a blazingly-fast 200cc race class.
To celebrate this event, StreetPass groups up and down the UK are planning social gatherings where players can come along and test their skill on the track.

Wow, nothing in London, I'm suprised.
StreetPass South Wales Founder here. Just stopping by to thank Nintendo Life for promoting our event.
The group I am part of (Streetpass East Anglia) is having a Mario Kart 8 cup on the 5th May in Norwich at the Whalebone pub. 6pm - 10pm.
@Folkloner No problem!
No west Midlands
Wouldn't it just be easier to hold online tournaments?
Not really surprised that Southampton isn't there haha!
If they held one in London, it would've been a hit.
@ledreppe this let's people get together in person and trash-talk each other. Much better than online.
Not that there's any near me, but I'd rather spend the weekend enjoying the new content before going off to an event to play other people. Why always so close? There were events right after the release last year, before many had even had 24 hours to play it.
(I get that everyone is on the same level then but what happened to enjoying a game before getting competitive?)
@PAppleyard StreetPass Birmigham is doing a StreetPass Event this Saturday and I am aiming to do Mario Kart 8 late May time.
When will the second DLC will be released?
I thought it was on the 28th.
@Gridatttack 23rd April.
@Baker1000 I run StreetPass Newcastle, and whilst I can't confirm that other groups do the same, we run tournaments for MK8 around every 2 weeks - so it's not just the initial release which has them (it's just that the intial ones that get the press coverage)
Why not join your local group - you may find that that they'll be doing follow up events too
Streetpass east anglia here,
we are running a MK8 tourney at our monthly event so if your based around the norwich area check us out http://streetpassuk.co.uk/event/the-whalebone-cup/
if your not make sure you search out your local streetpass group!
