Re: Feature: Nintendo Franchises We Want to See at E3 - Pokémon

Araquanid

@AyeHaley

Actually, masuda said:

"For example, if after Black and White we came out with a grey, people would have been expecting that," he said. "Same thing with X/Y and having a Z straight afterwards. So we're always just trying to surprise people. There will not be a Pokemon Z"

That in addition to the two hidden moves X/Y had (thousand arrows and thousand waves) implies that zygarde will have two forms, and the two placeholders in the pokebank pentagon files indicate two new games.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Franchises We Want to See at E3 - Pokémon

Araquanid

@hoshifox It would be a terrible move.

Pokemon being limited to the wii u? I guess local trading and battling is nonexistant now... the very things that traditionally keep the games on the handheld. You would no longer be able to use pokebank to transfer from your other games.

I wouldn't mind a wii u game like battle revolution or colosseum sequel, but please no core series games on the wii u.. it's just a massive hinderence that ruins the experience being stuck on that system which can't go anywhere.

Re: Reggie Has Been Pushing For Binding Of Isaac To Come To Nintendo Consoles Since 2012

Araquanid

@Quorthon I'm not really offended by the game personally. I just simply won't play it, and that is all. However being "one of those stereotypes" I see how it can be offensive and controversal to a large group of players and I speak for them rather than myself.

Also I don't know what your point is about that game... but for one: it's not on nintendo, a company who aims at a less mature audience, and for two: It was actually taken down from steam. Yes, it's kinda the same case with insulting a group of stereotypes, but why did that get removed, yet this game didn't for insulting Stereotypical groups?

But anyway, I think I said what I had to say. We should move on from the current discussion.

Re: Reggie Has Been Pushing For Binding Of Isaac To Come To Nintendo Consoles Since 2012

Araquanid

@BinaryFragger

It's a little bit of a different scenario.

It's perfectly fine that people have their own beliefs, and yes, if you're offended by it, simply don't buy it. However when comparing it to other installments that use controversal topics in it, there isn't any quite like Binding of Isaac... sure, you make have a game that jokes a little about religion (Like AVGN's representation of Jesus, may be offensive, but it's harmless.. won't bother people too much, he's not trying to make people against or for christianity with it.) however it's not necessarly something you could call, harmful in any way. The difference here, is Binding of Isaac is trying to make you believe that religion is a terrible thing and harmful.. which some may agree, but it's highly offensive towards those who don't, as a direct insult rather than a passive harmless joke or one liner. There hasn't really been a game solely on the basis of anti-religion, atleast that I know of published by nintendo.

Didn't know Isaac had a rating tbh, I always seen it as some unrated indie game. (Already you can tell my lack of interest in it by the lack of knowledge about it) M rating is well deserved for the gorey aspects of it.

Re: Reggie Has Been Pushing For Binding Of Isaac To Come To Nintendo Consoles Since 2012

Araquanid

@Retro_on_theGo Controversy.

IIRC, the binding of isaac's main plot.. is about a boy with an extremist christian mother that religiously tortures him in his own mind. The game looks like it's for kids, but may quickly upset and utterly disturb them upon playing the first few minutes. Certain parents would be highly against the game, and it would cause so much controversy for nintendo considering their main audience is children.

Almost like a conker's bad fur day scenario, box art looks kid friend, then it's full of several controversal themes and you don't find out until spoiling it researching or playing yourself.. except binding of isaac is ALOT worse.

But anyway, My thoughts on the actual game itself... where's the quote button so I can repeat exactly what @JaxonH and @KodyDawg said? I really don't feel comfortable about playing this game.. it's just not for me as a Christian. I don't mind religious iffy games, but this game litteraly is trying to convert you away from a religion.. which isn't a good thing at all for those who have their own beliefs. It's just heavily revolved around "Christians being bad" which, as a Christian, is pretty controversal and offensive.

Re: Poll: We Need to Talk About amiibo - Where Do You Stand?

Araquanid

I'm not too interested in amiibos personally. For collectables, they're alright, but as methods of adding content to the game, IF they have a game to add content to and not just smash bros, I would rather just go on eshop and download whatever DLC the amiibo provides then go on a wild ebay bidding frenzy just to get ahold of one. It's just too much trouble to go through just to get a small buff in smash bros or something.. anything else they provide like unlocking characters or costumes in games, can be done with unlimited eshop DLC.

Re: Minecraft Rival LEGO Worlds Released As Early-Access Download on Steam

Araquanid

This looks spectacular!

