Fashionably late to the party as ever, Mario Party: Star Rush doesn't arrive in North America until 4th November, and with it will come the new entries in the Super Mario amiibo range. One of the most anticipated is the glow-in-the-dark Boo, which ideally would have been out this week in time for a certain special night. Still, we can't have everything we want.
In any case, we were rather charmed by a video promoting the amiibo on the Play Nintendo channel, in which Boo slowly creeps up on Mario. It's cute, and we also see more evidence that real-world Mario would be hopeless at most things. He's playing the 'important executive' role, but clearly can't type properly because of his silly over-sized gloves; with execution like that it's no wonder we get random stuff like the New Galaxy Style New Nintendo 3DS XL...
Are you hoping to pick up a Boo amiibo soon, or are you lucky enough to be in a region where it's already been released? Let us know in the comments.

The boo amiibo is out (in europe anyways), it's been out for about 2 weeks, sitting on my shelf for over a week.
Mario is overdue for an OS upgrade
Why is Mario's computer running Windows XP?
The more amiibo they produce, the less functionality they seem to have...
That Boo Amiibo was REALLY Spooky...
...oh, nevermind. That was just a dream.
Anyway, looks so gorgeous in the dark.
My Boo amiibo does not glow in the dark like that. It's Boo, but not glow-in-the-dark.
Cute ad.
Side note: that's the same model laptop I have at work.
@samuelvictor Yes. Yes it does. 😉
If I saw a glow-in-the-dark Boo in stores I would buy it b/c I like glowing stuff, but I doubt I'l look for it.
OK, I did just look for it on Amazon but it isn't currently available and it doesn't mention being glow-in-the-dark so I probably wouldn't buy i ton there just in case they are selling a non-glowing version.
Still no Cloud and Bayonetta amiibo anywhere. Amazon only has Japanese imports of the MH amiibo. All the new Zelda amiibo are currently unavaible. Gee, I can't imagine why amiibo sales have declined.
@rjejr - you can find Amiibos at every major store. Here I found Animal Crossing figures, and over at this store Animal Crossing figures, and at this store.... Animal Crossing figures..... Hmmmmm.... Starting to see a trend here. On a side note I think I can now buy Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival with every Animal Crossing Amiibo for what the game originally cost.
@Menchi187 Yes, I'm aware
@samuelvictor It's amazing how many business and company laptops still use XP. I guess they don't want to pay loads of money on a bunch of new licenses.
@Calllack
Yup, Mario running Windows XP. Time to be retro indeed.
Dear Mario,
How do you type with boxing gloves on?
Mario running xp and apparently using a apple program on it as well.
i plan to get Waluigi my favorite Mario series character.
No! I've no intention of buying the Boo amiibo. God damn that ad was lame.
So the Boo amiibo glows in the dark and causes havoc every time Mario gets the urge to fire up his Onion browser and hit the dark web?
@Sakura try holding it under a light bulb for a couple of seconds.. such is the way with most GITD toys
I love all the new amiibo! And Star Rush is truly fantastic. Definitely 10/10
Haha! Cute commercial.
@ottospooky Ah, that's better! Though duration is not long. Do you happen to know the science behind it?
Edit: Found it. Seems the phosphors need to be charged. Well, you learn something new every day.

And it does indeed glow in the dark (when you've held it under a light for a while).

@samuelvictor Haha, no, we're all using current day systems. I did work for a major broadcaster once though, in IT, and I believe they're still rocking XP to this day.
@samuelvictor And I'm aware that many banks have machines and ATMs that run XP and their websites run as a Java applet .
As IT i can understand the saying of "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" but I knew that statement made sense for only so long.
"Luigi, you are a genius! The new color swap for Nintendo..."
Seems Mario has no trouble typing properly.
Thank goodness I preordered one asap, though I sure hope many other people will get a chance.

"Duh-duh-duh-duh-Deeeear Strong Bad,
How can you type with boxing gloves on?
Sincerely Mario, Comma."
Judging by the video, Mario's password is probably 3 tap on the keyboard that makes something like that: bpf738v0b-bf-87b3v478bîuvb378baw0b;`bà 4p897ag4pbva4òia4v89bavìoba4wv^89ahbvw4`buioab4we9^8gwaòbag789gba789ag4ubag4^9bag4
XP is still a pretty solid OS to this day.
Come talk to me when someone still uses Mac OS 9 on a day-to-day basis. Then I'll be surprised.
Actually, come talk to me when anybody discovers that a corporation uses OS X at all. Everyone uses Microcrap's OS instead these days. It boggles the mind.
The glow in the dark thing reminds me of the 90s when everything was gimmicky and fun.
@Dr_Corndog
Oh, relax. Mario just only 'pretend' typing something. XD
And then Boo Amiibo suddenly appear and terorize Mario.
@Tempestryke
Cute and Creepy commercial actually... XD
Imagine if that Boo Amiibo really spooky...
Mario Teaches Typing XP Edition coming soon?
@JohnBlackstar A couple of weeks ago I counted over 100 AC amiibo in a Target, and 1 re-skinned Inkling girl. I felt so bad for the inkling girl that I bought her even though we already had the original. At another Target I saw the by inkling surrounded by the AC amiibo so I bought him too. Each was only $3.98 so not a big deal, but yeah AC amiibo every, and only AC amiibo everywhere.
In case you didn't now Animal Crossing: New Leaf: Welcome amiibo is due an update this "Fall"/"holiday" that will let those amiibo work w/ the game, so I'm guessing they are holding onto them until then. But they better make a lot more of those portals b/c I'm guessing most people who bought that game in 2013 have the original non-NFC 3DS. And of course no 2DS has ever had NFC. Could be some confused mom's this Christmas - I'd like to buy my daughter a 2DS, AC:NL:Wa and some amiibo. OK, just don't expect them to work together.
Please! That Waluigi Amiibo is 10x scarier than any boo! I'm keeping mine chained up in an underwater safe so when it comes to life at night it won't kill me in my sleep!
