Re: Game Freak Isn't Reusing 3DS Models In Pokémon Sword and Shield

Araquanid

Yea no, this is cover-up shilling for gamefreak, the rigs are identical to sun/moons and let's go, even so much as the whiskers on gyarados are STILL bugged at the bend joint. That's just flat out a copy - > paste because there's no way a trained animator or modeler could mess that up twice while having a visually exact model and exact animation sequence frame by frame.

The only thing changed are slight texture tweaks and some animation/posture changes, but those are for a couple pokemon, majority of the rest are as copy and pasted as they could've copy and pasted the culled ones into the next game. The simple fact of this is they're being lazy and they're going to use the remaining pokemon as a selling point for the sequel titles. 'CATCH EM ALL IN ULTRA SWSH!'

Literally cant wait for them to release the rest in 2 years and say 'oh suddenly we have the file space'

Re: Pokémon Sales Slump To All-Time Low In Japan, Despite Strong Worldwide Performance Of Let's Go

Araquanid

Something worth mention is a lot of people bought multiple copies of the other handheld games too.

With let's go, there's hardly any reason at all to have more then one as there's little to actually do other then the solo experience, and the version exclusives iirc just boil down to the starters and a few pokemon rather then story elements (don't quote me on that, never was interested to actually play and find out myself).

With the handhelds, a lot of people would buy another cartridge or two due to;

Modding, trading with yourself, Storage, Nuzlocke without ruining the old save file, corrupted data, and losing them (lets face it, this was a time when cartridges tended to be ruined or lost somehow due to mishandling experience but nowadays we're more used to it, and there's less problems with modding and data corrupting compared to using random action replay codes that could be anything.), and competitive reasons (It was more of a big deal for games like ORAS because competitive players had to grind for the inaccessible pokemon, but with lets go there's no incentive to due to lack of proper online or competitive experience.)

Re: Nintendo Switch GameCube Adapter Delayed In The UK Until May 2019

Araquanid

I ordered mine off of walmart literally last night.

Got the email that it was shipped.

You can use the same gamecube adapter from the Wii U. It was built for Wii U and PC but it works perfectly fine I've heard as long as its set to Wii U and the switch has pro controller enabled. Buying the switch version of it is just nintendo marketing that its for the switch, so if you can get an old one, then this shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Dataminers Unveil The Next Potential Set Of Monsters Coming To Pokémon GO

Araquanid

@Cosats Datamining encouraging piracy and theft?

I guess news shouldn't talk about crime either for "promoting crime".

Its reality dude. If you don't want to see it look away cause believe me most poke-sites and mobile gaming news sites share news like this. Much like any local news station is going to share about the latest shoot out or robber. Do these sites ever say "try it yourself with these easy steps?" no.

And datamining isn't necessarily bootlegging either.

Re: Pokémon Core Series RPG Will Arrive In The Second Half Of 2019

Araquanid

Don't mind it as much now, but I'm probably going to pass either way.

Too simple, no online as far as I know, 60 dollars for 151 pokemon when 700+ plus was available for 40 on the 3ds (yea i know hardware expenses but c'mon, thats a lot of models left out and a lot of reused models and animations for that value..)

Re: Toys R Us Is Preparing To Liquidate Its U.S. Business, Reports Claim

Araquanid

Company just couldn't keep up with the trends sadly. Most kids went electronic, but more importantly online stores offered the content they offered at least 10%-30% cheaper IME.

The only thing TrU offered was some exclusive stuff, but that's assuming you wanted that or didn't go to ebay anyway. It was a nostalgic experience as a kid regardless.

Re: Game Freak Director Discusses Evolution of Pokémon Designs

Araquanid

I think what people truely have a hard time understanding is what exactly makes a pokemon "a pokemon". This particularly rose some huge debates with hoopa-unbound being more "yu-gi-oh" without any real description of what made it more belonging to yu-gi-oh over pokemon.

I don't get why people hate on poorly designed mons, there's over 800, not all of them will be good designs just like how other monster collection games (be it cards, yokai, whatever) have lame designs. Somebody will like it or like it because its hated and ironic. I can understand people complaining about an underwhelming generation in details or their pokemon, but not hating on GF on specific pokemon.

Regardless, I find GF's methods of designing pokemon great, at least they don't just go on google and make what ever fanmon they see.

Re: Discord is Interested in Supporting Nintendo Switch, But Don't Hold Your Breath

Araquanid

If they made it work, that'd be great but just like how skype was never a thing on nintendo consoles I doubt we'd see discord for the switch.

Discord is also more dynamic with its options, bots, servers, etc which would require a massive remake of the app for the switch exclusively (rather than letting you just sign it on the same account you use with your PC or phone.) It'd be great if we got it, but I doubt we'd get "discord" and more like "diet discord" in which case we're better off with something more fleshed out like microsoft's communication system.

Re: Team Behind Wii U Emulator, CEMU, Makes Surprising Progress With Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Araquanid

I don't think this can even be legally lawsuited. Patreon if I'm not mistaken is just a method of donation rather than contract/business profit. Its why the free use claim for copyrighted content uploaded on youtube gets abused and monetized every day through patreon. I don't believe nintendo could lawsuit the emulator anymore than it can lawsuit patreon as a service.

I'm completely against this, this is in fact abusing a service to get around an illegal act of piracy, without it being piracy in context of law. (free use of a product they purchased)

Re: Nintendo Drops The Ban Hammer on Pokémon Sun and Moon Pirates

Araquanid

@MadAdam81 "Even better team" isn't due to hacking more or less just knowing how to build their sets better. Time is irrelevant, some players don't have the time to soft reset for 7 weeks to get a 5 IV heatran.

