Re: Feature: Hopes and Dreams for Nintendo's 2017

I just want the silly thing to be in stock. I refused to play the eBay game for the mini. I wanted a Wii on launch day and it took me weeks to find one. Maybe ban them from eBay or something. eBay guaranteeeing a price of $220 for the mini was ridiculous and artificially inflated the price. If I can't get a switch easily I'll just wait a few months and my confidence in Nintendo further eroded.

Re: Video: This Secret Pikachu in Pokémon GO Completely Passed Us By

I chose Charmander but found a Pikachu on the second day. I've since hatched another Charmander and caught two Bulbasaurs. No sign of squirtle though. Maybe I need to find more water.

BTW the servers are terrible this evening. It's been unplayable for several hours. I've actually caught a few and it just freezes. That's when I can actually log on to the game. I even checked NintendoLife.com assuming it was because they had launched in Europe and Asia, but aparrently not.

Re: Feature: What Are Your Thoughts, So Far, on Pokémon GO?

Claytonbob

I just want to warn the Europeans what to expect. In the 4 days this game has come out its taken off like wildfire and I would expect most of the US population has heard of it. It's in the top stories of the Associated Press, local news etc warning of dangers of not paying attention and getting hurt. In middle Tennessee there are dozens of people at the local park, all glued to their phones or literally yelling "Pokemon" to people they pass in their cars. It's weird, it's like a holiday or something. People are stopped in the middle of the road or on the side of the road in random places staring at their phones. It's so easy to pick them out. It's like some video game infection. The small park I mentioned has like 10 Pokestops and 2 gyms. I live 20 mins away on a dirt road and there are zero Pokemon here. No joke, they did NOT place any Pokemon in the wild. It's just an urban and suburban game. I'm disappointed in that part. I thought for sure I could catch plenty of them in my 8 acre filed. As for gyms there are several but seem to be beaten within a few minutes by another team. I did manage to hold one for 4 hrs or so in one random gym in the middle of nowhere. I like the game, but it needs more Pokemon in the wild.

Re: Talking Point: Five Years of eShop Progress Doesn't Mask Nintendo's Next-Gen Challenge

Nintendo please get rid of the paging. Showing me 10 games at a time is beyond tedious. I don't really care for the 3DS eshop structure. I feel I can never find the things I want in there. Also show me the download size before I commit the funds for a game. Finally yes please allow a game to be on multiple systems at once. I now have to either buy physical or purchase the game on my 3DS and separately on my daughters.

Re: Nintendo is Getting Into the Movie Business

Claytonbob

I think the issue is most of the games are rather silly. DK64 had a Crocodile attack an island of monkeys with a floating island. The game is fun but who wants to watch a movie like that? I'd rather them try and make a serious live action movie. Metroid is my first thought but Zelda has potential. Mario, while I love him, I'm just not sure I can stomach him in live action and I fear an animated version would just be to silly to watch as well.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of My Nintendo and Miitomo?

Claytonbob

I live in the sticks where they limit your downloads per month to 5GB. Nintendo expects me to purchase and download a game twice to share between my 3DS and daughters 2DS. Amazon gives like 15-20% off new games for prime members. I RARELY download a game, why would I? As for Miitomo I have no friends with Nintendo hardware so that game is useless to me. I'll get enough points to get Zelda Picross then delete it from my phone. It's sucks battery like crazy anyways.

Re: Editorial: Accessibility Through Optional 'Invincibility' Buffs Can Only Be a Positive for Nintendo

Claytonbob

I'm excited for this option. My kids are 5 and 3. They were quite excited to see the Star Fox trailers. Now they can actually play the game. They won't care they are invincible. They will have fun and that's what matters. When I was young we always turned on infinite lives on our NES game genie. It allowed us to enjoy SMB3, TMNT2 etc. who cares if it's easier. We had fun and got to levels we would never have seen without it.

Re: Editorial: Nintendo's Virtual Console Revolution Must Wait as We Pay Once More for SNES Games

Claytonbob

I refuse to buy any of these games again on my 3DS since I own them on Wii and Wii U. Nintendo's model is frustrating. I have 2 iPads in which I only buy the game once. Same is true for our 3 Kindle Fires. Now I have bought my daughter a 2DS and have to buy all games physical so we can swap them. I prefer digital but I'm not paying for them for each device. Why can't my Nintendo account own the rights to play the game on any of my devices like Apple and Amazon do? It's frustrating and until fixed I'll be very careful what VC games I buy. So it's actually. So owning more consoles in which j have to choose has reduced the number of VC games I'm buying.
