I rarely play online but like to have the option when it crosses my mind. My daughter plays Splatoon 2 quite a bit. Guess it’s a family plan for me. Still reasonably priced but wish the $20 would cover one concurrent user as I only have 1 Switch. So because she has her own profile I guess the family plan is what I have to get. Sure I’ll take the free games and will play them. I do lament the loss of VC. I think it’s a poor choice. I would love to have a large back platform list of games I could take with me everywhere I go. I’d also like to play MARIO Sunshine again some day.
I sent both of my left joy cons back. If I kicked back and my knee or foot got in between it and the Switch it wouldn’t respond to stick movement or button presses. They “fixed” them and sent them back in a week for free. I’ve only noticed an issue once since then. So they are better.
I’d like to see a review first. They look cool but online reviews of the company weren’t so hot. Mostly people saying it takes them days to ship. Also will the joycons still fit in the grip afterwards? I’d like to see Mario, Yoshi, Bowser, etc joycons made by Nintendo. I’d drop $80 for another set, because I’m nuts.
We’ve built the RC Car and fishing game. My kids like to punch out the parts but have me assemble them. It’s probably for the best. I’m amazed at the quality. It’s cardboard but the builds feel really solid and it’s crazy to hear cardboard parts literally click when you put them together. The fishing game is also extremely accurate. How they do it is beyond me. The software is a bit quirky requiring you to go thru the tutorial for each user who wants to play. It also requires you to go thru a lot of text dialogue to show you how to use the advanced features of the RC Car. Ok for kids but I wish I could just get the highlights without the dialog. Overall it’s fun, my kids like it, and I’m impressed with what those crazy folks at Nintendo can come up with.
It being easy sounds ok to me. I plan on playing it with my young children and they are not looking for a challenge just a fun, silly thing to do with dad.
I love my Switch and the kids do too, but I’m hestitant to buy them their own, not only due to price of the system but I need some form of family sharing for purchased content like on the iPads.
I’m starting to feel like the eshop is just like the Apple App Store. Maybe some of these games are good but how do you tell. It’s just a ton of seemingly low budget titles. I’m not complaining, but it seems like too many to be honest.
A little warning would have been nice. O well, nice lineup. My wallet hurts already. Most interested in the Hyrule Warriors, Kirby, Mario Tennis, and Rabbits expansion. I already have Tropical Freeze. I’m not familiar with the third party offerings but will look into them.
We get excited because we want these improvements to the system. All are quite reasonable. I love Nintendo but sometimes they can be so slow at adding in these types of things. Rather than spending effort to get this stuff off the internet why not spend it on giving the fans what they want? Anyone remember the Netflix disc for Wii, yet the Switch can’t do it.
Haven’t played it yet. Of course I’d rather see it on Switch. I would definitely get it on Switch. If it’s on 3DS but cheaper than today, I may get it anyways.
I enjoy the original games the most. I like the simple, gotta catch em all. Now there are like a thousand Pokémon that’s too many. Will there be 10,000 some day? Also the mega evolutions, z moves etc seem too much. I just want to catch them, train them, and battle them. I have Moon, I like it, but it had too much of that. Then I found some castle village and had no idea what to do with all that so I just ignored it all. Still fun but would be happy to go back to a simpler model.
I’ve been reading this site several times a day for maybe 4 years. It’s honestly my favorite site. Tom’s name is so familiar to me. I’ve linked his name and the site together to be nearly synonymous. I’ll miss him.
I’m surprised at the comments as well. I thought it was great, different sure, but I’ve been losing interest in the old formula. This is the first game since Skyrim on XBox that I’ve invested huge amounts of time in. It still has twice the hours on my Switch than Stardew Valley and Skyrim. I would like a reimagining of Ocarina of Time in the future but still hope the next game is like Breath of the Wild.
I’m playing Skyrim a lot and I’m really enjoying using the bow to bring down the baddies. I wish headshots counted but it’s still quite satisfying. I normally use it in handheld mode and aiming works great. Yes I get turned around occasionally but it’s still a great improvement over just the right stick.
Your comment about troubled looks is right. Why is it anyone who likes video games especially Nintendo get troubled looks? No one is embarrassed by their Gucci bag or Starbucks cup in their hand. No one rolls their eyes when someone’s coffee mug, shirt, and backpack show some sports team’s logo, yet if you have a Mario game case, people think your some crazy nerd or He’s too old for that.
Nintendo, you ever heard of the Switch? Joking aside I don’t really want to get games for systems I rarely use anymore. I’m holding out for Switch games.
I’m just glad Nintendo is upping the brand awareness. My kids and I have been playing Mario UNO for several nights in a row. Doesn’t really change the game but still fun to see MARIO on the cards.
