Re: Nintendo Direct September 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

wolvesboy

Right,

I went into this with a lot of hope, I was expecting loads and to be honest I left a little bit underwhelmed!

When the biggest announcement for me was virtual boy (yes I know it’s hated, but I’ve always wanted one and I know I won’t be able to afford it) says just how underwhelmed I was. However I did instantly preordered the holder and if it’s not docked into the virtual boy attachment I presume it plays 2D, but I do think ALL the virtual boy games should be available.

Also announcing the Kirby amiibo made zero sense as it ate into the 60 minutes and I felt they couldve easily been mentioned on the Air Rider direct (the 1st one - it doesn’t need another direct)

Oh and I already knew about the movie before the direct so that was 20 mins wasted.

Like I said no surprises for me and I love directs, this though for me was a bit of a dud one

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Unveils A Newly Discovered Mega Evolution

wolvesboy

You know what,
I kept quiet about these mega Evolution Pokémon.
But I just feel like these Megas are so lazy of a design.
To me it feels like all they keep doing is giving them bigger heads or adjusting them just enough to call them megas.
I’m looking forward to the game but I just feel like this is a gimmick only tailored to those who requested it.
Arceus Legends didn’t have Megas and that’s a work of art of a game, so I hope this game is gonna at least match that.

Re: Gallery: Here's A Closer Look At The London Pop-Up Pokémon Center's Exclusive Merch

wolvesboy

I was there yesterday and was quite impressed, however due to an accident o the motorway we were 40 mins late for our slot but the staff understood.

Unfortunately the child small psyduck T-shirts, the pencil cases and water bottles were all sold out.

Also don’t buy ALL your Pokemon Center UK stuff from here (although it’s very tempting not to) as you get a 15% off code at checkout.

Re: Pokémon Company "Investigating" Registration Improvements After London Pop-Up's Online Issues

wolvesboy

This year was the worse that I’ve experienced trying to get a ticket

In fact if it wasn’t for the workaround I wouldn’t have got one, I would’ve liked an earlier time slot but ikm grateful I’ve got one.

I didn’t have much problem getting the tickets to the others and Worlds but what I heard was bots caused the site to crash and bits have took most of the slots

Re: Nintendo Asks Switch Online Playtest Program Participants To "Not Discuss Or Disclose Content"

wolvesboy

Sadly, I didn’t realise all this was going on.

However I can proudly say that if I was selected I would’ve been in the very small minority of people who would’ve not leaked anything.

I think the ones who had a NSO + Expansion Pass from day one when the service first launched should’ve been contacted with a special link to register 24 hours in advance would’ve been better.

Obviously I would love to k ow what I missed out on but if I were to guess I would say either Pokemon GB trading system or GC Titles

Re: Memory Pak: Making Contact With The "Ungoogleable" Game I Couldn't Quite Remember

wolvesboy

So in 1998

I had my very first PC, on it were some games.

I was rocking the latest voodoo2 graphics card of the time!

I had a game made by Virgin Interactive and it was a match 3 Jewel game. It’s not Bejewelled before you ask.

It was on a 2D grid and you basically matched different gems.

It might’ve not been a PC game as I had Pandemonium on it as well.

The name of that game is still a mystery to me

Re: Talking Point: After Three Months, What's Your Zelda: TOTK Completion Percentage?

wolvesboy

Ok, I have a confession

I still haven’t finished BotW I’ve had it since it came out and still not finished it

Want to know something even worse!

I have TotC collectors still sitting fully sealed as I haven’t had chance to play it yet.

I know I’m a bad person, may you all throw stones at me and call me a non gamer if you wish.

As you can imagine I can’t vote as the option of “I haven’t played it although I have it” isn’t available

Sorry all

Re: Switch Online N64 Controllers Are Back In Stock Now (UK)

wolvesboy

@Markiemania95 too late I used the link as I was in a rush and now I’m getting the wrong controller thanks Ollie and Nintedolife, I’ve only been waiting over a year

I even tried to get it cancelled on the phone but they can’t cancel it until I receive it and now I’ve missed out

I mean why would the wrong link be put up, I’ve never seen this happen before 😞

Re: Gallery: Nintendo Shares More Screenshots Of Pokémon Legends: Arceus For Switch

wolvesboy

Right, I’ve been holding off on commenting on this but here goes
I’ve been coming to NintendoLife since CVG shut its doors and I’ve loved watching the site build and even the creation of the YouTube channel

But I have to admit it but the other day I turned off the video on Arceus Legends on the YouTube channel as it was just bashing the game, I mean it’s not even out yet and although John, Zion and Alex have great analysis usually this video just left a bad taste in my mouth, it was bad within BDSP but this is even worse

