It's been another hectic week of the Nintendo Life. Let's see, there was a Monster Hunter Rise x Street Fighter free update, all sorts of reveals from Gamescom Opening Night Live and follow-up streams, accusations of foul play in the world of retro collecting, a surprising crossover of Puma and Animal Crossing, and the launch of Pokémon TV on Switch. That's only scratching the surface, really, it was a busy ol' week.
After all that it's time to chill out and discuss our weekend gaming plans. A few members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

I should really get back to Metroid: Samus Returns, I suppose. It’s good, but I’m playing it in short bursts and really need to find a few hours to devote to it. Metroid Dread’s approaching fast and time is running out. Beyond that, I’ll probably continue Islanders, which I started tinkering with earlier in the week, and I might download the newly-released Townscaper, too. I’ve followed that game’s development for some time and fell in love with the art style. Fingers crossed that it plays as great as it looks.

I recently picked up This War of Mine: Complete Edition and, though the subject matter is rather grim, I'm intrigued to try it out for the first time. I'm also due a revisit of Monster Hunter Rise to try and catch up with the cool free updates, and it's also weekend tradition to continue my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD; I actually don't play it on weekdays, weirdly. I also plan to pick up Inked: A Tale of Love, a gorgeous looking game that has probably been overlooked by many because of the week's various high profile releases.
Outside of Switch I'm very much enjoying Psychonauts 2, and there's a new season in MLB The Show 21 to lure me in; that game is my greatest addiction and weakness.

Technically, my last WAYP entry was untrue - I said I'd be playing Minecraft, and I didn't have time. Instead, I played Final Fantasy on the NES, and I'll probably do it again this weekend. I've never played a NES game, and the only FF game I've ever played is the remake of FF7 on the PlayStation, so I really don't have much of a reference point for it! It's a little frustrating with the old-school save system and the repetition, but I'm still having fun. The NES buttons - the little concave tablets - are extremely nice to use, and my party is made up of Crug, the Fighter, Belb, the Black Belt, Egg the White Mage, and Sqeb the Black Mage. I love them all very much.

I've been taking a look back at Nintendo's DLC efforts on Switch and really adore their output in 2018. Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna The Golden Country, Mario + Rabbids: DK Adventure and Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion all felt like stand alone entries rather than simple expansions. We're planning a video to highlight a few of these efforts and this weekend I'm going to spend some time delving back through Octo Expansion.
I found the core single player of Splatoon 2 to be fine but perhaps a bit too similar to the original. Octo Expansion on the other hand is bursting with completely new ideas and introduces some serious lore to the Splatoon world. It was hands-down my favourite Splatoon campaign and I can't imagine those thoughts changing with this playthrough.
On the non-Nintendo side (the horror) I started Psychonauts 2 the other day and good lord it's delightful. I can't recall the last non-Mario 3D platformer to feel this fluid and polished. It's incredibly entertaining and I think a lot of Nintendo fans would really like it.

Hello. This weekend I’m gonna be pretty busy wrapping up a few reviews but I’m also absolutely determined to get stuck into No More Heroes III and Spelunky 2 if I manage to get a little bit of spare time. I’ve been patiently awaiting Travis Touchdown’s latest outing – Stuart’s review has got me even more excited – and Spelunky 2, well, it’s just a masterpiece innit, a must-play roguelite masterclass. Oh, and Super Animal Royale just came out...there’s too many good games right now!
Have a good weekend whatever you’re up to or playing!

Hello chums. This weekend I'll be diving back into Guacamelee! for a bit of comforting Metroidvania action. It's been a minute since I last played it, but it's easily one of the best games in the genre, in my opinion.
I'll also be checking out the WarioWare: Get It Together! demo, since everyone's been raving so much about it recently. It's doubtful I'll buy the full game when it's out, but I used to love the older WarioWare titles, so I feel I have to at least give it a try!
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your gaming choices over the next few days...

Playing more of Garden Story and I’m hoping to start Cristales this weekend which I’m really looking forward to
This week I will be mostly playing
Wario Land 4
Mario Kart 8DX
Isn't it usually "what are you playing this weekend?" rather than the week? 🤔
Mostly working through Tony Hawks 1 and 2 for me. Nearly unlocked all the levels. 😃
Playing Skyward Sword, Quake and Cyber Shadow. Also going to continue testing Microsoft X Cloud.
