Gamers in North America have been able to tackle Kirby and the Rainbow Curse on the Wii U for some time, wearing out GamePad touch screens in the latest HAL title starring the pink puffball. Its journey to PAL regions - as Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush - has taken longer, but it's finally due this week on 8th May.
Ahead of release there's a new launch trailer, which is certainly a pretty strong showing for the Wii U exclusive. It's a fair bit longer than the North America equivalents from earlier in the year, covering most important aspects of the game.
If you're a potential PAL owner, or still on the fence in North America, check it out and let us know what you think.

Looks good
I'll definitely buy this and the upcoming S.T.E.A.M. not only to support Nintendo, but mainly because those are GOOD games.
Really looking forward to this! By the way has anyones copy been dispatched yet? Mine hasn't so i'm assuming i'll get to play it on Friday
@Datasun_7 I got an email today from Nintendo's UK store saying the game has been dispatched, but the Kirby plush hasn't yet.
Meh, this is the first 'first party' WiiU game I will not be buying since launch.
I'm not a fan of Kirby anyway, but the whole idea of this game just, annoys me for some reason, and very late release for Europe/PAL regions is ridicules.
@Datasun_7 My copy will arrive tomorrow!
immmm soooo excited
This game is going to be awesome! =D
I was excited for this game until I discovered I could basically only play on the GamePad.
Why waste this gorgeous game on a muddy low-res screen.
@readyletsgo To make up for it. We get Yoshi in June when Americans get Yoshi in November.
Was better than I expected. Pretty fun to play in a group. The primary controls on the GamePad are trickier than I thought they'd be and kept the challenge higher than most Kirby games. It feels significantly different than a traditional platformer, too, which is good because there are so many of those!
@AyeHaley It does look much better on the big HD screen, but we just take turns with the GamePad and playing waddle-dees so we get to see it both ways. Definitely more fun with at least one other person.
@Sanicranfast I'm thinking Yoshi would be more likely October so it doesn't interfere with the big holiday release whatever it'll be. Sure Kirby is looking to be in the same month as Splatoon in Europe but we'll find out tomorrow whether NoE decides to delay Splatoon to post-E3 to release at the same time as the hardware bundle.
@Sanicranfast Haha, I had no idea we get yoshi so early! Why do Ninty do that?
I have yoshi paid off an all, so can't wait for it. Hope to God it gets good review scores.
Was on the fence for a long time but finally ordered it. The gameplay mechanic seems interesting.
I really don't see any reason why I wouldn't love this game, but I'm waiting anyway. Splatoon and Yoshi first.
I am feeling slightly conflicted with the amiibo that are compatible with this game...
The reason why I feel this way is because I actually own a Kirby, King Dedede AND Meta Knight amiibo, but I don't think I could bring myself to actually open them and scan them on my Nintendo Wii U Gamepad for the in-game uses because of how rare and hard to find those three amiibo figures actually are...
This is a fantastic game guys. And it looks gorgeous on the gamepad, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. INFINITELY better than Canvas Curse on the DS- both visually and gameplay-wise.
@Alundra-1998
I say Amiibos are meant to be enjoyed. I open all mine, and I've got em all (literally every single one). Unless you plan on selling them one day... but me, I know I'm not going to sell them because I bought them to use and display on my shelf. Just saying, if it makes you feel any better, I don't think you'll regret opening them because you never would've bought them in the first place if money was an issue, and if mony's not an issue then you're probably not ever going to resell them anyways.
Pre-ordered mine back in March and it should be here Friday Splatoon has still been my most eagerly anticipated game since it was announced a year ago, but Kirby still looks fantastic. I think the control scheme is going to be very interesting. Is it just me though or does the game look quite challenging in some parts from that video lol?
