Two weeks ago Nintendo of Europe launched its eShop Five Year Anniversary Sale with more than 40 games getting discounts. It didn't have the same wow factor as the equivalent promotion in Japan, but it's nevertheless given gamers in the region opportunities to grab some quality games at a decent discount.
Well, it ends soon, at 23:59 UK (23rd June) / 00:59 CET (24th June) - as Nintendo has reminded us below.
If you want any of the deals you need to move fast - the full list is below.

Still nothing of interest for me except for SMT, which I got a few weeks back.
And I kinda have all the VC games in one form or another.
There's about 3 or 4 games on the list that I don't already have, and they're not particularly exciting to me.
Can anybody sell me on either Pokemon: TCG or Zen Pinball? I'm not massively into card games or pinball machines, but if they are really good I might give 'em a shot.
If you haven't played these, then get these!
Super Mario World
Super Mario Bros 3
Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past
Earthbound
Super Metroid
Child of Light
Nano Assault NEO
SteamWorld Dig
Legend of Zelda Links Awakening
Legend o Zelda Oracle of Seasons
Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages
This must be a 5 month sale...
I bought Links awakening and Oracle of Ages I already have Oracle of Seasons
And I bought Boxboy! really looking forward to play it.
Maybe I will buy DK64
@Moon I enjoyed Pokemon TCG a lot, enough to collect all the cards, and I'm also not into TCG games generally. The most I've played is Yu-Gi-Oh years ago, and only in video game form. I think it's worth it, especially at that price.
Got quite a lot of stuff off this sale. It came right on time for me too, as I just got my Wii U like a month ago. Along with the Humble Bundle games, I have a nice big pile of games to keep me busy now.
@Moon For some reason I enjoyed Pokemon TCG even more than the red and blue versions back in the day. I think the game it's also a bit more challenging, wich is always welcome to me when itcomes to the pokemon games.
i wanted sale like europe with full of VC !!! since they have a fixed price and e shop is the only way to get them !!! and with sale it will be nice i can have lots of VC ! ... but with this horrible sales i don't care since bought most of games for cheaper price on retail so i have dost of the list above
Is the NA sale still going?
If it wasn't for this sale I prob would not have gotten nes remix, so glad I did
I think I did pretty well with what I got, it's not often I buy multiple games in such a short place of time on the eShop. I got Kirby's Dream Land, Link's Awakening, Mario Bros 2/3 for nostalgic fun. ^_^ I was pleasantly surprised by BoxBoy. (wasn't even part of this sale!) On the Wii U however, all of the games which got my interest were ones I'd previously got anyways. I was hoping Yoshi's Story would have been part of it!
@Totallynot: It ended yesterday, unfortunately.
I would have rather had Europe's sale than what we got in North America. Not only was there more variety with this one, but the discounts were more generous as well.
I actually would have preferred the European discounts than the NA ones.
Got all or most of them already.
Managed to give a 25€ eShop card to my Xbox-loving friend. His 3DS now has Super Mario Bros. 1, Bros. 2, Bros. 3, Land 1, Land 2, Zelda Link's Awakening, Zelda Oracle Of Ages, Zelda Oracle Of Seasons, Gunman Clive and Pullblox/Pushmo.
I'm proud of this, as I only took advantage of the Pullblox/Pushmo and BoxBoy discounts given I already had most of the other games. Good sale! Hopefully we'll see more of this in the future.
I got Zen Pinball 3D.
Only got BoxBoy which is a cool game but Nintendo could've put more games of their own for sale, what about the sequels to pullblox, dissapointed.
I owned almost everything already, but I picked up quite a few games. I missed out on Boxboy though, but its okay as it's only $6.50 so nothing really lost.
I'm more happy about Atlus' permanent price drops. Etrian Odyssey Untold is amazing.
@Moon : I'm not particularly wild about card games either, but Pokémon TCG is fantastic and is one of my most played games on 3DS (I assume that you're a fan of Pokémon). I've had as much fun with it now as I did back in the day. The only downside is that you're limited to only the Base series, and the Fossil and Jungle expansions. There was a Japan-only sequel that also included the Rocket expansion, as well as some Japan-exclusive "Vending Machine" cards, but the game was never released outside of Japan. I would love to see a new game done in this style on 3DS (and less like that F2P TCG Online crap on PC/tablets), but The Pokémon Company hates money, so...
Last year, my cousin in Turkey (who doesn't know English) loved it, and managed to complete the game at least twice over. He frequently asked me to translate this and that but he managed to best the game on his own, which I feel speaks wonders about the quality of the game if he managed to enjoy it.
I only wish that they had incorporated local multiplayer in the same way that they had done for the Red/Blue/Yellow VC release.
@TMG44 I haven't played the Oracle games in ages. How have they held up? I remember the Goron dancing mini game driving me crazy at the time.
It's just been my birthday so I bought so many of these games on offer. And Smash 3DS. Got so many gold coins on mynintendo now- hope they put some decent new full games on there to download soon!
I was hoping that we would have the same sale in NA but we got much less. I did pick up Majoras Mask 3D, Oracle of Seasons, and Oracle of Agea though. I'm still holding out for Links Awakening DX and all the Mario games to go on sale here for my 3DS.
No 5yrs sale for North America????
Damn, dope sale
Should I get pokemon link battle? Or is it exactly like shuffle?
@Ninten-san omfg i hate that song so much...
ontopic: might get super mario bros 3
Which sale? Oh you mean those cheap indie and VC games that people either already have or don't care about? That doesn't qualify as a 5 year anniversary sale for me, it's just another day on the eshop.
At this point, they should've made an anniversary sale where either every game in the whole eshop or at least all the big games are on sale.
Judging by that definition, the only game on sale was Smash Bros. U. for 35€.
Nintendo should really learn more from Valve.
Had MOST of I've wanted but did downloand LTTP. Oh one of my Zelda loves among WW and OoT.
...I also downloaded OoT with that price. Not that I have several copys of it already. But still.
I was bit disappointed. Smash discount? doesn't everyone have Smash already? I've waited (or husband has) Ken's Rage to drop another 10€ but no D:
I never picked up or played Ocarina of Time as I'd moved on from the N64 by the time it came out...Dunno what it was but I just never got as much enjoyment as I thought I would out of it. But seeing as I've recently completed Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD, I figured why not for the price it's going for.
@Mr_Zurkon I can't believe they're still as good as over a decade ago !
