Re: Nintendo Switch Successor Chip Rumours Are Doing The Rounds Again

wayneyrob22

@Jalex_64 Nintendo create consoles for their franchises not anybody else's, power is irrelevant, creation imagination and interaction is the main thing, I look at lifetime sales of consoles and still the PlayStation 2 is the leader...but internet and mobile phones were limited then, if the Nintendo Swittch was out then well...anyway onwards and upwards!!!

Re: Developer Survey Reveals Worrying Lack Of Interest In Nintendo Switch

wayneyrob22

To be honest Nintendo make their own games and their stance by their own admission is this is our hardware it's up to you weather you want to develop for it, third partys really are much of a muchness that Microsoft an particularly Sony really need because if you look they don't have a lot by themselves, look at the wii u a console other than launch titles is Nintendo and not one of them is a stinker and the wii u will still look good in ten years time same as the Gamecube does, sometimes i think people that work in the media are thick, i have a ps4 and the wii u in terms of games in my book beats it easily it's just not meant to be a commercial hype machine, the Switch on the other hand?

Re: Poll: A Week On, How Do You Feel About the Nintendo Switch?

wayneyrob22

I could have pre ordered on Amazon prime but didn't bother, they have now sold out, the launch titles other than Breath of Wild does not instantly make me wanna buy a Switch but titles that are coming out later in the year will, the console itself looks state of the art as you'd expect from Nintendo and sure to be a big seller..happy gaming!

Re: 3DS to Continue as a 'Major Pillar' of Nintendo's Business

wayneyrob22

Nintendo should beware as the launch of the 3ds told them, I know the 3ds is in front as far as sales are but the wii u as a home console does not have a selling point good as it is, Nintendo need to think about other people sometimes, we know Nintendo are good but they need to say that ea know how to make football for instance. .

Re: 3DS to Continue as a 'Major Pillar' of Nintendo's Business

wayneyrob22

Me personally if I was boss of Nintendo would not be bothered by my own sales but looking at how competitor's have creeped up over the last generation and how Sony seems to be making steady progression into Nintendo 's hand held market, Nintendo of course are going mobile with deNa but you got to look at what stronghold Nintendo had and the fact that Sony are getting in there, we know Nintendo are good at innovating but there is only so much you can create, it looks like Nintendo maybe on a linking connectivity media trip if you ask me..let's wait and see cause I don't see anybody putting the wii u game pad on the floor fir a round of golf..ea maybe would have been an idea but alas we left with zelda hd

Re: Editorial: Considering the Recipe For Successful Nintendo Remasters and Re-Releases

wayneyrob22

I don't have an issue with remasters I mean most on the wii u have been very good but the wii u lacks diversity, Nintendo may have decided to go it alone who knows but the catalogue of recent games are all around the big Nintendo characters starfox pokemon zelda which in Japan will do well but here we like these games but like blockbuster movie tie ins and football, even a round of golf, many company's I guess are not willing to put as much time into a game to make it a wii u title that plays different to others because of a 13 million user Base and porting is not really a choice due to the architecture of the console, I guess Nintendo need to think about the whole developers needs and how they port to other consoles to help their sales and more importantly profits before they bring a new console out otherwise they could go the Sega way and end up developing for everybody else rather than having all these exclusives.

Re: Wii U Sales Show Promising Growth Courtesy of Splatoon and Super Mario Maker Success

wayneyrob22

I think I said way back last year that the wii u had not finished yet and looking across all platforms it's not done as bad as the media suggests I mean ps4 had all the advertising in the world and stands at around 36 million which is far behind what any of the last generations of consoles sold, wii u after a very dodgy launch has had more updates than Mario maker has courses but in the end has turned out to be a very versatile stable console with an impressive line up of games, those who don't like Nintendo just won't like it though because I reckon the wii u is more Nintendo than Nintendo.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2016

wayneyrob22

Zelda wii u takes the vote but it's unlikely to see the light of day on wii u so that's the reason I gone for pokken tournement, twilight princess another on my list but I can't help feeling now that the wii u is saying goodbye even though sales over Xmas in Japan are encouraging but it has the wrong games for Europe and America.

