While the main-series Pokémon games are easily the biggest draw of the IP, the anime and movies have plenty of loyal fans. Localisation enthusiasts should be pleased, then, to hear that this year's major movie release (due this Summer in Japan) will be arriving on Cartoon Network later in 2015. No region is specified, though we're hopeful that multiple countries in Europe and North America will benefit from the deal.
Called Pokémon the Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages, this one should be particularly interesting to fans of lore, with Hoopa being found hidden in the current games and prompting plenty of intriguing theories. The description for the movie is as follows:
Get ready for a new, animated Pokémon adventure! Pokémon the Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages takes Ash and his friends to a desert city by the sea. Here they meet the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa, who has the ability to summon things—including people and Pokémon—through its magic ring.
After a scary incident, they learn a story about a brave hero who stopped the rampage of a terrifying Pokémon long ago. Now, the threat that has been bottled up for years is in danger of breaking loose again! Can Ash help his new friend overcome the darkness within…or will a dangerous secret erupt into a clash of legends?
You can see a localised trailer below - are you looking forward to seeing this?

"Pecan."
Don't play the games and the tv show hasn't been to my liking since Brock left, bu the movies are usually good, and this looks like 1 of the better ones.
Sounds like a lot of HOOPA!
OMG ARCEUS,YESS YES YESSS!! HES SO AWSOME. lol im wayy to excited xD I hope arceus is gonna reck some legendary butt :3
This movie seems so awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing how Mega Rayquaza handles Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon!
Far out, Hoopa's voice is awful.
"...they learn a story about a brave hero who stopped the rampage of a terrifying Pokémon long ago."
Ash goes back in time and self-fulfills his own prophecy. yawn.
The Japanese voice for Hoopa is much better though. this one sounds sort of wierd and stiffully. Not to mention it cuts in with the sudio in a weird way. I prefer his cute little demon Japanese voice.
Also, has anyone else noticed that the boy in the begining who is unleashing that "terrifying anicent power" is wearing a necklace that looks like the golden ring around Arceus' body?
I really want to see this just for the huge battle between the legendaries. I haven't watched a Pokémon movie since the Arceus one, but they are usually pretty decent, or at least better than the normal anime anyway. Thanks to Hoopa's terrible voice, and just the terrible English voice acting in general, I'll be watching the English subbed version.
I still have to watch the Diance one that popped up on netflix.
I'm kinda sceptical to this movie.
First we have a Lugia, its probaly another one, making it four Lugia's in total so far in the anime. (Secon movie, the mother and her child from season 5)
Dialga meeting Palkia should cause problems, they are not supposed to meet each other. (10th movie and season 12)
I'm not gonna judge the movie begore I see it myself, tough this looks like it might be problematic like the Mewtwo in the genesect movie.
The voice acting for this movie is............
Incredibly awful in a horrible, terrible, and in an unsatisfying way.
Not to mention the image of hoopa-unbound is byfar the most controversal thing pokemon ever designed.. seriously look at it:
Just another complaint from the parental side who find this thing too terrifying for children.
So Hoopa Pokemon event confirmed then?
Slight spoiler for those who only follow the dub and have not seen Serena's hair cut and redesign don't you think?
Also I don't think the voice acting sounds as bad as people claim it to be. Probably because I'm not too fussy, but if you want a more high quality voice cast, go watch an anime who's target audience is NOT kids. I dunno, Attack on Titan or something?
What is THAT THING supposed to be????
Yokai Watch can take over - Pokemon has clearly run its course.
They revealed Serena's new design English dubbed before Episode 60's English dub.
@OmegaPowerDX But like all the other films, they are consider copyright infringment and will be taken down momentarly.
I miss the times when Pokemon movies were in the cinema and you got a trading card when you went to see it what do we get now? A straight to TV version which everyone will probably miss
@MegaBeedrill Well, look at it like this, Hoopa Unbound might scare your children, but at least it won't kidnap them like Drifloon or Hypno. You have to learn how to look at the positive side of things.
