First of all, why you assume that Super Mario Party would get DLC? they never promised it or mentioned it. When was the last time a Mario Party game had DLC?

More a reimagination than a sequel. You can see how Miyamoto was pissed off that the "dirty peaseants" prefered classic 2D Mario than his 3D experiments and made this "sequel" more linear and 2D than its predecessor.

Of course it sold even less than Galaxy and didn't even reach the heights of NSMB. xD

Their software works because they have their own hardware. If they become third party they will become as generic as bland as sega, EA, Activision and countless other Souless third parties.

Mobile is a different issue because they are not making full games for them. And even so, their are doing much better with their consoles and games than on mobile.

Why comparing Nintendo with STREAMING SERVICES?! Doesn't make any sense.

They also mention that Nintendo hasn't grown as much as EA or Activision....is like comparing Apple to Watermelons. Nintendo makes Hardware/Software. Ea and Activision doesn't for starters. Also Nintendo has improving in the last years. Didn't they check on that?

All it tells me is that these investors are just investing on Nintendo because of its recently momentum thanks to the Codvid pandemic making everybody staying at home. But they cannot even understand that. The comparisons they make are BS and like a way to explain their investment without knowing why.

Anyway, good for Nintendo. But I hope, really HOPE, that they don't listen to them.

Time to dust-off Splatoon 2

For example, not making a 2D Mario game, one of Nintendo IPs that sell hardware and is loved by gamers of all ages, just because HE DOESN'T LIKE TO MAKE THEM, is a show of arrogance.

Puting a moron that doesn't like nor understand nor cares about Zelda just because "he made dolls in college" is pure arrogance.

Making a mediocre Star Fox game with terrible controls just to prove that he was right about the Gamepad (proving that he wasn't in the way) and blaming the gamers for not liking is arrogance.

And by the way, saying customers didn't get it when one of his projects failed (Pikmin for example) is pure arrogance.

If anything, he should have retired a long time ago and let younger developers do their job. He is and always be respected but treating him like a God is not constructive in any way.

So yeah...Nintendo will be very fine without him. Maybe even better.

Wasn't this a terrible game and everybody hated it?

I understand remaking 2 and 3. Their engines and controls became a barrier for new gamers and they needed to be updated.

But 4? That game still holds up very well even after almost 20 years. Of course that they are doing it because of the success of 2 and 3 but still...is a useless idea.

So far I have Virtua Racing, Shinobi and Sonic 2. I also plan to get Phantasy star and maybe Wonderboy Monsterland...

...to be honest, I want them all ;P once a sega fan, always a sega fan!

@premko1 That's stupid. Mario Maker is a construction/platfromer game, not a proper 2D Mario. It will never replace it.

You "fans" should know already that 2D Marios are the heart of the company. It's the one that mainstream audiences know and like. 3D Marios are only for fans and Miyamoto's ego.

This isn't the first time they have reported rumors like this. However I am all for remasters of the classic 2D Marios, even more than the 3D ones.

But it seems very unlikey. Too much work for a single year. Galaxy is already on Nvidia Shield so maybe they would port that one (or not) and 3DWorld is much easier.

How can people shrug and accept this while whined and made tantrums about the Wii Shovelware (which never stoop so low like this) is beyond me

I was never interested in Animal Crossing until I got it from the old Club Nintendo rewards and I fell in love with it. I have been enjoying Pocket Camp and I can't wait for New Horizons!

@CairiB It's a much more downsizing version of the formula but is still very fun. It's a nice way to make the wait for New Horizons tolerable Besides is free so what do you have to lose for?

@PikPi Except that there were many other games on the Game Cube that sold a lot and even moved hardware. Pikmin has never moved hardware and even the Wii re-releases had modest sales.

The truth is, Pikmin is not a mainstream game that sells hardware which is the type of game Nintendo gives priority. Pikmin is only for N64Kids and nothing else. It's a niche game.

I think there will be a 4th part soon but it will take some time.