Re: Nintendo NX Doesn't Need To Compete With PlayStation 4 And Xbox One To Be A Success, Claims Analyst

wayneyrob22

Nintendo do their own thing and have made this clear since the game cube days, big difference now is Nintendo seem to be pulling away from delivering consoles about the same time as Microsoft and sony, is the wii u a wii gen late or is the nx a ps4 gen late, who knows because neither are anything like it's competitors, they are making good games and money to boot, in my opinion that's the main thing, if they start running out of ideas and exclusive colaborations then they will be in trouble, but the wii u shows if anything that they don't need third party support to have a great catalogue of games and let's face it third party although can bring blockbuster movie tie ins they can also bring a lot of dross, the only thing I think the wii u is missing is football and a lack of racing/rally/simulation.

Re: NX Won't Be The Next Version Of Wii Or Wii U, Says Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima

wayneyrob22

I personally don't think it's been a failure, given the lack of third party support and advertising then ten million in this day and age is not bad, the game cube was similar but had much more third party support and over let's say a five year lifespan sold what 20 million, the wii u is three years old and is still right up there in my opinion and is proving that Nintendo is probably the best if not the best software developer out there with tight colaborations with Namco and the like, well done Nintendo that's what I say.

Re: Timing Of NX Launch Could Help Nintendo Grab Some Of Sony And Microsoft's Market Share, Says Analyst

wayneyrob22

First things first, these market predictors said the wii would be a flop, second I hardly think the wii u has been advertised, I mean every time an ad break comes on TV it's ps4/xbox one and also last gen games are still selling pretty well so all in all its a bit of a mash up, nobody can say what Nintendo are up to until they release, but as always they make things interesting by not giving a f**k about anybody else.

Re: Editorial: A Wii U Price Cut is Still Worthwhile Despite Its Ongoing Woes

wayneyrob22

@DrkBndr an example is if you go to the BBC website for instance weather it will not play video as it will ask for flash, open another tab and go into settings-user agent and set to ipad, go back to weather tab and reload and voala it will now play video, this also works with iplayer and any other video on BBC website, for instance I watched Glastonbury on my Wii u this way, vevo worked only this way but now works with Wii u agent but for some reason is not in hd anymore and you have to click the icon everytime you play a video, it is impossible to factory reset the Wii u but trust me it's performance is much better after updates, yes html5 is an issue but is true for other formats too depending on the website you use.

Re: Editorial: A Wii U Price Cut is Still Worthwhile Despite Its Ongoing Woes

wayneyrob22

I think one problem with the Wii u is that it's took three years of system updates to give a stable impressive system, the browser in the first place was useless needing flash players everywhere and some sites such as tv catchup would break up and be less than 480p visuals, these problems have improved vastly with hd display on many sites and you can use user agent to log in through different streams, Netflix is now up to date and we got BBC I player, Amazon prime doesn't even get mentioned for WII u on ads but is Deffo there.

Other than that I don't think Nintendo are two bothered as their handheld is their main focus as it always has been, as far as home consoles are concerned they say this is our console..we make games and it's up to you weather you want to, as far as third party is concerned many won't bother because they would have to create a game separately from ps4/xbox one rather than just do a port and add a few extra features for game pad, if you notice many early Wii u games were ports of last gen games, so basically nothing will change unless Wii u all of a sudden sells another 10-15 million consoles and then developers can make their money on the console.

To end the Wii u has some of the best games ever made and as a console has everything that I personally need, the price taking into account you will need a hard drive (i paid £75 for 2t)then it's not really a budget choice, but was it meant to be?

