Re: Talking Point: Are There Too Many Harvest Moon-Likes On The Market?

Since playing Stardew, I haven't purchased another farming sim. I've eyed a few that have come out since then, but I haven't purchased them. If farming sims are your absolute favorite genre, then no, there aren't too many. For now I am content with Stardew Valley. A major new aspect of gameplay would have to be present for me to consider purchasing another upcoming farm sim at this point. I feel like a lot of them do follow the same formula, more or less.

Haven't finished the Link's Awakening Remaster or Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles. . .yet. Haven't touched them in months, don't feel bad about it.

I've started books and movies that I didn't end up caring for. With as many books, games, and movies as there are in the world, it seems silly to slog through them if you aren't enjoying them.

Re: Nintendo Shares Release Schedule For 2021 And Beyond, And It's Looking Pretty Bare

Like others, I am assuming that COVID impacted release schedules for most (if not all) gaming companies. If it is a slow year for Nintendo, then it will be a good year to work on one's backlog (assuming you have one. . .I most certainly do). Nintendo may not have clear release dates for unlisted titles until said titles are closer to completion. It's only just February 1st. I for one am not concerned.

Re: Soapbox: Grinding Is Poor Gameplay Design That Doesn’t Respect Your Time

There was a time when I didn't mind grinding at all (like when I was a kid). Now life is too busy for that. It's probably why I don't play as many RPGs as I used to. I don't mind battling enemies on my way to the next destination in a game. If I have to grind though, my interest fizzles pretty quickly. This is why I am thankful for casual play modes becoming more common.
