TANK TROOPERS Reporting For Duty On 3DS This Winter

The latest Nintendo Direct - focused primarily on the 3DS - delivered a number of expected announcements and updates, but TANK TROOPERS came as a surprise in between Pokémon and Mario.

This newly announced game for the 3DS will allow players to customise their very own tank via special characteristics of tank-pilot troopers. The characters in your tank will enable special abilities such as being able to hit enemies with a freeze attack, launch paint balls to block opponents' views or use electric shocks to halt the progress of an enemy tank.

TANK TROOPERS will offer a six-person multiplayer mode, along with a much welcomed Download Play feature as well.

Let us know in the comments if you're excited for TANK TROOPERS arrival on the 3DS, due this 'Winter' in North America and '2017' in Europe..

It didn't quite grab me, but there could be some interesting strategic gameplay here. Once again it seems Europe will have to wait longer though; So I wonder if we are getting a physical release...

This is the game that caught my attention and was the most welcome surprise of the "direct". It's new IP and it looks like a very interesting title. Although, when it first came up, I was thinking the return of Advanced Wars, so I was a little disappointed at first.

I'm actually pretty excited for this. It doesn't look very polished and I need to see some more gameplay and multiplayer options to be convinced, however the character designs look good and I think this has potential to be really fun.

Looked like they were going for a real time CODENAME STEAM so I'm interested. Probably won't be story driven, but it's really hard to tell from an 18 second clip, it's all about the gut reaction. And my gut reaction was good.

I'm half surprised they didn't slap a Starfox skin on it and call it Starfox Assualt 2 or something the way Ntineod has been going lately.

Haven't seen the direct yet, but I'd love a tank game akin to Battletanx on N64. I LOVED the multiplayer, especially as you could have AI controlled teammates and all the different gangs to choose from.

If it has online I'll most likely get it - it somewhat reminded me of Vigilante 8, though it did not look as good. I really wish someone would make a new Vigilante 8.

I have high hopes for this game, it has lots of potential! Hopefully it turns out to be a super fun online title. Unfortunately from what I've seen the stages looks pretty bland and boring.