Finished Metroid Samus Returns last week and am now playing through Metroid Prime 2 and after that 3. After that other M (which I’ve never played, I am actually excited) and I’ve completed all Metroid games on hard mode.
Next to that: Back to my backlog completion list, and I’ve now stumbled on the first Souls game ever: Kirby’s Dream Land on hard mode.
Your thumbnail... NMH III
I got Xenoblade Definitive Edition last week for cheap. I played XC1 two years ago on the 3DS and do not want to revisit it yet.
But, I am loving Future Connected. I believe the hype, there is a XC3 coming soon so I want to get up to speed on the extra bits to the main games.
Can't stop playing Rush Rally Origins!
Been playing Bioshock, WRC 9 and F1 2021 On my Xbox Series X.
Hovering over the buy button for Baldo. Very tempting.
Just downloaded Psychonauts 2 on Game Pass so will likely give that a go this weekend.
On nintendo switch i'll be playing skyward sword and donkey kong tropical freeze with some mario kart online races
Also ghost of tsushima directors cut and valhalla on ps5
No more heros 3, it's glorious!
Started Skyward Sword HD and will play some Rocket League before long.
I've been playing a Nintendo Switch for the first time, with the game being Super Mario Odyssey. I'm four years late to the party, but I'm there now.
I finished Ghost of Tsushima's Iki Island expansion, so I've spent a lot of time playing Valkyria Chronicles Remastered on my PS5 lately. I want to finally get that one finished since it's technically been on my actively playing list for a while... I'm really enjoying it, although I really don't like how much your EXP/money are tied to just blasting through each mission at max speed. I'm not good at strategy games so I have to take them slower, and I feel like I'm really getting shafted as a result. I understand if there's some sort of bonus attached to completing missions quickly, but it feels like the game actively punishes you for not taking 3 turns to win. Otherwise, I'm really enjoying the game!
I'll likely play some Cadence of Hyrule: Symphony of the Mask on Switch as well as Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster and Guilty Gear Strive on Steam. I'm close to halfway through Quake I think, but I kind of want to wait to see if the music issue gets patched because it's really weird playing without any audible music.
I played ROBOTS Gamecube version since this morning. 🤓
I have reached Sewer Showdown (chapter 8).
The gameplay so far was quite easy but i felt it will be very linear after some thought. The storyline in game got trimmed a lot as i only saw some preview of specific scenes that continued by the situation that can be displayed in video game.
I bought the Gamecube version as i heard the funfact about ROBOTS that only Gamecube version the game was running in 55 - 60 fps while PS2 & XBOX version in 30 fps.
Definitely some more Hades, and I'm also going to start 'Night in The Woods', sprinkling in some Super Animal Royale.
Super metroid last weekend so this time it's fusion 🙂
On a camping trip last week: no gaming! I miss it! Rush Rally, Need for Speed, Travel Mosaics, Skydrift, Rocket League, ACNH.
Happy gaming everyone!
Some more casual runs in Super Animal Royale, but mostly planning a return to multiple titles I shelved along with my whole PC/console gaming for the past fortnight. FAR Lone Sails, SuperMash, Bioshock 2, Skyrim, Evoland and The Outer Worlds on Switch; Endless Frontier, Rune Factory and Fire Emblem Echoes on (3)DS; Tail Concerto, Blue Reflection and Monster Monpiece on Vita; TESO, Morrowind, Just Cause 2 and Nights of Azure on PC.
About five hours through Boyfriend Dungeon, so should beat that this weekend, from the sounds of things. Feels a bit like a Flash version of Hades, but I’m enjoying it anyway.
Other than that, I’m chipping away at Donkey Kong Country Returns, a level or two at a time. Still amazed at how pretty it is.
No More Heroes III and Axiom Verge 2 for me, happy days.
Monster Train, no doubt. A very easy recommendation to anyone with a slight interest in card battlers and/or roguelikes (and Slay the Spire fans).