Ive experienced several of these bugs. Mostly the the crash on save if certain tools were missing. I’d store non essential tools, make food in the kitchen then hit the mine. Make tons of riches then it would crash on save. Turned out the mix of missing tools and a gap in a storage chest caused by using the kitchen caused it. It was quite frustrating. Glad they fixed it.
Sounds great. I would like them to make the font size on the inventory items count slightly bigger. It’s hard to see from the couch, even on a 40 inch screen.
I’ve previously posted I feel I live on a Nintendo island surrounded by family Xboxes and PlayStations. But in the past month two family members have set their PlayStation controllers down and bought a Switch. I feel the island is getting bigger.
My 7 year old has made it to New Donk City on her own while using assist mode. She’s a happy camper. Yes I would like her to play it without assist but she’s having the time of her life and learning the 3D controls. She does really good, thanks for adding it Nintendo.
I may be open to two switches at my house but first need cloud saves and ability to access them from both switches and some way to purchase a game for both without paying retail twice. Not sure how that would work to keep people from gaming the system. Now I buy a game once and the family enjoys it. I struggle to see myself buying MARIO Odyssey twice.
I never got into Mario Galaxy. It was fun but going upside down confused me, do I push the stick up or down? I enjoyed Odyssey and beat it already, now I’m finding a lack of motivation to gather all the power moons. Honestly I wanted to be playing Stardew Valley this weekend but forced myself to beat Mario Odyssey. I did enjoy the ending of Odyssey and it was worth it.
That’s a lot of games. I’m not sure how many will be available physically but I’ll be excited to see Nintendo get some shelf space at the stores again. They have been crammed into a small corner at too many stores for too long.
Glad I didn’t get into this. Still have a bazillion Disney Infinity figures though. Actually wish they would make a downloadable Switch version of it so I don’t have to break out the Wii U for the kids to play it.
I haven’t finished the Zelda DLC or Mario + Rabbids. I broke down and got Stardew Valley which is great. Mario is on the horizon. Just finished Iron cast. Going to get Skyrim but hold till Christmas to open, Doom will have to wait till next year. The next round of Zelda DLC is coming soon. I’m buried in games. Good deal.
I gave up when I wasnt able to get a preorder and was on vacation yesterday far away from any store. I did however see Switches on the shelves in two different Walmarts in Alabama. One even had 3 in stock. Glad to see them start appearing.
I was thinking of picking it up and instead of getting the power packs just using my amiibo for all the characters. I have a ton, might as well use them. Then I can make up my own abilities for Bowser Jr etc. maybe Marth or Samus drops in too, we'll see.
$150 for NBA 2K18 Legend Gold Edition. Honestly I have no idea how it's different from the core game and if someone wants to pay this good for them. I just can't fathom a single game costing so much or myself ever paying that.
As @jimi said, its not a modification directly to their ROM. It is a separate application that's modifies how the ROM works. It really doesn't seem much different than the old Game Genie to me, and look how popular that was. Nintendo didn't shut that down.
@tobibra And the screen was on when he pulled it from his bag.
I do wish they would advertise more and hope they get more 3rd party support. Its slowly coming. I still feel like I'm on an island. Friends and family all play Xbox or PS4. I'm the only Nintendo guy.
No emails, no alerts and was signed up for them. I wake up at 6:15 AM only to find I should have stayed up all night. What a broken system. How were we to know?
Already preordered. I don't mind the rabbids. Had it not included Mario I would have hesitated but probably still ordered. More excited about this than I was Arms or Splatoon 2.
Sounds good but I still have the game cube version I can break out. Also it's hard to read the article from my phone with 13 ads and 2 plugs for NintendoLife on Facebook. Seems a bit extreme.
Just got it, plugged it in, 7 year old says "I'm so excited" then we realize there is no form of split screen in any way. Sure the game may be good but nintendos new portable platform that's supposed to be shared with family and friends fails on splatoon 2 miserably for my family. I'm not spending $350 on a 7 year old so we can both play.

Re: Pre-Orders For Nintendo Labo Are Now Available On Amazon
My kids went nuts when they saw the trailer and watched it twice. I thought why not and ordered the variety kit.
Re: Nintendo Announces Labo, A Range Of Interactive DIY Toys For Switch
But if you want it it will be 6 months before it’s available in stores. Scalpers will like it. That or Nintendo will discontinue it after 6 months.
Re: Hands On: The Future Of Gaming Is Cardboard, Thanks To Nintendo Labo
I see nothing about this on the US Nintendo site.

Did not expect this. Its definitely interesting. Guess I need to see the price.
Re: Random: Counting The Screws In NES Cartridges Is A Big Deal For Collectors

Fingers still crossed for GC VC. I want to play Mario Sunshine again, even if you guys hate it. Though I doubt they want it to release near Odyssey.
