Yeah I only just realised that, I’d sent one out when I was still in Ireland and when I got him in NYC he had a postcard and accompanying pictures, pretty cool

Just levelled up a Pikmin that I got in New York last week, sent him back for his decor… the Switch 2 will be out before he makes it back to me in the North of Ireland 😅

Calm before the storm? I’m just back from New York and thankfully I got to visit the Nintendo New York store and it was a great experience. Very busy, but no mention or trace of Switch 2 as yet! I didn’t see anyone camping outside, either 😅 got myself a Mario tee, my son got a Pikmin jumper, I’m quite proud to say, and I got my niece a Princess Peach tee, but keeping that for her birthday!

I wish I had the time to try even a fraction 😅 I have played some of my all time favourites, like Super Mario World, Yoshi’s Island, Killer Instinct, DKC etc and found a few new classics like Mario Picross. I love it, great value as far as I’m concerned.

Soul Calibur on Dreamcast was one of those games that I can say TRULY blew me away. It looked absolutely incredible.

I’d love to know how much they sold, as well as the inevitable drop off.

Any Switch 2s going for cheap 😅 I have been a bit disheartened recently but I am excited for launch and for my fellow fans who’ll be able to get in on launch day. Looking forward to joining in the fun further down the line

@Freek ha, loved your comment! I’ll be 44 in May but I sat grinning like a loon the whole way through the Switch 2 Direct! My kids, nieces and nephews were all buzzing… for me 😆 for financial reasons I won’t be getting the new hardware anytime soon, sadly, but I am very excited for launch and fellow fans who will be on board in the coming months.

@Narrator1 that Minecraft game in the Top10 is, I’m pretty sure, the Switch version so it’s not all bad lol. With Switch getting the lion’s share of Hogwarts sales too, I’d almost say it’s refreshing to see third party games getting in to the upper echelons!

Seems like a silly move by Sony, making the Switch2 look more attractive 😅

Mario Kart 8 looks so great that I often wished I could drive around and explore, just enjoy the ‘world’. Now we have Mario Kart World. It’ll be a long time before I can jump in to this next generation of Nintendo goodness, but I’m very excited to do so.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct actually seems to have given ALL Switch software a boost, with all titles climbing bar Xenoblade and Odyssey, and multiple re-entries in the Top40, for example Smash and Echoes of Wisdom

@Ryu_Niiyama good morning, (where I am anyway 😅), I did actually hesitate with that particular line! Negative in the sense that I am buzzing for Switch 2, I was more than impressed with what they’re delivering with the new hardware, delighted actually. It’s everything most have wanted and more. I am ready to upgrade and fully intended to get in and engage, day 1… I just have felt really deflated in the days since and the Switch 2 feels very distant to me now. I think I have let the backlash and negative news, articles get to me too. I really want Nintendo to continue their success.

Not Hall Effect… (some) people clamouring for it probably don’t ACTUALLY know what it means. These could be just as good or even better. They’re not gonna want that pain again, drift will not be an issue. Affording one is my personal issue lol

@GrailUK my eight year old niece watched the Switch 2 Direct last night. She rang me at home during it asking when it was out, saying she doesn’t want to wait 😅 I have no doubt she will have it for Christmas. I hope I do too lol, as I’m sure you’ve read in other articles I personally am out for now. There are three Switch in my house, two original models and one revision Switch. There are three in my brother’s house, A Switch, revised model and a Switch Lite. Nintendo will sell to both our households, but I can’t see there being multiple units in either home this generation. Either way I’m excited for launch and for fans like your good self, if a little jealous lol

I am undoubtedly OUT at this point. I simply cannot afford or justify jumping in as an early adopter, as much as I’d like that. That’s fine, that’s MY situation, my call. I sat with a smile on my face the whole way through the Direct, but that smile has been wiped from my 44 year old face with each passing day of negative news. The hardware and games look incredible, Nintendo has delivered what most people wanted as far as I’m concerned, and more. But that OBVIOUSLY comes at a price, and it’s one I personally cannot currently pay. I am VERY excited for the launch and genuinely delighted for my fellow fans who will be there day one, and I WILL keep playing… but it’ll be my existing games on my good old OG Switch, and that’s negative news for Nintendo.

It’ll be a wish list for sure, cuz I won’t be able to afford ANY of it 😅 I’m out, I’m extremely sad to say, but excited as a fan, for my fellow fans

I simply cannot afford this at the minute, sadly. Nintendo will continue to sell a LOT of Nintendo Switch consoles with this news, Switch will definitely become the biggest console in video game history.

Nintendo would never show Switch2 footage in a Direct pertaining to Switch1 games. Credit where it’s due, it’s simply a phenomenal job and show what Switch remains capable of.

Hollow Knight is an absolute masterpiece. These guys are competing with themselves now, they set the bar so high. That is very, very difficult. I have every faith this will be a masterpiece too.