Currently on Covenant 6; steadily climbing my way up.
no more heroes is coming today at about 4pm, so i'll be playing that for pretty much the entirity of this month tbh, wandering around the open world or just trying to go for 100%
Psychonauts 2! Gradually over the past month, I also replayed the first game, and Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin to prepare.
I am also eating Psychonauts Cereal, which doesn’t exist, but if it did, I’d totally try it, because I’m a total sucker for Psychonauts!
No more hero’s baby 😊
Spelunky 2 (it’s brutal difficult for me but i like it)
L.A. Noire (i love the setting and detective stories so….)
No more heroes 2 (backlog and the hype of the 3rd got me there)
aaaand: Lonely Mountain Downhill! the game for me in surprise, spending much more time at it than i had thought!
No more heroes 3 and I am having a blast! Who hates it knows nothing about rated 18. Within the blade nice indie to wash it all down(love me some ninja stuffs).
Probably more Halo on the XB1 front, with Infinite launching on December 8th there's only a bit over 3 months before it's a lot harder to find matches in Halo 5 so enjoying it while it lasts.
@Duncanballs if you like zelda/ni no kuni by no means buy it! It's such a nice game. With lot's of details. No voice acting though.
i'm working all weekend, but in the evening, gonna play No More Heroes 3. 60 fps in the combat areas, yes please!
Switch - Picked up FE Three Houses, so gonna dive into that!
PS5 - GTA Online and Borderlands with friends!
PC - Honestly nothing much this weekend, mainly console for me.
Have a good weekend everyone!
Just got my PS5, so it has to be Ratchet and Clank RA and not forgetting my lil Switch, I will have a blast on Monster Hunter Rise Happy gaming everyone!
I've been in a Zelda mood lately. So I'm playing BotW again (as Linkle this time), I'm also playing LttP Redux which makes lots of great improvements to that classic game (not least of which is being able to cycle through items with L and R) as well as adding higher quality music and even an opening and ending animated cutscene. Even Picross Twilight Princess is getting a look in.
@Rpg-lover Thanks. Yes big fan of Zelda and Ni No Kuni. It's more of a not enough time, too much to do situation and not wanting to build a backlog.
Nothing, getting out with my little dogs then heading down the beach where I live in Cornwall. Gaming takes a backseat in this gorgeous weather.
Skyward Sword HD and Avengers are on the menu for me this weekend
Saints Row 2 (XB360)
Animal Crossing (NGC)
@Duncanballs we're all in the same bracket! Real life situations and all, plus not having enough time. My backlog is popping my eyes out while looking at it sometimes, I giveaway some of my games to friends and families.
I can't remember joy. Light in the world. It's all so meaningless.
It's just an existence.

The House in Fata Morgana must end at some point.
Super Metroid on my new Super NT - absolutely delighted with it. Would love to play Psychonauts 2 but will wait until I get a new PC with specs to handle it.
Baldo which finally released for switch yesterday. You guys were remarkably silent on its release
Mostly Shadowverse: Champion's Battle this weekend. I just got B rank and am about to enter the Bronze Cup and mete out some good old-fashioned Saturday anime retribution on the ludicrously villainous Phone Snatcher.
I’ve completed the second Ori game so will make a start on the Doom Eternal DLC. I have both parts.
Hit quite the difficulty spike with the warm climate hospitals in Two Point Hospital. I managed to get 1 star on all of them in the end. Will continue with the big city sites before trying the DLC content.
Finished NEO TWEWY yesterday midnight, so I'm playing more NEO TWEWY till I get all secret endings and 100% in parts that are not too grind heavy. If I somehow manage to finish it during the weekend which I highly doubt I got Shadowverse: Champion's Battle, Ys Origins and Ys IX ready
I started Hades this week, OH MY GOD IT'S SO GOOD
Hopefully Spelunky and Super Robot Wars X, as time permits. My little one’s bday party is today so I’ve got lots of prep to do! 😅
No More Heroeeees!
Still waiting for reviews of Baldo and Tormented Souls, two games that I really want to play (they both look fantastic), but I have to be cautious. I don't want to be dissapointed.
