Following on from the delay of the Life Is Strange Remastered Collection, it's now been revealed September 10 release date for the Switch version of Life Is Strange: True Colors has been pushed back.
Here's the full message provided over on social media, which confirms the game will still arrive this year:
"Life is Strange: True Colors for Nintendo Switch is running a little late. We won’t be quite ready to release on September 10 – but we still plan to release this year. Please watch our channels for a confirmed date over the coming weeks!"
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a bit longer for Life Is Strange Remastered Collection - with the package due to arrive at some point early on in 2022. You can learn more about this in our previous post.
Will you be trying out any of these games when they arrive on the Switch? Tell us below.

And people think 2022 will not have delays this whole virus thing has shook the world not just in gaming but everything it's gonna take years to get back to normal. Which I'm OK with delays one people safety but two also to work on my backlog
I don’t get why they don’t give priority to the switch version in this case. The switch is where most of the audience is at for this game. The Animal Crossing audience…
@Friendly I mean, it’s not even the same kinda game as animal crossing. These titles did really well on the PS3 (where I played them) and I don’t recall playing any kinda animal crossing game there. These are closer to TaleTale games.
@tonyp1987 However I don't think it's fair to blame everything on the pandemic. Delays were a thing long before 2020. And a delay less than a month before release? That is just a delay to get Switch players to buy them first on a different platform.
@faint Yes, you're right. Though I think it would fare pretty good with the Animal Crossing audience.
Will it still be 10€ more than the other version when it release ? and it's always the switch version that gets delayed. I played life is strange 1 on ps3, was hoping for life is strange 2 on switch but they never release it, I'll wait for true colors but it shows that square enix don't understand that there is an audience for this type of games on switch.
I've been waiting for 5 years to play Life is Strange because it doesn't run on my laptop... so I can wait a little longer. I also ended up buying the first game on my brother's PS3 (!) earlier this year so I could finally play it.
The Switch version isn't even getting a physical release (that I know of). I'll just buy a copy for PS5 when it goes on sale. Hopefully Life is Strange Remastered has a physical release for Switch.
@DTfeartheBEARD
When I was on Amazon earlier I was suggested to the physical actually. It’s page links with the physicals for the other systems too.
@Desa Oh thanks. I looked it up and I do see a physical version for Switch. I guess I'll get that when it releases. I didn't see a physical for Switch on Best Buy so I assumed it was digital only.
@ShadowofTwilight22 Let's call it potential and probably interested audience
It's not as if one would buy a PS4 / PS5 solely for the opportunity to play life is strange, i'd say.
As much as I love Life Is Strange, I can admit they're not exactly the most graphically or mechanically intense games. So what gives? This delay seems unnecessary.
Red flag! Best to wait for reviews of the Switch version now before purchasing at launch
Was thinking of getting this on Switch but will just get it on Xbox now instead of waiting.
Maybe they'll release it in November during the Xmas rush, sell hardly any copies and put it on sale a month later, then complain that not enough people bought it.
You know like so many other publishers who don't learn their lesson.
@DTfeartheBEARD It is according to retailers, but "requires a download" ugh...
I will wait for reviews and as there are many other games I want, I will wait for this
I hate when this happens now its do I wait or go other console. Whereas my 1st preference is switch the delay is a big factor.
Often means by the time it releases other consoles have it on sale or cheaper and better looking.
Not portable of course but that might not matter on a game by game basis for me
@Friendly Couldn't be farther from the truth considering Life is Strange had essentially no association with Nintendo before this game. The demographic for this game is the same demographic for the people who played the other Life is Strange games (i.e. PlayStation, Xbox and PC users)
@TheFrenchiestFry I've commented on somebody else who said the same as you did.

@Reprise Yes unfortunately it does say download required 😒.
A lot of Y’all are acting entitled in the replies. The developers don’t owe you anything.
@Whatever122 it's called having expectations about the products you spend money on
I hope that means they will care about the Switch version to look the best it can. It's a beautiful-looking game.
So glad I came across this article. I was baffled why the BestBuy site displayed "pre-order" for the Switch version.
Guess I'll go through my back-log of games right now.
