Get 'em while they're hot

Retail giant Toys 'R' Us has revealed that it will be getting more stock of the NES Classic Edition in its North American stores this Sunday.

The console has been incredibly hard to find all over the globe, with demand far outstripping supply. Nintendo has stated previously that a steady flow of machines is expected all the way up to Christmas, but Toys 'R' Us is clearly of the mindset that this next shipment is going to go fast.

Speaking to CNBC, a Toys 'R' Us spokesperson said:

On Sunday, we're launching our Great Big Christmas Sale (Dec. 4 thru 10) and the catalog, which is arriving in homes in the coming days, features Hatchimals and NES. Our stores are receiving shipments of both holiday must-haves to support and we expect that when stores open at 8 a.m., they will sell very quickly.

It's not known if other big US retailers will be getting fresh stock. When asked for comment by CNBC, a Target spokesperson said:

Target is actively working to meet guest demand, and will continue to replenish inventory throughout the season.