Spelunky 2 & Monster Train: First Class. Having an absolute blast on them both
Beat Neo:TWEWY, so on to the Great Ace Attorney finally!!! I bought those at the same exact time. I want No More Heroes 3, but by the time I’m done with Great Ace Attorney, it’ll be time for Eastward!
I still have a few chapters of Ys IX left, and haven’t started Cross Code at all still. Might even pop in Kingdoms of Amalur to finish the last story quest I had left.
More Persona 5 Strikers for me. I'm sending out the calling card for the 6th jail now, so I know it will be coming to an end soon. I may be able to finish it sometime between this weekend and the next. Still loving it. I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying this one.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Not enjoying this as much as Stick of Truth. Isn't as funny and very fetch questy. Almost like this game is very long DLC. I'm also regularly using Pokemon tv. It is one of the best streaming services I've ever used. I've never had it buffer so far. Pretty amazing when I think of all the disconnections I've had playing Splatoon 2.
Have a good weekend everyone.
back to Monster Hunter Rise to get the Akuma/Amaterasu layerd armor
Been constantly replaying the WarioWare demo over and over again, it's so addicting ! Really can't wait for the full game
And also some Mario Kart 8 DX online as usual
Baldo The Guardian Owls 🙂
No more heroes 3, skyward sword, spelunky 2 and ace attorney on night
@Ewaldus how is it?
Hades and Mario golf
Bravely default 2 and crystalis
Quake and Fortnite since I can't afford NMH3..
I work a lot this weekend so there won't be much time for gaming. When I can it will probably be some short Rise/MHGU sessions. I'm in the middle of the harder difficulty in Marvel UA3 The Black Order so I can keep leveling up my team. I'm dragging my feet on starting the Fantastic 4 DLC so I really need to actually get down to it. I only bought the Expansion Pass for Gambit and Punisher but it was a all or nothing deal. I'm just not a fan of the Fantastic 4
When I close my eyes, I see burned-in images of a park beside a group of houses and beautiful little numbers floating above them. I’m completely hooked on Islanders.
I'm playing the great ace attorney, no more heroes 3, baldo and if I still got a little time I wanna start Off the road unleashed
Bought Broken Age a long time ago and finally got around to playing it, the game definitely has that trademark Double Fine humor and reminds me why I loved Psychonauts so much and why I want to play the sequel, (seriously if no one has played Psychonauts go check it out it is one of my favorite 3D platformers.) It's only on Xbox and Playstation though.
I'm started playing Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late [cl-r]. Completed Arcade Mode as Londrekia, Akatsuki, and Eltnum. Upgraded M to 6th level and Cocoa to 4th level in Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Overdrive. That's all.
finished collecting all the hanging scrolls in Monster Hunter Rise! Next up- crown hunting with my Akuma layered armor
Either/or with Ghost of Tsushima Iki Island and Psychonauts 2. Haven’t booted Psychonauts 2 up yet and haven’t gamed since Monday, so I think it’d be nice to play something. Maybe some Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.
Samurai Warriors 5
Rush Rally Origins
And I’ll start No More Heroes 3 when it arrives- delivery is late for whatever reason.
Speaking of retro collections, I also just got a Q5 IPS modded Neogeo Pocket so I’m excited to revisit some games on the modern screen.
Also, I think it’s really cool that Kate is playing the original Final Fantasy - although the comment “I’ve never played a NES game” makes me feel old, and is generally disconcerting. What a jump after the FF7 remake! It would be cool to see an article about it.
Continuing through NEO: TWEWY and Great Ace Attorney. Having a lot of fun with both!
Always back to Overwatch and looking to pare down my collection, so I'm playing a few older games to see if they still do it for me.
Unless I can find some good Super Mario Maker 2 levels, whose to say what will happen to the game.
@Clyde_Radcliffe.... Just picked up Tony Hawks 1 & 2 for €10. What a steal.
Continuing Psychonauts 2 this weekend.
I'm continuing the campaign of M+R Donkey Kong Adventure and am almost done. I may kick off Liberated and dip back into Boot Hill Heroes. I'll also be getting back into Ring Fit Adventure finally.