Definitely looks much more promising than minecraft! I've played minecraft a lot before, and this completely swept my interest off of it rather fast!

The ONLY thing that kinda makes it inferior to minecraft, is the lack of being able to mod the game. Minecraft gives players the freedom to pretty much do whatever they want assuming they know how to mod..

but IMO that's not how a game should be played, a game shouldn't be good "just because you can modify the natural gameplay.." anyway.

I really hope this makes for a console release (if it can fit on a console, looks pretty huge).

Re: Talking Point: The Fragility of Buying Download Games

Araquanid

I prefer purchasing a physical copy.

I like having the ability to move my cartirage/disc between multiple consoles or bring over to a friend/relatives house without having to lug my entire console around. Not to mention, I'd rather lose one game.. than an SD card full of games should it be stolen or taken out for whatever reason.

However what really caught my eyes in this article, is the idea that anything I purchase or download, can be completely removed from my system at the push of a button without any notice.. something that cannot happen to physical software. It was never something I really took into consideration, but it is certainly food for thought.

I guess the only real benefit of going digitual, is the proof of purchase.. if somebody goes and deletes everything you have, you can redownload it no cost.. whereas you're having to buy the game itself again if it's physical.

Re: Video: Gengar Confirmed as a Fighter in Pokkén Tournament

Araquanid

Tbh, I cannot say I'm excited or anything considering this isn't available to us or is known to be available in the near future. Gengar is an interesting choice for a originally to be suspected physical fighting game, but the mentality on my end is, ok so what we don't have the game. If it gets backwards compatibility for the wii u then this would be a different story, but seems unlikely when they could've just made it for the wii u to begin with..arcades aren't exactly the most popular type of gaming.

Re: Hacked Passcodes Leaked For 3DS eShop Microtransaction-Based Title, Pokémon Rumble World

Araquanid

@MasterGraveheart Well technically, even though they're part of the game, they're still not necessarily considered not being an exploit.

Take X/Y for example. Hoopa, volcanion, mega eons, shiny locked pokemon, and diancie were all part of the game.. however those were not necessarily legal to use as they were never offically announced by anyone, and they have been locked from usage in online play until they were released (diancie and mega eons were the only ones released)

But I don't believe any action would arrise from this anyway.. it would've been possible to get these codes through hours of guessing. They have no influence on online gameplay or the like other than being next to your character, in which case there is 0 indication that it is the event pokemon instead of a regular one caught.

Re: Reminder: Xenoblade Chronicles 3D Out Now for the New Nintendo 3DS XL in North America

Araquanid

When I get a new 3ds (with a capture card installed) this is going to be the first thing I pick up. Mostly because I haven't played xenoblade yet, and from what I saw it seems pretty decent.. although I don't know if I'll get bored of it quickly, the combat seems pretty slow pace and turn based.. for what should be something with more free combat. Plus I don't like large landscapes.. I hated elder scrolls as all I did was walk on mountains and spend an hour to reach this or that location. It's hard to tell if xenoblade is like that.

As far as enhancements from the original, like others pointed out the graphics isn't improved in the slightest.. the resolution looks better because it's 3d and on a small screen where our eyes aren't as focused, but it's certainly a joke of a graphical remake in comparison to majora's mask.

Re: Copyright Owner of 'Trollface' Image Explains Role in Getting Meme Run Taken Down

Araquanid

Meme Run just got trolled!!! OOOOOH!

but anyway, hopefully the game doesn't come back. I can't even find myself downloading the flash version of that thing for free rather than spend money on it for the wii u. None of the memes are even any good.. like seriously, they're so old and worn out.. nobody uses any of the ones seen in this, they got stale. If meme runs purpose was to revive them, they did a terrible job at it.

Re: Feature: The Heartwarming Tale of a Missing 3DS and a Stranger's Kindness

Araquanid

Really touching story, I mean, it's not necessarily a shocker consituring if I seen a nintendo 3DS I'd just do the same and I know a lot of people would, but I'm glad it was founded by the right hands and Joey was in the right place, with us to retrieve it back.

Let this be a lesson to all of us to be more careful with our things, sometime's it's better leaving stuff behind where it's safer..I accidentally forgot my 3DS at an olive garden one time but thankfully the manager got a hold of it first and held onto it until I called and picked it up.

@AshFoxX Words cannot describe how priceless that was.

