As a Nintendo fan, I do want Donkey Kong Bananza to win, but considering that like the Academy Awards, more serious and mature games tend to win, I do hope Hollow Knight: Silksong or Hades II win as GotY because those games are also great to play.
Honestly I prefer this version than the SNES original. Don't blame me, I have played Super Mario World for the first time back in 1999 when I visited my cousin in Tampa, but when I got the purple GBA with Super Mario Advance 2, I just couldn't stop playing it. The voices added to the game and Luigi being its own character instead of a pallet swap of Mario were great changes.
Everything has a beginning and an end. Zion has been such an amazing person through his contributions to Nintendo Life and he will be missed. My best wishes for his next project in life.
Feels disappointing that the updates for this game are just bug fixes and no addition of Galaxy 2, considering the power of the Switch 2 graphics. But at least Nintendo is good enough to update the game to be playable on Switch 2.
I have to thank Sunflowersmith as i have a better appreciation to cows, but I am still confused why Nintendo changed their names from Moo Moo to just simply Cow. At least I know who's gonna be my main in Mario Kart World...
We all knew this was gonna happen sooner or later, but what makes me sad is that fan made video games as also fan films have proven to be high quality and made with love and effort from those who love the gaming industry. This hits even harder considering that even if Miyamoto is involved in The Legend of Zelda live action movie, Avi Arad is also involved (For those who want more context, he is the guy who forced Venom in Spider-Man 3 against Sam Raimi's vision), so I feel the movie still has some chances to be successful like the Super mario movie, but we shall be cautious. I know of the IP issue (thanks Disney), but fans should be able to create content that honors the video games they grew up with.
I don't like the idea of Switch 2 cartridge cases being bigger when the only thing inside will be the game. It would be a useless use of the case unless Nintendo goes back to making manuals for each game, as it was an essential part of video games since the era of the SNES and slowly disappearing during the mid Wii era.
I am glad Tetris NES is finally getting the love it deserves by being added to NSO. Besides Super Mario Bros., I grew up playing Tetris in my dad's NES and I can say that as an autistic person, this game helped me a lot to become more patient as also keeping me focused on one activity without being distracted. This is the definitive version of Tetris every nintendo gamer should play at least once in their life.
I have to say that the game awards has been feeling recently more like a pseudo-direct with the abundance of trailers and less than 25% of the whole show is dedicated to the awards itself. Besides, I have to agree that Genshin Impact being nominated almost every time feels bad, specially as its like Just Dance winning every year in the KCA as also the controversy surrounding its parent company. I wanna see more diversity within the nominations as Nintendo has been almost left out when in recent years they have released amazing games worth to compete against AAA games. Either this year TGA give us a great ceremony with deserving winners or I would play Superman 64 and try to beat the game.
People can complain about the rules, and its obviously we might go against it as its part of human nature, but honestly if I ever did something like that in Japan, I would be ashamed of myself, as the country is centered about politeness and respect, and so far foreign tourists don't obey the rules thinking its the same as in the USA. I feel tourists should respect the rules of any place outside the USA, specially as that will make the image of foreigners being ruined by their own actions.
I remember my mom bought this game for me and its officially the last game I got for the Nintendo 64. It was a good game overall, but never got to finish the game 100% Blame it on Colorado, and you know what I am talking about with those tight turns and short roads.
Not gonna lie, I loved the concept of the New 3DS model of changeable plates, but I fell in love with my current New Nintendo 3DS XL SNES Edition, and still works perfectly today. I would had loved having the smaller one with the Super Mario Maker 8-Bit plates as I feel they make the 3DS look even better. I am glad this handheld is still getting the attention it deserves.
I know X has been a very toxic playform lately and Nintendo wants to distance itself from the controversy. But somehow I have a feeling this could also mean the Switch could start the same path the Wii U and 3DS had regarding their online functions being slowly discontinues as rumors of the “Switch 2” are getting stronger.
I am glad the service will still be online for a while, as I am almost done completing the pokedex for X and Omega Ruby (6 Pokemon) as also getting Zeraora through wonder trade for 100% Pokemon Bank pokedex to be registered and later moved to Home. Still its sad the internet services for the 3DS is gonna end soon.
Honestly Twtich had so much potential yet werent able to use the app properly. Almost all the recent streams i watched them through the switch as it fell somehow magical. Gonna miss the app when it goes down.
@Waluigi451 you are right! I kinda forgot thats how it worked back then. But Still OoA/OfS are a great zelda duology that deserves to be played as it has some charm on them.