Switch: I'm still working on Ys VIII. I'm partway through Chapter 5 and just took a side trip to Bolado Monastery. Now back to the main story! I've also been playing (and enjoying!) the WarioWare: Get It Together! demo. It's more WarioWare action at its core, and the character switching mechanic is growing on me. Not too fond of using 18-Volt, though. I'll be grabbing this, but not at launch. Now, where's my new Wario Land entry?
Wii U: Still haven't dived into Drill Dozer on the VC yet, so hopefully I'll finally sink some time into that this week. Haven't played it before, but I've heard excellent things.
Have a great weekend! Happy gaming!
Won’t get to all of these, but this is my active playlist.
Switch: Mario + Rabbids, Tardy, Yoku’s Island Express.
3DS: Mario Golf: World Tour (want to beat it before digging into Switch installment in this glorious franchise).
Wii: Epic Mickey, Metroid, Homestar Ruiner.
XBox 360: Hexic HD (shockingly addictive), NiGHTS into dreams…, Jet Set Radio (lives up to the hype).
GameCube: The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure (better than the reviews suggest — just don’t think of it as a “real” Zelda, and it is fun in its own respect).
N64: Kobe Bryant Courtside, Glover.
Phone: Dr. Mario World (really pissed about the impending permanent takedown).
A mix of games: Axiom Verge, Let's Go Pikachu, Super Mario 64, Floor Kids, Burnout Paradise, Horizon Chase Turbo. A light weekend before I return to the completion of the meaty Octopath Traveler.
Banjo-Kazooie, Super Metroid and New super Mario Bros u deluxe.
Have a great weekend folks!
Nice weekend of weather here…perhaps the last of summer?? I’m gonna play with my smoker and smoke some pulled pork!
Gaming wise…gonna return to my life as an assassin in NMH3! Will try and wrap up Metro 2033 as well, really enjoyed my play through so far. Such an atmosphere. I’ve also been getting back in with Hollow Knight, still have to try out the free MH Rise updates, I stopped that game cold turkey…no real reason why. Such a great title.
Other than that I’ll continue to attempt to tackle the damn backlog and will patiently be waiting for Metroid Dread. That new trailer officially sold me! Wish you all a fun and happy weekend!
Last week I started NEO: The World Ends With You and I'm currently on the final day of week 3 which I'm assuming is close to the end of the game. I've gotta say I REALLY enjoy this game. It's been a long time since I was this hooked on a game before. At the end of week 1 when "Neku" comes in the save the day I was SO hyped to see him return. However I had a feeling that it wasn't actually Neku because I was like "wasn't his hair orange?" But, I just assumed he changed his hair color or something. When it was revealed in week 2 that "Neku" was actually my man BEAT I freaking exploded 😂😂😂. I considered that "Neku" was Rindos friend swallow along with a few other guesses but I NEVER considered beat. God I haven't had this much fun guessing, making theories and being blown away since Xenoblade 1! (Also the optimism that beat has throughout the game and his misinterpretation of many things makes him my favorite character lol.) This moment made me incredibly happy that I chose to play the original game before playing the sequel.
I've also gotta say Motoi really fooled me with his nice guy act. I didn't even have any suspicions about him and I really thought he was genuinely helping us. Given the situation he was in, I did kind of understand his way of thinking but man, I felt bad for rindo.
There's so many more things that I want to talk about but I'll just sum it up and say this just might edge out Monster Hunter Stories 2 as my favorite game released this year! Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go finish up week 3!
Little time to play here recently. I'm still playing Skyward Sword
Going to go through DOOM Eternal The Ancient Gods Part Two, it was a suprise to know that I bought it the same time I bought Part One. So far, it's been great! Also, I'll keep on playing Quake. it's id Software Hell Fun for me this weekend.!
Hopefully I can do some Rayman 3 PS2. I hope I will. I'm not saying I will and now I think I probably won't but yeah. I guess I didn't get to do it.
I will be trying to complete all star levels of every Pokemon in New Pokemon Snap as well as play more Risk of Rain 2. I had my first solo win a few days back and I am still stoked about that. I have also put 110 hours in New Pokemon Snap so far, and still have a good amount of requests/new pokemon to complete. It will be a good long while before my girlfriend and I complete the game fully. Happy gaming everyone!
