Indeed and let's be honest the Japanese market is huge. Or else microsoft would not have tried so hard to get in.

On the other hand sony has bin targeting teen and adult market the most these last few years.

Most of my favourites weren't on the list as I personally hope for third party characters who aren't from capcom or konami since they already got three.

Yes it is pretty impressive, but let's be honest was their any real competition in 2019 in that regard. No big first party sony games made 2019 rather easy for Nintendo to win in Japan

I would rather see third party characters from companies without an rep. Koei en ubisoft would be good ones.

Still an better mix of first and third party would be sweet. However I also had expected more echo characters as he made an huge deal about them before the game was released.

Think it has to do with the fact that games that release in december of the current year can't be nominated for that year. Same with any games that were released this december as none of them are nominated for the 2019 awards
