Remember, niche games still have their audiences.
One game that looks uninteresting by one people, it's a treasure for other people.
Niche doesn't always mean bad, it just being completely different.
I played Tomodachi Life 3DS and both Miitopia games (3DS & Switch) because the game have quirkiness that match with my creativity sense, that's why I'm the big supporter of The Sims games, ACNH, Mii games.

The original version of FF XII PS2 was weaker in general, from the maximum HP capacity of your Espers, your teams, the incomplete magics like missing Aerora + Earthquake spells (only the Enemies have this ability but still absent on TZA version as purchaseable magics). the Espers cannot be controlled (but can be turned off the Gambit) and some of them required specific conditions to unleash their Overdrive such as Ultima, Hashmal, Zodiark, etc.
But the good news on PS2 version was every character have exactly same Licence Board so they can learn exactly same Magics and Skills so it made between of them are less relevant since they can do same abilities, only their Espers they hold and their Mist skills made them different.

So, having both PS2 version and TZA version is like having both different version of the same games.
The TZA version have better character stats progression but the limitation from their Zodiac style Licence board limited their abilities mastery and the missing of Summon animation. Also, the way of obtaining certain skills or Magics was different on TZA version compared with original PS2 version.

I personally enjoyed FF XII because of the Zodiac style Espers (Man... I got very ugly Cucuhlainn design as Scorpio Zodiac, my Zodiac. Mateus (Pisces) and Ultima (Virgo) are the Best design in my opinion.
Zeromus (Cancer), Chaos (Taurus) also looked cool but Zalera (Gemini) looked really scary with half of his hand is an imprisoned long haired lady so they looked like two people huging each other when Zalera crossed his arm.
Cucuhlainn (Scorpio) and Shemhazai (Sagittarius) are the worst design in my opinion. Shemhazai can be have better looking as Centaur with horse legs but it looked very odd with humanoid form as front legs but the one leg of robotic horse behind her head. And she tried to give Yuna's shot gun in the air pose during her Overdrive animation.
The storyline of FF XII was dry boring as hell.
Too much political issue conversation with very Shakespeare level of English vocabulary from the elite characters, basic English vocabulary from pheasant like Vaan or Penello.
FF XII has no humour, no memorable / hilarious moments like FF X/X-2 or FF XIII.
Their voice acting like they were talking inside the box for English version.
FF XII OST was perfect, some of them I used for my storytelling to show the specific situation such as doomed (Esper Battle theme) when I did storytelling of Harvey the Woodcutter and the Goddess was angry to dishonest woodcutter.

Well, have fun with FF XII.
I have played the TZA version on Switch, long time ago I have ever played the PS2 version (but with pirated discs) and I will look for the PS2 version as well to replay the original version.

Just because Switch 2 sold faster, it does mean it will convince me to buy the machine immediately.
Currently I still have no interest to get Switch 2 due to the game key card issue and other things that still keep me on the fence, but I still keep my eyes on Switch 2 situation.
If I don't see better situation from Switch 2, then I will going further with my Retro route and PlayStation route.

Re: Opinion: A Big Life Change Means I'm Happy To Wait For A Brand New Animal Crossing

Anti-Matter

The next Animal Crossing should be going full 3D exploration, smooth 60 fps, more diversity environments, Dragon Quest Builders style, more interactable furniture with meaningful purpose like The Sims, less yada yada, villagers still stay forever until we kick them out intentionally, then this will be the Animal Crossing game I really want to play.
No more stupid gimmick from GameCube era.

@Serena_
Well, maybe you feel content with that standard.
But my standard is 60 fps and nothing wrong for cute game like ACNH get 60 fps.
Look at Fantasy Life i as comparison on PS5, it set my expectation bar really really high after played the game.
Also, I used Time Travel for time efficiency so I can do other stuffs or playing other games after I finished with one big business in ACNH after doing a lot if Time Travel.
I don't play like Nintendo gamers here.
I'm different.

@TerribleTerabytes
I mean who cares if I play ACNH with Time Travel.
I have rights to use that feature since it offered from beginning and this version have no harm by doing so.
I don't buy the antic idea from older Animal Crossing game.
The new Animal Crossing now become The Sims style , no villagers moving out by themself, less yada yada, no consequences by doing Time Travel, yay... This is what I really want for Animal Crossing.
I don't feel robbed something in experience.
I play with my style as a God in ACNH.
This is how do I play ACNH.

@TerribleTerabytes
And that's why I hate that stupid gimmick from older Animal Crossing games.
I want to keep all my chosen villagers forever after working hard to get them.
And ACNH gave me what I want, The Sims style gameplay and able to keep my villagers forever.
I don't care for the opinion by calling me cheater or not about Time Travel.
That feature offered from beginning in ACNH and I can exploit that feature to get the things I want or I want to play with specific times when I was really busy.
I don't buy the stupid gimmick idea from older Animal Crossing games, thank goodness those stupid gimmicks are gone in newer Animal Crossing game so I can play ACNH with my full total control.

@TerribleTerabytes
Who cares?
I play ACNH with efficiency.
I still have to work hard to shape my whole island and getting specific villagers.
I did everything to get most wanted villager like Raymond by Time Travel, keep cycling the days and go back on previous days until I really get him.
I spent for 10 hours just to get Raymond appeared on my campsite, thanks to Time Travel.

Even for business purpose, the policy of locking every important stuffs behind the Amiibo is just doesn't sit right for me.
Amiibo Festival for example which you must have at least 1 Amiibo figurine to play and still have to tap on the Wii U Pad NFC reader everytime to roll the dice or using skills in the game.
I like Amiibo Festy gameplay, but the over mandatory of using Amiibo and persistently using Amiibo for every micro commands just so ridiculous.
The Amiibo figurines look great but by locking the stuffs like that, it just only shown the antic behavior to be different just for a sake of being different.

I personally still understand for older gen games that rarely able to reach 60 fps like on PS2 / GameCube / Wii, but for this era in year 2020's, 60 fps is became my new standard especially after I got satisfied from PS5 standard with around 99% the games I played on PS5 , either PS4 or PS5 games get 60 fps performance and the reason I keep avoiding the Switch 1 version for the 3rd party multi console games because it's unacceptable for me to pay same price of same games but I got 30 fps on Switch 1 version, 60 fps on PS5 version. I will immediately choose the version which give me 60 fps performance.
I noticed ACNH on my OG Switch 1 machine have worse fps after more updates added.
It felt like the game was running on 20 - 25 fps and took a few seconds to load my furnitures outside.
After playing Fantasy Life I on PS5, when I revisited my ACNH, suddenly it looked so bad in performance.
Some gamers with their antic don't have problem with 30 fps, but I don't.
I expect something better, not the same excuse to please the same antics.
