Michael Jackson didn’t compromise with his art. When his label balked at the scope and cost involved with the THRILLER Short Film, he made it happen. He got Martin Scorsese to direct the BAD Short Film. Scream is still the most expensive music video ever made. They Don’t Care About Us was filmed in Brazil despite opposition of their government who didn’t want the world to see exactly what he wanted to expose, the poverty outside of the capital. Granted, not every one has the luxury of not worrying about things like budget, but Team Cherry have deservedly got themselves in this position and we’re all gonna reap the benefits very soon. I’m excited.

Hollow Knight was not only an absolute masterpiece, but it was outrageously good value for money. I have no idea what price Silksong will be, but I think they’ll price it fairly and generously again. Regardless, it’ll be worth it.

Absolutely well deserved in my opinion. I was genuinely astounded by the size, the quality of it when I purchased almost on a whim. A masterpiece, in my humble opinion.

I’ll probably get on Switch, be interesting to learn what options there’ll be. hope to be on the Switch2 bandwagon some time next year. I got caught up in the hype when Hollow Knight originally launched on Switch and went ahead and bought without knowing very much about it… the game is an absolute masterpiece as far as I’m concerned.

@JohnnyMind I think the first game I ever played was Chuckie Egg on the BBC Micro. I’ve had a Commodore 64, MasterSystem, SNES, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, GameCube, Wii, various Nintendo handhelds and now my beloved Switch! Still saving for my Switch2, sometimes I genuinely consider staying away from here so I don’t lose enthusiasm.

@Pillowpants of course, some games are basically unplayable, and some people are certainly more sensitive to specific things than others, but it just gets tiresome these days. Just enjoy, have fun, it’s a hobby! I hope you’re having fun 😊

Console gamers now have morphed in to the P.C. Master Race I used to read about in the magazines. Developers have to take some of the blame, push the boundaries, sure, but if your game is gonna chug? Change something. Adjust, compromise. But yeah, seems we can’t enjoy, or be seen to be enjoying a GAME, if it’s anything less than flawless. Well, there’s never been a flawless game or experience and never will be. This is a hobby. Have fun and appreciate the joy and beauty in it.

I’d imagine it’s still gonna be an incredible experience on Switch2. We sometimes act as if every game runs flawlessly everywhere but Nintendo hardware. This game doesn’t run flawlessly anywhere, but it’s still held in high regard, and that’s an understatement.

Hollow Knight on Switch is damn near perfect. I have no idea how much better a game can play, I’m a Switch only gamer, but hopefully I’ll find out next year 😅 slowly but surely saving for one.

They simply must not have a Switch 2 dev kit, that’s the only way this makes sense, right? Nightdive are incredible by the way

@LikelySatan sure it does, but people disregard games simply because they’ve, as evidenced in comments above, ‘heard’ the performance is poor. Not everything you hear is true is what I’m saying, again, as evidenced in comments above 👍

People must do themselves out of so many good games just because they’ve heard it ‘runs like crap’.

@Tasuki man that first movie… I still love it. Our Dad (R.I.P.) used to work away in England and he brought us home a VHS with Sponge written on it. I don’t know what that was all about, but it was a terrible copy of the Turtles movie but we LOVED it. ‘Man I LOVE being a Turtle!’ 🤪

@dartmonkey I don’t visit or view them outside of what I see here, and I often find what is plucked out of the bigger picture as the headline or the tagline, makes me feel negative towards them. I’m not a fanboy, I don’t have a Switch2, (currently saving for one, hopefully next year 🤞), but I, likely unfairly, think of them as killjoys trying to take the fun and joy out of this fun and joyful hobby 😅 I don’t mean to offend or upset anyone, I’m just trying to explain. It could be just me, I hope it is Sir. I don’t like negativity there’s enough of it in all our lives, nor do I need everything dressed up. But sometimes the headline alone is a downer, even if the content is not necessarily so.

My dislike of DF comes from how @NintendoLife generally present them here, which I’m sure is not their intention but something to think about. Anyway, good for them I’m sure and I hope it leads to bigger and better things and a happier existence all round for those involved, I’ve no doubt they’re all passionate, talented people.

I took a walk on Wednesday in Newcastle, local coastal area for me here in Northern Ireland. I was wearing my red Mario T-shirt with the big ‘M’ on the front, from the New York Nintendo store, and I had a young boy tell me he liked my top, and another shout ‘Mario!’ at me lol not gonna lie it made my day 😅 I took my son to the cinema yesterday evening and he was wearing his Pikmin jumper, and the wee girl working there told him she loved it 🥰

@Danrenfroe2016 there’s a Switch2 hidden in my house but it’s for my son for Christmas! I’m currently saving for one though, my kids got me a savings tin for Father’s Day and stuck a picture of a Switch2 on it lol

Wow! DOOM 2016 was the first game I downloaded when I got my Switch way back, I’m actually currently playing it right now. I have since bought every DOOM available on Switch, Quake and Quake II, Duke Nukem… all games I loved back in the day, and while I was always fascinated by Hexen and Heretic in the magazines, I never ever played them.

You guys can work away at Judgement Day difficulty, I just generally cannot do that anymore 😆 my gaming skills are definitely aging, sadly lol looks incredible