Re: Video: You NEED To Play Metroid Prime Trilogy

Araquanid

I spent 80 dollars for my steelbox Metroid Prime Trilogy.. AH WELL still worth it

Metroid prime is byfar one of the best and more underappreciated nintendo games ever made. The music is perfection, the gameplay is perfection, like the video said.. it's not really a first person shooter like CoD or halo.. instead it's an adventure, puzzle type game like zelda with tons of variety in atmospheres, story, and enemies with first person gameplay. Adding even more exploration in the scanning feature not present in other metroid titles (such as shame.. that was like the greatest thing ever) letting you scan certain parts of the terrian and learn your enemy's patterns/weaknesses. These games are just filled with so much content it's mind blowing... and there's three of them!

One thing I will point out is.. play corruption (MP3) last. Reason is not because of storyline purposes.. but metroid prime corruption can get really repetive and star warzy early on which can be a turn off.. the game starts off pretty boring and there are a lot of points in the game you just want to get over with rather than actually explore like the others. Skytown was really cool though.. but it gets annoying after backtracking the rails so many times.

Metroid prime 2 Echoes was insane! That game was perfected! Although I wouldn't recommend playing it first because the title is actually the hardest in the entire metroid franchise.. two bosses that are labeled as the hardest bosses ever (Boost ball and spider guardians) both live in these games. Not the mention the dark aether atmosphere may seem a little overwhelming and pressuring to new players... where players who play the first game first would just see it as a bonus challenge. Thankfully those bosses are somewhat nerfed slightly in this game, not sure how but people seem to have a much less harder time dealing in the remakes and I can agree with that.

Ain't like the boss fights are simple dodge and shoot either like the parasite queen in the video.. A lot of them have special tatics to counter throughout battle.

Re: YouTube Stars Aren't Happy With Nintendo's Revenue-Sharing 'Creators Program'

Araquanid

Way I see it, if you play somebody else's game and get money off of it then something needs done.

That's like me buying a movie.. playing it, and then charging admission at my front door to come and see it. Eventually it would get acted on.

I've watched youtubers play a lot of games, and never bothered to buy them myself. I like the games a lot.. but I just watch them to see what they contain. For example, I love the FNAF series.. but I never bothered to play it only read about it and watch others on youtube play and react instead. Conker's bad fur day is another one.. I'd never bother to buy the game myself but I love watching others play it.

This can be somewhat helpful advertising games to influence people to buy them for companies.. but harmful at the same time if people prefer to just see what's in the game rather than try it out themselves.

Plus I'm getting kind of tired of pewd's popularity.. he was sorta funny back then on certain play throughs but now he's being more arrogant and overconfident, "Anything I say or do doesn't matter my fan base will approve reguardless." About time to see something done to him.. and of course he'll complain and his huge fanbase will agree (big surprise).

Re: Code To Unlock Contrary Serperior In Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Is Revealed

Araquanid

@BulbasaurusRex The same can be said about anything. You have no idea how rare HA tentacools even are on the gts. HA snivies are going to explode all over the place when it gets released, everybody will be wanting to run one and breed for it. Heck, hackers may use their hacked HA snivies for breeders on the release date. (contrary would then be offically released, so if bred in or/as/x/y it would be consitured legit since parental information isn't stored anywhere)

Re: Code To Unlock Contrary Serperior In Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Is Revealed

Araquanid

@Porky No they wouldn't be consitured legit. The ability was never offically released and so if bred with a hacked HA snivy the offspring would still be consitured hacked.

As of right now the same applies for x/y/or/as. Jan 9th any kalos/hoenn born snivies with HA will be legit if they have the proper date on them. (Although I suspose having the wrong date set on your 3ds could be an excuse for legitimacy checkers)

Re: Code To Unlock Contrary Serperior In Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Is Revealed

Araquanid

@Damo Do we even know if it's not region locked yet? As far as I'm concerned no one said the code can be used outside Japan. You also forgot to point out this serperior's moveset, it gets hold back which is an event exclusive move now for it. You need to include some more details and offically confirm it's distribution location.

@Pikmiin99 No it was just flat out never released period. This is pretty big because contrary is such a huge upgrade for serperior's viability in competitve. Everytime you use leaf storm, instead of being -2 SpA you get +2 SpA.. even sticky web will instead increase your speed instead of dropping. Getting haxed by shadow ball and other stat dropping moves will only punish the opponent when you get a stat increase instead. Even defog will give you +2 evasion. It's pretty OP.. thankfully grass is just a general bad typing so it's not broken with beedrill and such keeping it in check. Another thing is leaf storm only has 5 PP (8 if PP maxed) so it's not the most spammable move in the world and that's exactly how it is going to be used.

