I was interested until I saw the 3h limit, no matter what you do. Never mind then, I'll play at my own pace from the start when it comes out properly, then.
It's awkward to use and the volume levels are abysmal (to hear the voice memories properly, I have to turn up the volume, which means all other notifications end up too loud). The content itself is interesting enough and worth checking out, but it should have been added to the game itself, not to a separate mobile app.
I really wish they had a more granular way of transfering stuff over. Some games I'm done with, so I don't mind if they transfer over the save data. However, I'm not mothballing my Switch just yet, I still want to play some games on it.
Well, today was fun. Turned on the Switch, but it said none of my joycons were charged (even got the "Battery depleted" message pop up for both sets), despite being on the charger overnight. My account had an exclamation mark next to it, but that vanished when I tried to check my settings. After 2-3 reboots, it finally offered me the system update, which I did. After it was completed, the joycons were all mysteriously shown to be fully charged. Thank heavens for stability, eh?
Most of the Detective Conan video games were published on Nintendo consoles, but only one of them was ever localised (PAL only), which is a real shame! Even more curious, there was only 1 game released on the Switch: some low-effort reskin of a basic infinite runner game. I really hope we can get remasters/remake of all the games!
There is no mention of the multiplayer elements of the game in the review. Reading up on the WiiU version, it seemed quite an important part of late game content. Have there been any improvements or changes in the new version?
Are there any details available about the Online features of this version compared to the Wii U one? It's one of the only aspects of the game that puts me off.
I can't wait to play it! I really hope that they'll announce a remaster/remake of the Trails in the Sky trilogy for modern consoles to celebrate the 20th anniversary...
@Shadeon_Koopa Thanks for the reply! Sounds like I'll enjoy it, and hopefully I'll be up to the challenge. The Piczle games are less complex and polished overall than Jupiter titles, but they have a lot of charm. I can highly recommend Piczle Cross Adventure. It's a lot of fun!
@Shadeon_Koopa You completed it? What did you make of it? I've been keeping an eye on it since the early access started, but I'm waiting for the Switch version.
I'm very much looking forward to this game, along with Logiart Grimoire (which I hope will get a definite release date in the ever-rumoured upcoming Direct, as the Steam version seems to be doing well). One can never have too many picross-style games.
I thoroughly enjoyed their first three games, so I was looking forward to their next title. Maybe this means we'll get more games from the team with the full support of SQEX from now on?
This game was announced from the start as a f2p game and now, over a year later, it's getting a "physical" release...? @popey1980 is right, this will never be f2p.
@Shadeon_Koopa That's great to hear! Picross games with some sort of added storylines are always better than just a bunch of puzzles lined up, but you're right, can't argue with more Picross.
I'm currently playing through Pictlogica FF on my 3DS (well, when it lets me, I'm up to over 300H+ delay between stages, and there's no way to buy Kupo Nuts now that the shop is closed), but I would love them to port it to the Switch! Has anyone tried Logiart Grimoire yet? It looks nice! I would definitely buy the Switch version, I'm not used to playing Picross games with a mouse/keyboard.
Wow, this is depressing for many reasons, most of them mentioned in other comments. If anything, this must mean that the F2P version is even further away than I assumed it would be...
I really wanted the coop multiplayer to be good. A great FF with coop multiplayer would be awesome! This FFCC has so much potential to explore, I wish they could find a way to make the most of it.
@JohnnyMind Indeed, and if they're not careful, they'll push it too far. KH Missing-Link will eventually come out (even if there's been no news in months) and that will definitely put a dent in the pool of potential whales who could pour money into Dreamlight Valley. (Although, I assume the player base might not entirely overlap, and some people might double dip anyway.)
@JohnnyMind I mean, it's not hard to understand why they're waiting, given how well the Founder's Pack still sells even so long after launch, but there has to be a limit to the meaning of "early access", right?
Interesting how some reviews say it's too easy and others recommend using the "invincibility" feature to get through the harder bits. It looks fun, but I think I'll wait before getting it.
@PinderSchloss After seeing their staggered releases for XC2, I actually waited to play XC3 until DLC wave 3 was released so I could get the "full" experience in one go. It was very frustrating to wait, but I'm glad I did it that way. By the time DLC wave 4 came around, the game was still fresh in my mind, but I had enough of a breather not to be overwhelmed or bored. Games that keep piling on piecemeal content over a long period of time just don't suit me. I don't want to have to keep coming back every few months after I'm done with my playthrough. (I'm looking at you AC Valhalla, what a tedious chore you were...) It's a real shame the Pyra/Mythra amiibos weren't ready to be implemented earlier. They would have been a neat addition to have, but for me, it's too little too late.
@Cheez Thanks! I'll look into it some more. The ifixit guide says that the foam is really delicate and tears easily, which is my main concern. The rest of it looks manageable with some patience.
Dreamlight Valley has consistently been in the top sellers rankings (even the main rankings, not just the digital releases) ever since it came out in September last year, but I guess they weren't making as much money out of the "founder's pack" for Speedstorm? I suppose going F2P means they can start to make more money with microtransactions. But yeah, I'm starting to wonder whether they'll delay the F2P version of Dreamlight Valley to 2024 if it's still selling so well even now...
@fabiop Thanks for the headsup! I thought GAME had an exclusive distribution deal. Amazon.fr seems OOS and the other european websites want ~50euros... I'll ponder whether to trust coolshop at £38 then.
@John_Deacon I agree. It's been on my wishlist ever since it was released and I've kept an eye on it ever since. Gutted we can't get the physical version here.
After so much time, it's great that it's finally "now available to pre-order". If someone could point me to a way to pre-order the EU physical version, I'd be very grateful.
Long time lurker, but created an account just to thank @starlac for making me realise that FF Pictologica had not, in fact, been removed from the 3DS eShop when the iOS/Android version died. I immediately downloaded it and it's been great fun so far! While it was still online, the mobile version was a pain to play from Europe due to the lag from the JP servers, so I gave up on it. Thank you also to @Guile for reminding me to update my games before it's too late.

Re: Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake Launches October, Switch 2 Version Confirmed
@Pat_trick Same for me. I'm not going to buy any game for Switch 2 that's a game-key. I'll also be getting Raidou Remastered on PS5 instead.

@cosmograph Me too! However, I'm really hoping they'll release Ring Fit Adventure 2, or something similar as soon as possible.

@jco83 Was it? I was keeping an eye on the bundles available, but I didn't notice it. I guess that would make sense then.

It is utterly fascinating to see that Forspoken is in the top 20, yet FFXVI is now nowhere to be seen.
