As part of Nintendo's ongoing Super Mario 35th Anniversary celebrations, a small selection of Mario hits are currently reduced on the Nintendo Switch eShop in Europe.
As you'll likely be aware, it's not all that often that Nintendo-published games get discounted, so if you're still to pick up any of the three titles below, now is definitely the time to strike. There's something for everyone, too, with classic platforming, sports and multiplayer fun all available:
Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary Sale
Game Title | Saving | Until |

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (Nintendo) | -33% | Sun 1st Nov |
Super Mario Party (Nintendo) | -33% | Sun 1st Nov |

As you can see, these discounts will remain live until 1st November. Make sure to hunt them down on the eShop and purchase them by that date if you're hoping to get them at these reduced prices.

I wanted to like Super Mario Party. No, I do like it. It's just that there isn't much there to like. It's such a small game you can play all the boards in a couple hours.
It really seemed like Nintendo planned DLC for the game but that never happened.
Just grabbed NSMBUD recently and I do understand a lot of people complain it doesnt do enough new things... But I love it and I think its the most polished 2D Mario game ever and my favorite. Replaying the older ones on NSO has been interesting but for a newcomer like me who doesnt have tons of nostalgia I think this newer game is perfect.
@Heavyarms55 Totally agree. Mario Party is a great game. But after nearly 2 years is a bit stale. Still good as a pick up and play for a hour with the kids but that’s about it. I will gladly pay for a new DLC set of boards and mini games. Same goes with Mario Kart, new tracks would be fab.
I have the three games already
@Heavyarms55 This with Pokemon Sword and Shield are the biggest let downs in my opinion on the Switch.
Sorry, I'm saving my money for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
@Yenkman It's even fun with friends or family... but only for one or two sessions then you've done it all. I agree, I would happily buy a dlc with more boards and playable characters. It's real fun, there just isn't much of that fun.
@Smokingisbad On that we very much disagree. Pokemon SWSH has been fantastic. I've put over 475 hours into it and am still eagerly awaiting the Crown Tundra releasing tonight.
@Heavyarms55 My playtime on Super Mario Party is at 40 hours, racked up since last summer. We treat it as any other board game, fun to play every now and again, and plays differently each time due to how each player's dice falls. Agreed that as a single-player title it's got limited appeal. Still enjoy it each time we play for the above reason.
Why was i thinking that mario odysee would be one of them hahaha.
Wow! Nintendo is giving 33 % off on an 8 year old game? Truly amazing. On a completely unrelated note, I bought the 2012 game Far Cry 3 on PS4 for $3.
Problem is because they are so expensive in the first place, they don't really represent a good deal even with a third off
@JohnnyC Oh I don't mean as a single player game, I mean as a party game. What we got was good, but we didn't get much of it. I wouldn't want more if I didn't like it.
@dil_power I enjoyed NSMB initially but then I played Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and Sonic Mania and I have to say both platformers blew it out of the water in terms of (single player) gameplay, level design, music and sheer character... They made NSMB feel generic and bland in comparison and I've no desire to go back to it... In 4 player I think it would have more appeal but that's less of an option since Covid!
Maybe a Christian Whitehead or Retro Studios 2D Mario would be amazing?!
As for the other games in the sale I've always preferred Mario Golf to Tennis and I refuse to buy a Mario Party that has less content than the N64 games so it's a pass from me this sale. If Mario Maker were included I'd pick that up.
Nintendo switch is mario machine

Well that was a little underwhelming. Three Major releases does not include Mario Party and Mario Tennis, those are side show attractions.
@Agriculture Too true. I get they want to keep value and all but sheesh.
On another note, why not 35% off for the 35th Anniversary?
Isn't it a great time to be flat-f#@king-broke? I just wish this kind of discounts happened closer to Christmas, when at least I can ask my parents for help.
Whatever, my definitive version for NSMBU will wait a few months more.
@1UP_MARIO Nice. Was thinking recently it's mad that in February the Switch will have FIVE 3D Mario games on it!
"Major Mario games"
"NSMBUDX"
Sure
Tempted by Tennis Aces... Mario Party I got in January and definitely got my money's worth out of it (agree it needs DLC though!)
No Mario Maker 2 is surprising. Its sad seeing the lesser U Deluxe getting the spotlight over it so often
@Clyde_Radcliffe I’m hoping they add galaxy 2
@Agriculture I bought far cry 4 gold 3 years ago for 20 bucks. Those games fall in price almost as fast as Assassin's Creed. I love far cry just saying...
Toys r us in Canada has splatoon, tennis and nsmb for $50ca at the moment.
So is the special edition co I got to the UK?