It doesn't learn dragon dance but it does learn calm mind which unforunantly it cannot appropriately use.. but that doesn't matter when you get double the boost from just attacking anyway.

Re: Weirdness: The Pokémon Timeline Seems as Crazy as The Legend of Zelda's Equivalent

Araquanid

@Zombie_Barioth That is not a timeline if only two or 4 games in the main series are sequels (1 not counting versions). Every game has to be linked somehow or another, and that is not the case. Heck, the idea of certain legendaries being recaught justifies a nonexsistant timeline on it's own. Again, each region pretty much does it's own, noncanon thing. ORAS especially since we know for a fact in GBA primals and megas were nonexsistant to the player, the aqua/magma leaders, everyone.. while you can bring up "Oh, they just didn't make them yet" the point still remains that if ORAS is appost to be real deal in a timeline then mega evolution was a thing far before DPP, which it definitly was not. Johto is in a similar boat, we know for a fact the legendaries found there are not really johto.. what are the odds that kyogre is asleep in hoenn and is awake in johto? Slim to none at all.. just thrown in there for the game ignoring it's true origin.

Now everybody needs to stop saying there is an offical timeline and realize that each new installment is as uncanon to one another as pokepark. Unless somebody links something that an offical website says then they need to stop believing what they read.

Re: Weirdness: The Pokémon Timeline Seems as Crazy as The Legend of Zelda's Equivalent

Araquanid

There is no timeline for pokemon. Each RPG is a story about a different player in a different region, with different adventures, and different.. everything. While the legend of zelda DOES have a timeline, which is primarly based on "If this happened, then these games occur", pokemon does not have anything like that as there are no prequels, sequals, or heck parral universes intended.

It's pretty much just new fresh installments each time, it's for the sake of entertainment and just that. They do throw in some canon connections, I believe BW2 takes place a few years after BW or something like that but it's minor at best.

Re: Pokémon's Other Hidden Legendary Monster's Details Come to Light

Araquanid

@DanteSolablood How would it infect your game? I don't understand the logic in that.

But yeah ever since the most recent update in pokemon x/y you cannot use any hackmons or unreleased pokemon online in trades or battles. Before you could use them against passerbys and friends atleast, and I can say during the time I had volcanion and hoopa in battle, they're not that good at all.. pretty lackluster as a matter of fact.

It appears this update carried over to oras as well.

Re: Pokémon's Other Hidden Legendary Monster's Details Come to Light

Araquanid

I have volcanion

You can get him via powersaves on x/y and just bank him over the ORAS. I don't see anything particularly new eventwise with him besides the forementioned.

@ZenTurtle Prison bottle is so far the only hacked key item known. It is used to change hoopa's forme. In X/Y we had all the unreleased items that aren't normally available due to no item bank.. (cusap berry for example) and we had access to latiosite and latiasite which were entirely new items never released until oras.

And no volcanion and hoopa cannot be used over wifi so do not ask.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Offers the Best of Both Worlds with Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

Araquanid

Our research in each part of the world commonly indicates that consumers between the age of 18 and 25 represent a large percentage of those who purchased “Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS” in the release period. It is approximately 30 percent in Japan, which is twice the overall average of Nintendo 3DS software, and has even reached 50 percent in the U.S. and Europe.

Or maybe parents buying them for their children?

Re: Gallery: Gorge Yourself on These Assets For The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D

Araquanid

@Azooooz It's more of a psychological game.. You're rushing the whole time you do it. For example you gotta beat this or that temple withen the (in-game) 3 days if you want to progress. Afterward you play the song of time and it resets everything back to dawn of the first day, (including all the depressing tragedies you fixed..) while keeping the items you need to progress to the next area.

So for example.. you save that monkey's life in the first three days, get to move on, but then you have to go back in time to move to the next area.. this time the monkey has no one to save him as you're saving somebody else..

Very depressing and dark.

Re: Talking Point: The Majora's Mask 3D Reveal Showed Nintendo Can Still Surprise and Delight

Araquanid

I'm not really the type to get excited for new games I never tried yet (S.T.E.A.M., Splatoon) and MM was more or less just a "That was a good move" sorta thing rather than a hype inducing thing for me. (Especially since I already played it)

To say the least there was nothing that made me go crazy like a new metroid reveal or something would've.

TL;DR Nothing surprised me 4/10 just for majora's mask.
