Re: Review: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (GameCube)

Boldfoxrd

Just found this and had to post. To me it is the best of the Prime series. I rely should play the Wii version. I only ever finished it on gamecube. It was so tough I deliberately got 100% of items and that was before achievement hunting became my thing.

Prime 1 is phenomenal but in a way it feels a bit like Ocarina of Time being a bit like a 3D link to the past. Prime 1 feels a bit like a 3D Super Metroid. Prime 2 did something completely different and I found it to be the better game. It was so hard too but that just added to the feeling I accomplished something when Dark Samus finally fell.

Wow. I downloaded more mega drive games from 07 til around 11 than any other retro platform. I assumed millions of other gamers did the same.

Then again some companies have ridiculous expectations. I remember what Square Enix thought was likely for Tomb Raider 2013 and it was ridiculous then.

Maybe Sega had ridiculous numbers in mind for wii and didn't quite hit that high, eg 10 million downloads for Sonic 3 and Streets of Rage 2.

Re: Metroid Dread's UK Sales Momentum Points To A Big Moment For The Series

No wonder the original on Wii is now so valuable. I had no idea it was printed in such small numbers. When my friend bought it for me in 09 he had no trouble finding a copy.

I'm glad it's selling well. I thought it might not sell that well. Look at what happened to Prime 3 which came out 10 months after the Wii launched. That should have sold millions but failed.

Re: Unavailability Of Classic Titles Is "Holding Game Culture Back", Says Platinum's Hideki Kamiya

@Old-Red this is the worst thing. In 06 being able to download so many games without resorting to emulators. And seeing this happen on the 360 and PS3 was great. Obviously some games wouldn't come out and I bought so many.

But seeing these games become unavailable on switch and to get just a fraction of them on Switch but only if you pay for a subscription is an insult. I spent around 200 pounds on wii and wii u virtual console games and to be expected to keep spending to get them again is a complete rip off and shows a complete lack of gratitude for what I spent from 06 to 14. I have a wii u with those games but knowing if it brakes down it could all be lost isn't right. Microsoft allow you to move 360 downloads over new consoles. It's awful that Nintendo expect you to pay again, and again.

I just played MK8 for the first time in about 2 years yesterday. I was blown away again, especially after playing the far weaker Wii game just before.

It really is one of the best games ever. I really gotta get the 3 stars on 150cc.

Re: Sonic Mania Is Now 4 Years Old

I would love a follow up in the same style but with the graphics of Sonic Generations. There are still so many levels to return to like Star Light Zone, Aquatic Ruin Zone, Ice Cap Zone, even Master System levels like Bridge Zone and Crystal Egg Zone, as well as new levels of course.

Re: Niantic Assembling Pokémon GO "Task Force" To Address Player Concerns

Yes pokemon go is all about exploration and socialising but I don't think they realise it is still too soon to get back to that. We were happy with how it was during the last year and Niantic need to understand that.

Then again, they have never responded well to feedback. Shutting down fan pokemon tracker sites even when they don't have one of their own, not allowing the removal of eggs people don't want, still not putting kecleon in when its invisibility really doesn't matter, and of course having no true regional rotation system in place.

They can say what they want but they won't listen, not unless they start losing significant money.