Any illegal pokemon do not work over online functions so if you lost to a darkrai its cause you lost to a darkrai, not because it was a hacked one. The only issue is the time it took to build the team, well you shouldn't be fighting good teams unfinished with yours to begin with. There's no advantage for the enemy player for building their team in 3 minutes while yours was in an hour.

Not pirating the game by leaking rom hacks which players can optionally download instead of buying the real games, that's a big deal that changes the company (finacially)

Re: Poll: How Excited Are You About Pokémon Sun and Moon?

Araquanid

I'm excited for the games but not as excited as I was for ORAS. There's lots of things I love about sun and moon so far yet at the same time I don't know what else to be excited for, if new megas were announced I'd be even more excited with anticipation on which one of my favorites would potentially get one, but with sun and moon the only anticipation I have would be other mon designs, and what other aloha formes we'll see. I'm excited for a fresh new take on the franchise and something else to spend lots of my time breeding/battling on, but I can't be excited for something gives me nothing to actually be hyped for, being hyped for new pokemon and formes is like being hyped for new skins in MOBAs or DLC, granted those do hype me but only if it's specific to something I really like (example: mega to a fav mon).

I want to be very excited for pokemon like lurantis and tapu koko but idk if i'll have much of a reason to play them, they could do something stupid that makes them worthless and unappreciated like move pools. (Zygarde didn't even get stealth rock, that was a huge factor in why he sucked, if lurantis doesn't get sword's dance or a similar setup move rip.)

Re: Random: Japanese Gamers Decide Which Starter Pokémon Is The Most "Seriously Useless"

Araquanid

@Krisi Cause it's a starter that pathetically needs a mega to be reconized.

Honestly bulba isn't that awful, the vote was probably based around starters to pick from rather than competitive viability. This list seems pretty accurate to me in the fact that if you choose these starters the story modes and gyms will be harder to do without another counter on the team.

@greengecko007 box legendaries are banned in VGC. Idk why we're worried about mega rayquaza in VGC when all box and event legendaries are prohibited as well as soul dew.

Re: Trademarks And Logos For The Next Pokémon Game Surface Online Ahead Of Tomorrow's Nintendo Direct

Araquanid

Ah the ol' "It's trademarked so it's confirmed" belief.

Pokemon Grey, Pokemon Brown, the trademarked oras megas like jynx and plusle/minin, Delta Emerald, and yet we've seen not one of these.

Nintendo trademarks things just to say "ok, we can do this if we decide to" but they usually never become a thing.. Don't you find it ironic how every game that was confirmed never got trademarked? We just got the reveal? and everything that was trademarked never became a thing? We didn't know of X/Y until X/Y suddenly was a thing, we didn't know of oras until the reveal stream flat out reveal plans to show it (and absolutely nothing of it besides a 2 second cutscene and a man infiltrating a kid's house and bathing with him), while this may be like that niconico stream reveal, i doubt it since it's just somebody claiming a trademark (and trademarks aren't something you make overnight...)

I wouldn't get hopes up for this. I mean, it's possible, but I'm holding my excitement until the direct ends.

Re: Man-Made Pokémon Magiana is Revealed, to Star in Upcoming Movie

Araquanid

I really feel uneasy...

Not the pokemon itself, but the direction. Like seriously, a man-made pokemon that came about 500 years ago? All I'm seeing is another porygon.. what's special about this?

The design direction is really cheap imo... when I saw the corocoro image before reading, I said "oh great another pokemon with two mega evolutions... we hated two charizard and mewtwo megas now we have diancie x and y" then when it said new pokemon I was like"..... so we're going to just make everything a new pokemon despite looking exactly like pokemon we already have"

When the zygarde formes were announced I was like "this is new, ok I'll accept this direction" now this went in the complete opposite direction.. this just makes the recent updates seem less like innovation and more like "we just randomly did this, we don't care."

"Man created it 500 years ago" that's not as long as they make it... atleast 500 years wouldn't be described as "ancient" and as somebody mentioned, the pokemon war, whether it be from the lucario movie or the x/y lore, was no where in that timezone.

I feel like they're just making stuff up for the sake of filling space they can't come up with ideas for.

I was a very opptimistic pokemon fan, now I'm starting to understand and see the trend others have fought about even after defending the subject.

Re: Chandelure Will Be the Next Pokkén Tournament Fighter

Araquanid

@Dave24 magikarp was just revealed today as a support pokemon with pachirisu.

Chandelure is an odd one, I may get the game just to main it, but idk. I like usual characters and chandelure is one of my favorite ghost (if aegislash or doublade makes it in here I'm definitely sold)

Re: Video: See the Differences Between Star Fox Zero at E3 and Now

Araquanid

Why did I scroll down to see the comments? I was expecting nothing but bait over the graphics, and so, I was correct...

Lmao, the game looks fine. The dumbest argument I EVER heard about what makes a game good or bad is the graphics.. are people that adapted to CoD that every game has to atleast share CoD's textures to be appealing? Nah. Minecraft shouldn't have sold a single copy, and undertale would have a 0/100 metacritic score instead of 93/100 even though the game only been out two months.

Plus this is nintendo.. we're lashing out at nintendo of all companies about graphics. If a new CoD game came out with poor graphics, I could see that, but since when has nintendo been the company responsible for cool looks and textures?

People need to accept nintendo isn't a serious company like microsoft and sony when it comes to their mature audiences with games. IMO, this game looks great as is, especially an improvement from previous starfox titles, while not beeing too dark toned and surrounded by death.