Re: Review: Devil's Third (Wii U)

wayneyrob22

I got to be honest first impression was ps2 game with beefed up effects, hand to hand with knifes ect seems to be more of what the game is about with guns being second fiddle, I played it on my 3d in normal mode at first then I started it again in 2d to 3d mode and all of a sudden the graphics seem more up to date, anybody else found this? As for glitches I can't really say I've noticed so far although I not played it too much at the moment.

Re: Netflix Update Goes Live on Wii U

wayneyrob22

Somebody mentioned other controllers you should be able to use like amazon prime, I agree but I suppose it must be something to do with the software and is it super hd it does state that but if you want super hd your supposed to pay Netflix more, anyway it looks a lot smoother on screen the last layout looked dated and scrolled like you was stood across the road with the gamepad.

Re: Splatoon Splats Top 10 NPD Position in June as Hardware Momentum Stays Positive

wayneyrob22

@Dezzy the announcement of nx was supposed to quash rumours that nintendo was leaving the home hardware market, I don't think the wii u is finished yet but everybody as usual puts one and one together and comes up with five, fast racing neo, xenoblade chronicles and a couple of other wii u xclusives coming up before end of year and all will be quality, some want to see blockbuster names but what's the point when the other two are churning them out, tech these days is very much a much of a muchness, it's about the games.

Re: Splatoon Splats Top 10 NPD Position in June as Hardware Momentum Stays Positive

wayneyrob22

I don't know why everybody disects nintendo 's sales so much, I always seem to find that the handheld is possibly commercially where they concentrate most and home consoles tend to take a back seat, other than the wii but in my opinion that was a plan since gamecube launch by nintendo considering Sony had taken a big piece of the pie and now bill was after putting some gravy on his, so again genius marketing by nintendo and hey we are still playing on their games.

Re: Feature: What NEC And Hudson Did Next: The Disasterous Story Of The PC-FX

wayneyrob22

it states that nintendo was caught with their pants down, no they was not, if you remember their was a brief alliance with sony in the snes days and nintendo pulled out due to how can we put it publishing royalty rights ect, my guess is nintendo stuck to quality as they knew the size of sony and knew that nintendo's own software would shine through at the end of the day, just look at what nintendo did with the wii, play a playstation game today and compare to the n64 and you will see and feel what i mean, nintendo...class!

Re: Digital Foundry Gives Its Take on Watch Dogs for Wii U

wayneyrob22

i've got to be honest this framerate problem on the wii u i only noticed once, i don't know weather it's because of the tv that i'm playing it on but i only noticed slowdown at the beggining of chapter 2, what i was more concerned with is that i could not be bothered going any further and felt i would buy it again at a lower price.
Another problem is some of the glitchy last generation looking cut scenes, many time the actual game playing looks much better, for all the hype talk and wait about this game, the only thing we have is a glitchy true crimegrand theft auto clone that starts to become repetative, the story line goes, a badman is giving his sister bad telephone calls so this badman is going to find this man, wow this guy should be a soap writer.
Overall from what i've played it's not a bad game, but after playing some of the class offerings from nintendo itself it pales into insignificance.

Re: I'll Take Zelda And Mario Over Sharing Call Of Duty With Sony And Microsoft, Says Reggie Fils-Aime

wayneyrob22

Commercially I think some are missing the point of the Wii u, it's different, to just port a game onto the Wii u would just be lazy as there is another screen to consider, games can be boring trust me I can play on many consoles and put the pad down because I just feel(and it don't matter how good the graphics are)that there is no interaction between me and the game...just pressing buttons really but with nintendo you generally get this and if you don't your trading in, simple as that really.

Re: Online Retailers Offer Huge Discounts on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Hardware Bundles in the UK

wayneyrob22

the writer touches on 8gig and 32 gig, he is right you do need a hard drive i got a 32 gig and most games are like 16 gig in size, plus you got game saves and netflix and the like so just one download game unlwss you buy the indie games or retro, so i think it's probably more about colour, black or white? what about a silver version nintendo, knowing them they will bring a red one with a pink game pad lol
