Re: Rayman Creator Michel Ancel Announces Retirement From The Games Industry

DK-Fan

I thought he retired some time ago.

Seriously though, good for him. He has always been very active and known even if he never had a huge impact like other famous developers and his games has always been more niche. The Rabbids may have been an exception but that has gone on another path for some time now.

Good luck in his future endevours.

3DS was an interesting console. It was never as successful as the Game boy and DS families but it was successful enough to keep Nintendo afloat during the disastrous Wii U era. It has good games but very few memorable ones.

I had one and if it wasn't for Animal Crossing, I may have stopped playing with it. It was a cool console anyhoo and has a solid library. Its VC was awesome.

You guys are referring to that snorefest we saw on monday? really?

that indie showcase was bad. and according to the internetz I MUST buy those games because they were made by DIVERSE! people? seriously? even if the gameplay looks generic and boring?

Indie games are terrible. They are the polar opposite of the industry games just more pretentious and condescending.

Re: Poll: Did The Nintendo Direct Mini: Partners Showcase Meet Your Expectations?

I know that it was supposed to be small. That's fine. But after months of being quiet, it was dissapointing.

Only like 5 games in total? and only niche games? come on! I'm sorry but very few cares or give a damn about SMT. It's a super niche series. That wrestling game look awful. Another uninteresting battle royale game and cadence of hyrule getting DLC is just meh.

I find hard to believe that Nintendo cannot do a proper Direct with trailers because of the goddamn Covid when even smaller companies can do it. I don't know why they are so apathetic.

They are so drunk with the Switch success that they are forgetting that good will can be damaged if they on't strike that apathy soon.

Re: Nintendo's Mobile Business Is Here To Stay

@Zorox88 check the sales peaks. When Mario Kart Tour was released, sales for MK8DX had a bump. The same for Animal crossing. The same goes for Pokemon Go (although it is not 100% Nintendo but the VC games had a huge bump in sales and many pre-orders for Ultra sun and moon increased).

There is a relation between the mobile apps use and the console games sales, either you want to admit it or not.

Re: Nintendo To Cut Back On Mobile Games After Animal Crossing Success, Says Report

DK-Fan

Of course, all Nintendo fans are happy with this. They cannot stand the fact that are other people out there with other tastes than them.

This is interesting. It has been known that the Wii U failure and the 3DS underwhelming success was the motivation to make mobile games, after Pachmoron and pseudo Nintendo fans were asking for Nintendo to ditch their hardware and go third party or full mobile. Nintendo's mobile games were never intended to replace consoles but to have an extra income in case Switch failed.

Now is not the case anymore so is obvious that they will slow down but I doubt they'll leave their mobile business because, for better or worse, they gave money to them and help them survive the transition to Switch.

I think Nintendo mobile games were very good for what they were designed: have extra income and attract new users to their consoles. And it worked, if not as good as they expected.

But most importantly, it laughs in the face of all the morons that wanted Nintendo go third party and proved them wrong. And that's the best part all of it.