Continuing Undermine and Badland which are both very addictive in short bursts. I'm also considering going back to Origami King
I bought orbibot on sale because I loved Glyph so much I just wanted to be a ball again. Sadly, orbibot isn't a great game, although slightly fun to cheese by doing huge YOLO jumps over the puzzles.
I also bought florence on sale recently which I plan to play through.
Working this weekend:(
Might play some Quake in the evening.
@Dpishere When are you planning on playing Psychonauts 2? It has been playing quite a few good reviews so far and seems to be a worthy sequel.
@Dpullam Just depends on when I am in the mood to play my PlayStation, could be awhile with everything coming out this year but I do really want to play it.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider! Never knew that it was such an awesome game.
Wii gaming. Ps4 controller broke and I want some time away from switch so playing some of the greats again. No More Heroes 1 and two Sonic games, plus Wii Virtual Console downloads.
No More Heroes III. Love it so far.
@BananaMetallurgica
Only an hour in but I like what I’ve done so far.
Can’t say too much of it yet. Only thing I dislike is that you’re instant Game Over when you fall from a certain height. Which happens a lot to me. You’ll restart at the same room but still. Immediate game over is a little harsh.
Graphics and music are great!
Hollow Knight, Monster Hunter Rise, Skyward Sword, and Great Ace Attorney.
HK started to get really good for me after learning how to use some abilities effectively in combat. MHR always fun to do hunts and collect more armor pieces. Also finishing up on event quests and acquiring special layered armors. SS I believe I’m at the second flame dungeon. Puzzles are fantastic. GAA is just lovely and a chill story based game. The puzzles are fun to figure out and the characters and the story is what I like most about it.
May also try to get some Shin Megami Tensei 3 time in here.
@Ewaldus ok thanks. i'm waiting for some reviews
Angry Birds Star Wars (Windows Phone) - Finally made it to the end!
Equalicious (Windows Phone) - Haven't played all week, so need to get back into it.
Bug Village (Windows Phone) - I think I'm done with this, nothing left to do really.
I'm almost halfway through my marathon of N64 Zelda titles on 3ds (most beautiful, artistic, inspiring games on the system in my opinion). Also, linked to this debating doing a Majora's Mask 3 heart run, but the side quests are what make that experience so don't know if it's worth it. Or I could try an 100% the ocarina of time 3d file I have where I'm missing like 3 heart pieces, but it will be a mission working out which ones I'm missing? May as well start by getting the ice arrows .
Also, can I write some Nintendo related articles for you guys?
Here's an article I wrote:
https://gameluster.com/retro-review-resident-evil-4-a-horror-classic-revisited/
Still replaying through Pokemon Platinum. Leveling up my Pokemon for the elite four now.
I think most my attention will be on Skyward Sword HD which i got a few days ago. The original was my first Zelda game and I'm 7 hours in and i think its great remaster. SS was already a beautiful game the remaster makes it look even better. Bringing back memories when i first played it. Probably my favourite Zelda game.
I started Ori and the Will of the Wisps recently after finishing Wind Waker HD. I think I should be able to fit it in before Metroid Dread comes out.
Really enjoying Will of the Wisps so far. Some of the things they’ve added from the first game around combat and boss battles reminds me some of Hollow Knight. I also thought I read it was more linear than the first game, but to me (at least from what I remember of the first game) the second game seems less linear.
Finishing up side quests before I take down Demise in Skyward Sword
Need to finish Blaster Master Zero 3.
Picking up Mario Golf this afternoon too.
This weekend is consisting of The Great Ace Attorney on Switch as well as continuing Death’s Door which released very recently and is similar to Hades!
Also, a new game called Lamentum finally dropped yesterday. If you can imagine a pixel-art version of Resident Evil that includes limited ammo and saves, lots of really unique puzzles, and exploring a huge creepy mansion in the 1800s, it’s extremely good!
Happy gaming, everyone
👊Finishing off 'Sengoku 3'.
I finally beat Axiom Verge about a week ago and then today I finished Axiom Verge 2. So now I'm trying to figure out what to so with my life now.
