Got the theme in Tetris 99 last night, so whatever gaming time I have left will be spent playing Mario’s Picross and Donkey Kong via Gameboy Nintendo Switch Online.

Switch hardware got a nice boost this week! After dipping just below 40k last week, Switch sales across all three SKUs are 45k+. Great sales for a a physical PS5 game in Japan and you’d imagine the digital sales at least equal that figure. Not bad. Be interesting to see what happens over the next couple of weeks with hardware though.

Switch 1 games running on Switch 2 shouldn’t REALLY be that exciting to me… but it is 😅 I voted for that, New 3D Mario and Monster Hunter… even though I’ve never played any MonHun games, I just think it would be exciting and is important for Switch2. Resident Evil too, I think it’s important Switch2 gets a game made for it, like Rise, one of my big disappointments remains that we never got one made for Nintendo Switch. Cannot wait for the Direct.

10/10 for me, have had mine since May 2018 I believe. Mine is still running perfectly, no problems bar a few pairs of joycons repaired by Nintendo for free. A game changer for me, loved by my son and I. My daughter even got one too but didn’t play much beyond Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Switch 2, show us what you’ve got, we’re ready.

I’m surprised there wasn’t an uptick in PS5 sales with Yakuza hitting shop shelves. Surely Monster Hunter will move the needle significantly, even if it’s just for a week or two. Switch sales now under 40K a week but man, when you look at the rest, that is still damn impressive.

Rolled credits on Animal Well, been playing it quite intensely this past week or so. Went straight back in for more of course but I’m struggling to make any more progress at the minute, it’s really cool to get lost and just suss it out yourself, but I’m not too sure how long I’ll keep playing through this second layer, if I continue to feel like I’m not getting anywhere. Have a good weekend all.

More devs should take a leaf out of Nintendo’s book. Their games often look stunning, using clever techniques and styles. What’s the point of going over the top when your target hardware can’t run it decently?

Super Mario World is quite simply one of the greatest games of all time, as is Yoshi’s Island and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Astonishing consistency from Nintendo

Super Mario Galaxy, via my physical copy of Super Mario 3D All-Stars. I have 120 Stars with Mario, and I finished playing last night having got 100 with Luigi. I’ll hopefully get the rest and head to the centre of the Universe before the end of the weekend.

Wow, OLED model on its own outselling the PS5 family of systems, more than 2.5 times over.

I absolutely adore 3D Land! I bought an Ice White 3DS with this game, fantastic as far as I’m concerned.