As someone who grew up in the age of the home computer and trust me there were loads of limitations it got me thinking have we gone back to the bit wars? Games should be enjoyed for their playability, their enjoyment and storyline and how much it makes us happy

When I see comments online in multiple places saying the grass isn’t green enough or the water isn’t clear it just reminds me about the bit wars all again

I say, the game may or may not be perfect but instead of making comments about a tree or grass, as long as the game is good and makes you happy that’s all that matters

Re: Review: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl - A Middling Pair Of Remakes

wolvesboy

@somebread yes I meant new to writing for NintendoLife, he may have had previous experience elsewhere and he may be absolutely awesome at his job, but to score a game from an extremely popular franchise and then to score it like he has because he didn’t like how it looks is a bit if an odd one

Games are meant to be enjoyable, fun, yes some are prettier than others but you could have the best looking game in the world but if it plays terribly then it would make no use

And plus what if this game gets any post launch content?

Look at how many people complained about Animal crossing missing content when it first released

Re: Review: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl - A Middling Pair Of Remakes

wolvesboy

Right firstly before anyone says that I don’t understand how bad some Pokemon games are well I still own Pokemon channel

That being said this reviewer is extremely new, he only joined at the end of last month

It feels like all he has done is mark the game based on what he finds negative and the first impressions he would’ve seen he didn’t like and it’s stuck with him

I have had my preorder for this back when it was announced as I love the art style as it’s like my DS which I played loads, in fact I did a journey from Wolverhampton to Norwich to get Darkrai as a Woolworths in Stoke had let me down, Nintendo sent me some cards to apologise

Anyway I think treat this review with your wallet, if you don’t like it then don’t buy it, this score is that of the experience that this certain newbie reviewer had got and his experience wasn’t great

If you are on the fence then it’s worth a purchase or if you know someone then watch them play it

Yes the Exp share being on all the time is rough but does the reviewer of Lets go tell us that if we had a Pokeball plus we could max out our partners stats within a few days just for going out with it?

Oh and then there’s sword and shield, I love them but I wasn’t a fan of the overpowered candies where you could max out levels very easily

Finally this is a game based on the love people had for the original

Would people seriously complain about Mario 3D all stars because those games are the exact same with anew lock of paint

Re: Review: Super Mario All-Stars - All That Glitters Isn't Necessarily Gold

wolvesboy

At the time this released it was the must have game! I understand to some younger gamers that this may seem wrong, I however think 7/10 is an insult. Mags at the time raved about not having to pay £90+ for all 3 and lost levels was not released outside Japan until this point and the price of this is FREE!? I’m very disappointed. How old is the reviewer? Is he going to destroy the 3D all stars when it drops too?

Also note this actually cost money when it landed in Wii 5 years ago

Re: Someone Created A Hand-Drawn Guide For The Original Zelda And It's Breathtaking

wolvesboy

@Damo no not at all, I just thought the title was a little misleading which is a first as I’ve always watched constant nlife videos and thought the title wasn’t greatly put over.

Don’t get me wrong the book looks great and all but should’ve actually said the video was about the book not to say the title that they went for which could’ve been taken as a workaround to play the NES Zelda in the 21st century, I mean he even shows the original cart

Re: Someone Created A Hand-Drawn Guide For The Original Zelda And It's Breathtaking

wolvesboy

Gotta say it, when I saw the video on YouTube a few days back I thought

Cool a video about improving my NES Zelda fir the 21st century

I expected a whole video about getting the most out of the original hardware

What I got was an advert to purchase a book which I didn’t need back then nor do I need it now.

With my time wasted I couldn’t believe Nlife were playing add a click bait title to get more views 😔

Re: Wonderful 101 Kickstarter Backers Hit With Customs Charges And Handling Fees

wolvesboy

Right I’m starting to have enough if Kickstarter now as I’ve had issues in one way or another for example

Yooja Laylee, upgrade people on other platforms to physical version but Switch gamers got gold to rebut the game ON TOP of the pledge they already made if they want physical

Yooka Laylee socks came a lot later than stated I was supposed to have 2 pairs due to the delay and I got ONE

Revival Survival still waiting

W101 remastered is possibly going to be final time supporting stuff on KS

Re: UK Retailers Guilty Of Inflating Nintendo Switch Prices As Stock Remains Elusive

wolvesboy

I used to be a very loyal game customer

I even went to gamefest and was in their stores every week until they did two things

Sold me the 3ds at extremely inflated price, I think I paid £250 with piloteongs resort and the 3ds at the midnight launch

Imagine my horror when my fiancée went to a supermarket and paid almost £100 less!

Then the last game I ever purchased was Pokemon Y, first they didn’t tell me the game stopped early until I got to the store and then charged me £40 when the online price on their site was £35

even after that they said my fiancée who is in a wheelchair in store did not class as paying customer and wasn’t eligible for the offer!