@Dpishere Nice. I kinda hopes it comes to Nintendo Switch but I doubt it ever does. Would be nice to continue that story!
Skyward Sword and DK: Tropical Freeze
Dark Souls 3, and continuing to re-watch Trigun.
LOVE AND PEACE NINJA APPROVED
Streets of Rage 4, Mario Golf Super Rush and maybe Animal Crossing.
Just finished Immortals Fenyx Rising and started Saints Row IV, checking in with the Animal Crossing island (just a lil, needs new content), gotta do a bit of Ring Fit Adventure to offset all this couch time, and absolutely hooked on Snow Runner atm.
I'm playing for time.
MHRise and Fury Unleased
Finishing up Skyward Sword HD, then it's back to Metroid timeline binge. Currently on Metroid Prime 2.
Has anyone mentioned yet how gorram annoying it is to beat Paeter's high score of 43 bamboo cuts with a pro controller or in handheld mode? I feel like every time I want to just slash back and forth, I just end up spin-attacking. Finally beat it today (got to 52 cuts), but it took over 500 Rupees of tries and this was my 6th round of attempting (this time with the Master Sword).
I think the one issue I have with the classic controls set up of SSHD is how spin attacks and ending blows are performed. I think it's just too finnicky to input Street Fighter-level of directionals to get this right when it really matters (like the bamboo game or when the game surprises you with an enemy you can ending blow). Otherwise, I'd say this is my favourite Zelda control scheme EVER.
“Damon, I love you. In 20 years I will return.”
With my huge backlog I'm stuck right now with Blasphemous and DKC tropical freeze, also I started playing Shantae on Vita and I'm having lots of fun with it, can't believe I miss it for this long
@Matty2310 Welcome to the Nintendo Switch club!
I'm always playing Rocket League. But now I'm mostly playing it on PS5. I'm impatiently waiting for 120fps to be enabled for it. And 120fps is what I'm focusing on now. I'm busy trying out all the 120fps games I can on my new PS5. It's such an awesome frame rate allowing very nice clarity in motion. Fortnite, Borderlands 3, Tony Hawk 1 & 2, and Destiny 2 all look perfect at 120fps on my older 144hz monitor (just 1080p). I'm excited to play WRC 9, Dirt 5, Devil May Cry 5, Doom Eternal, and the new F1 game at 120 soon. I'm enjoying Quake on my Switch, but will probably double dip on PS5 once the 120fps update drops. I'm also enjoying No More Heroes 3, if found, Game Paradise (got my freaking download code from the glorious Dispatch Games!), and Riders Republic (enjoying the beta).
Have a good weekend everyone!
I'm juggling 3 games which is something I never do, lol. Quake, Wolfenstein II and Nekopara: Volume 4.
@120frames-please I've had Doom Eternal since launch for PS4 and it's amazing but I had just finished it for Switch a few days ago. Those people at Panic Button are wizards at porting! I was amazed at the high quality. I just have the Lite so it was purely handheld mode and it holds up very well.
After 37 attempts to escape Hades (and failing miserably) i decided to give it a break. Its the only thing ive really been playing over the last couple of weeks but i started Tokyo mirage FE yesterday. Love the combat style.
I'm gonna try to make some major progress in Monster Hunter Stories 2 this weekend. I already finished the second village and did a lot of the third village today. Besides that, I wanna try to play some Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, because I haven't played it a ton since I got it.
Psychonauts 2 on Xbox, Luigi’s Mansion on GameCube.
Haydee II on PC, No More Heroes III on Switch.
I’ve been playing Bloodstained on holiday. 30 hours in and nearing the end now.
Not the best port but it’s a fantastic game.
Finally finished Skyward Sword HD on Friday (70 hours, which I read is more than twice the average, so I guess I suck). I absolutely loved it though. Started Ori and the Will of the Wisps last night, I loved Blind Forest and so far this is shaping up to be great too
@JustMonika Nice, I haven't even tried it yet. It's coming in the mail. Pretty excited to see it at 120fps. And yes, Panic Button are incredible developers/programmers.
Golf Story, I have a huge backlog on my switch. Need to start somewhere loving the game, so far.