@DrJoson This comment should be on a billboard. So many of the thoughtless comments about game development one reads here and there ("they've had 2 years to make MP4! How much longer?!") make me wonder if enough people have tried Mario Maker. I think most people can make 2-3 decent courses... now try making 100 or so at high quality. Mario Maker was an eye-opener for me.
The usual bargain bin titles...
@DrJoson
For real. Mario Maker 2 is a real gem.
@COVIDberry
Definitely. It’s on my top 5 favorite Mario games ever. I put it up there with Mario 3. And I basically worship Mario 3.
@1UP_MARIO you're missing one
@panthro Mario & sonic
Im interested in Mario Party, but as a joycon only affair, thats a pass for me at most discount prices.
Ive only used the joycons for snipperclips untill they patched in Pro controller support, They (joycons) have been in the box ever since. (Using Pro Controller mostly & Hori split pad pro for portable)
NSMBU is definitely worth it for Super Luigi U alone, it’s such an underrated game IMHO. Sadly it was even better on the Wii U because it used Miiverse to track your “Super Plays”- i.e. beat a level in under 50 seconds, don’t take a hit and collect all three large gold coins.
@1UP_MARIO I wasn't thinking of that - Luigi's Mansion 3
@panthro if I put luigis mansion 3 then I’d have to put captain toad and yoshi from the mushroom kingdom
For anybody who gets New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe and doesn't like that spinning is mapped to the jump button, you can disable it by pushing in the left stick for 3 seconds on the title screen and then pressing A or L+R. Don't know if it's common knowledge or not, but I only found out last week... If you do it right, you'll hear Nabbit make a sound.
@Agriculture Sounds about right for Nintendo. The fan boys say "But the games keep their value". they dont legitimately keep their value. Nintendo just forces the value to stay high which inflates the value. The fact that Pikmin 3 and Mario 3d World is full price is absolutely insane for how little work they did.
Jeremy Parish ranked NSMBU as the #1 Super Mario Game...and I agreed with that
@earthinheritor "The fact that Pikmin 3 and Mario 3d World is full price is absolutely insane for how little work they did"
Have you played the Switch version of Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury then?
@Clyde_Radcliffe Of course not. But when you consider we had games like Spyro that was a trilogy of games made from the ground up with entirly re done graphics and audio. Where they had to design a piece of software to make it. Yet its launch price was lower than this. And all they did was give it some extra levels.
I love all systems I have them all. But pretending that Nintendo pricing isn't a problem is just closing your eyes.
@Agriculture I want NSMBUD bc I never got Luigi. But I don't want to pay $40 for it. $20? Sure.
@earthinheritor Exactly. I've paid $620 for my physical Switch collection (I counted), but I wouldn't even get a fraction of that money if I sold the collection. Maybe I'd get $200 if some of the games became impossible to buy. If people just removed their rose tinted glasses, they would see that gaming on Switch is just much more expensive than the other consoles.
How about you tell us the price of these games? Just putting the % off is stupid!!
@tatchy Aces is pretty fun... Recommended for sure.
@rockodoodle Aces is cheaper than this physical from Asda atm
@carlos82 they are digital and its such a scam. I got botw zelda for 40 pounds new physical and its a joke the e shop charges!
@andyg1412 2 year ago haha
@Clyde_Radcliffe I have tried Donkey Kong and although I will probably buy at some point the difficulty was a little steep for the kind of gamer I am... I also like the visual simplicity of NSMBUD where it's easier to see what is going on vs the amazing but crowded screen on DKTF. I liked Rayman Legends better than DK though because I felt it was just as pretty if not more and more accessible.
@dil_power I liked it too and 100 percented it and the included Luigi U game. I enjoyed the original Super Mario Bros Wii more though and wished they had brought that over too.
@Clyde_Radcliffe oh my goodness I would ADORE a new Mario Golf for the Switch!
Hmm, a batch of pretty good but not overly amazing games.
In general, anyway. I’m sure they are somebodies favourite game, but for the most part, nothing overly special, but still a good time
@1UP_MARIO but you've put smash in
@panthro I’m sorry 😉
Shame Mario Maker 2 isn’t discounted for those yet to purchase it. That game is in my top 3 mario games of all time. Endless entertainment and never gets old.
@Jacobpower buy again to support Nintendo
"Prize Reduction" , those prices are too high.
Bought Mario Bros U with the Luigi DLC for the Wii U for 18€ on Amazon back than.
They're all decent or good , to be fair