I loved these games and played them on the Virtual Console for the 3DS. But the question is... since both are needed to unlock the true ending, is this a tease for the Gen I & II of Pokemon arriving to NSO soon?
Its a wonderful story about getting a rare legendary pokemon no one knew most about. Now its easy to get even a shiny legendary pokemon through Wonder Trade, but honestly that was an amazing story about you getting a Mew.
Super Mario All Stars is an incredible game, i got to play it for the first time through the wii, and shocked me that the GBA mario games were ports of the all stars versions. I still have an issue with playing SMB on its SNES form as i was used to play the original game on my dad's NES. But overall its a game every mario fan should play.
Honestly, GCN games for the NSO feels like the servers will be overloaded as those games were around 1 GB of memory, and I feel the best way is ports/remasters for the Switch eShop
Honestly, Sega did way better than Nintendo if we consider the "All Stars" brand. The new DLC somehow brings in new content and feels fresh. Even if the GameGear games haven't aged well, at least it was worth the addition of these games. Also, playing as amy does has its setbacks but its a nice addition to the playable characters
This game looks amazing! feels like the New Super Mario Bros version of Sonic... updated graphics but with the classic gameplay. I have been playing Sonic Origins for a while and this announcement makes me wanna play the game now
I feel this could help Rovio boost sales as Sega was a fundamental part of euro gaming in the late 80s and 90s. Maybe we might see an Angry Birds and Sonic Crossover (just kidding), but honestly I hope this helps to build up a great friendship that will be vital to gaming.
I played Super Mario Bros in almost every console it has been ported, yet somehow i feel more comfortable playing the GBC version as it was the one that I grew up with.
Giuseppe… reminds me of that Dorkly video of the 3rd Mario Bros that lives a normal life. Still its good we shall hear Mario’s original VA in the movie even if he is not voicing Mario himself.
This is proving that Sega is having a rebirth and making an already good compilation game even more better. If only Nintendo did that with 3D All Stars by adding super mario galaxy 2
I remember that on my original Nintendo account, I got the 30th anniversary Legend of Zelda theme for my 3DS. Unfortunately my account was hacked and lost around 2019 and when I got my actual account, there wasn't any way to get that theme for my SNES classic 3DS back, but still its my favorite 3DS theme.
Honestly, E3 isn't fit for Nintendo as the Directs are a better way to showcase games coming for the Nintendo Switch while saving costs of preparing a conference area for their products.
Honestly, Nintendo has a huge opportunity doing an animated series around A Link to the Past using this animation and art style. And it won't need voice acting as many projects, like Samurai Jack, has proven that sometimes no dialogue can be a huge benefit.
I am gonna use my old 3DS (Since the new one I got a few years ago has all my games)and set it up to see how many streetpass I can get. And instead of seeing how many until the end of the year, I am gonna do a monthly review and compare results using the hashtags MakeStreetpassGreenAgain and BringStreetpassBack so we can be part of this wonderful journey alongside Zion.
I say that a Legend of Zelda based on the late 80's anime art style with a storytelling similar to Breath of the Wild is a winning formula for TLOZ to arrive on theaters.
After watching new footage of the Super Mario bros. movie, I have planned playing Super Mario All Stars and its 3D version on Switch. Its gonna be a Super Mario weekend for me.
The recent footage demonstrates that Miyamoto knows his fandom and made his best to produce a great super mario movie. I can feel my inner child screaming of joy.
My answer is obviously Pokemon Violet, although I might also play some Super Mario All Stars as it has been a while since I haven't played that classic.
In retrospect, the Wii U was a middle point between the Wii and the Switch, as also the low sales could had been attributed to the fact most gamers moved onto more matured and powerful consoles, as during that era the Wii U was barely mentioned. I bought mine around 2014 with Smash Bros. I dont regret getting the console.
If Mario's VA makes a tweet on Super Mario Sunshine's 20th anniversary, it demonstrates the game its a great one and deserves its love. Also is one of my favorite 3D mario games.
I just recently finished 1/2 of my internship before graduation, so I might get up to date on gaming and play some Sonic Origins, and maybe later some good old GCN games, like Melee or even Double Dash.
My biggest regret was not buying an official gamecube memory card, as the one i have tends to get corrupted often when i try to play Melee. I lost so many times my progress on many games, that i wished i did bought one with the console
This makes total sense, as the Switch is also a portable console and it could be a great chance to play the pokemon games on the GameBoy line and pass them onto Sword/Shield or Scarlet/Violet.
The Legend of Zelda is the ideal IP to be adapted outside of video games, but if properly done. I feel that a series could be ideal, and Link being mute could still work, just look at Breath of the Wild and its cinematic storytelling.
