Zelda breath of the wild 2

As it always does when a new financial report is due, Nintendo has published an updated look at its upcoming release schedule. As you might expect, though, things aren't quite as exciting as they could be.

Below, you'll find a list of Nintendo's major releases planned for 2021 and beyond (so not including third-party releases). It's a pretty bare-bones schedule, but delays and development issues are to be expected right now what with the pandemic raging on as strong as ever, and we're sure there are plenty of new titles being worked on behind the scenes.

Launch Schedule of Primary Nintendo Products by Region (extracts: Jan. 2021~)

The United States / Europe (correct as of February 2021)

Japan (correct as of February 2021)

  • Buddy Mission BOND - 29th Jan, 2021
  • Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury - 12th Feb, 2021
  • New Pokémon Snap - 30th April, 2021
  • Famicom Tentei Club: Kieta Koukeisha and Ushiro ni Tatsu Shoujo - 2021
  • Bayonetta 3 - TBA
  • Metroid Prime 4 (temp.) - TBA
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel (temp.) - TBA

As you can see, only three Nintendo-published titles have been confirmed for 2021 so far, with three more games still listed as 'TBA'.

Of course, more news on Bayonetta 3 is expected to arrive this year, and we're hopeful that the new Zelda and Metroid titles might start to surface, too – we wouldn't bet against a Holiday 2021 launch for the new Breath of the Wild, but perhaps that's just wishful thinking.

Which of these games are you looking forward to the most, and which of those 'TBA' titles are you most desperate to see more of? Let us know in the comments.
