The 3DS is easily one of the greatest handheld systems Nintendo has ever released, but admittedly it was overshadowed in its later years when the Switch arrived on the scene and games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild became top priority.
Our Kong-loving video producer Jon Cartright has taken the time to round up the best games you might have missed because you were playing the Switch. So, 3DS games from 2017 onwards - just to be clear. For your own convenience, we've also rounded them up into a concise list, and there are even review links if you want to find out more about each one. Enjoy!

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

Metroid: Samus Returns

WarioWare Gold

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia

Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth

Etrian Odyssey Nexus

Detective Pikachu

Monster Hunter Stories

Ever Oasis

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

What do you think of the above round-up? What other great (and late) games were released on the 3DS? Leave a comment down below.

Does captain toad count since it is on Switch?
That being said. Ever Oasis and Fantasy Life. You owe it to yourself to play them.
@Ryu_Niiyama and WiiU.... How about replace with Kirby Robobot...
I was expecting Luigi’s Mansion to be on the lost too along with Kirby’s Epic Yarn.
Captain Toad is on Switch and thus hasn't really been overshadowed.
@Ryu_Niiyama I keep meaning to play Ever Oasis, but the Switch spoiled me into wanting to play all my games on my TV. I even pre-ordered an Analogue Pocket because it will let me do that with my GBA games, which I would otherwise have abandoned entirely by now. Someday, I swear. Someday.
Dillon's Dead Heat Breakers 3DS.

NOBODY here have ever talked about this game but me.
NOBODY but me.
Fire Emblem Echoes is a great game. I think it is much better than Birthright and Conquest. Also, I still have not played a Dragon Quest game (besides the demo for 11S) and may just try out 8.
I just got etrian odyssey nexus the other day but still haven’t played it since I’m trying to beat other games first. I’m actually playing through monster hunter stories right now to prepare for the sequel to be released. Other than that, I would love to play ever oasis someday and I have played detective pikachu and metroid samus returns. The rest of the games I don’t care too much about.
I totally forgot Etrian Odyssey Nexus existed and I actually like the series. I’m not sure how it passed me by.
I still play my 3ds daily on my lunch break at work lol
Get them while they're still in print and cheap! Especially the Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest and Atlus games.
I'd just like to mention Shinobi on 3DS. If you're a fan of the genesis games you gotta check this one out! The music is awesome, It's got a great combat system and sweet anime style cutscenes! it feels like a love letter to fans of revenge of Shinobi and Shinobi 3 in particular. Almost nobody played it and the ones who passed usually blamed the graphics. It does look a bit like a DS game but don't judge it on looks. It's really good!
This is a solid list, I'd just replace Captain Toad with another title since it's playable on Switch (though the 3DS port is good).
If I had to add another title, I'd go with Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn. Just a solid port of a great title with a few extra bells and whistles. The same goes for Luigi's Mansion. A bit of a shame these got lost in the Switch hype, but I feel like they considered some easy ways of padding out the 3DS release schedule since production was winding down.
@Ryu_Niiyama Every single time I try to go back to playing either of those, they immediately start eating up weeks of my time.
Persona Q2 was such a great way for the 3DS to go out. Such an improvement over Q1 and I actually didn't expect to love the Persona 3 Portable female protagonist's inclusion and how her arc tied into the themes of the plot as much as I did
It's weird to me that Nintendo port so many Wii U games to the Switch but zero 3DS games. Even if they don't look as good, there are quite a few 3DS games I'd like to play on Switch
Ever Oasis is still my favorite 3DS game! I still play it from time to time (along with Fantasy Life). Need to finish FE Echoes and start EO Nexus sometime.
Does VC count? I still play FE The Sacred Stones every nownthen, Minish Cap to a lesser extent.
I would like to add Miitopia and Yo-kai Watch 3.
Cpt Toad is fine on 3DS, but is available on Switch so its inclusion on this list makes no sense.
Every other amazing game I can think of came out before 2017 or the franchise is represented on Switch currently.
@Isaix
Is not weird at all considering it would require a lot of work to get rid of second screen for many games
@rockodoodle
It would have to be a game that came out 2017+ to replace
@jamesthemagi
Yokai Watch 3 USA and PAL are like NOWHERE to be founded on Ebay. 😫
I have Yokai Watch 3 Tempura with very cheap price but it was Japan version.
I can read some Japanese letters but will not really get motivated to play through All Japanese texts for RPG games.
Despite Switch hype destroying the sales potential for a lot of these final 3DS games, the system really did go out strong. One of the best handheld libraries of all time. And, sadly, the death of the 3DS was the end of an era, because it's probably the last time we'll get a dedicated handheld with a totally unique library of games.
@Anti-Matter Yokai Watch 3 had such a tiny print run that it effectively vanished from the market a week or two after launch, lol.
@Moonlessky
Its portability is unbeatable
@Anti-Matter
Yeah that sucks!
Hopefully it will spring up
I really enjoyed it
Picked up on release as I figured 3DS was on its way out and would die soon
Good luck!
@Anti-Matter I Did.
@Isaix There are a few DS/3DS ports/sequels on Switch, just nowhere near as many as the Wii U ports. TWEWY, Rune Factory 4, Alliance Alive, Monster Hunter Generations, Resident Evil Revelations, The Phoenix Wright Trilogy, Super Kirby Clash, Kirby Fighters 2. I probably missed some. It'd be cool to see some 3DS games come to Switch like the FE games, SMT, Bravely Default, Kid Icarus Uprising, Metroid: Samus Returns, etc.
@Ralizah
With mobile games taking over, handhelds were fighting a loosing battle
I myself much prefer physical controls, but people enjoy the convenience of loading up games on their phones
The Switch really was a genius idea
It was the only way to save handhelds
Oh and I might be alone on this one but I think Samus returns is better than that AM2R or whatever it's called remake/rippoff that everyone acts like is so great. There I said it!
@Quarth Pretty sure Dragon Quest 8 is already at scalper prices now, unfortunately.
@Ralizah
The closest version with USA / PAL version was Sukiyaki, right ?
I don't really mind if i have to play through all Japanese texts since other Yokai Watch games on 3DS also didn't get English release (Sangokushi, Buster 2) but i still prefer to read English texts.
I already have Yokai Watch 3 Tempura, really great opportunity to try Yokai Watch 3 despite Japanese version, but i wonder if i will keep get motivated to continue the game as i have to depend on video walkthrough by AbdallahSmash as he played the Japanese version with some translation by speaking.
@Kirbo100
If they can figure out how to rework the UI of some games I would love to have 3DS games on Switch
Loved Bravely Default (just hated how the mid-end was handled)
Also agree on the FE and SMT
As cheesy as it was, I enjoyed Conception 2
Kirby Planet Robobot which is way better than Star Allies
A sequel to Tomodachi Life
Prof Layton series
Stella Glow will never happen
Ever Oasis!
So great! I've been playing it a lot of late. I've called it the last great game of the 3ds.
I stopped playing it because I was hoping for a switch port. With no port I drive back in. Great game!
@Snatcher
You have Dillon's Dead Heat Breakers 3DS ? 😀
How was your progress ?
I have both physical (PAL) and digital (USA) but currently i stopped playing for long time after i was upset due to my Dillon died when fought against Final form Grock. It wasn't even the final boss, still at the place where i have to connect the bridges.
@jamesthemagi I've heard this talking point before, but, frankly, it makes no sense to me. The 3DS sold around 75 million units or so (which means it hugely outsold all of Ninty's home consoles prior to the Wii) and helped to carry Nintendo through the disaster that was the Wii U. Nintendo handhelds ALWAYS sell well. Hell, even the PSP sold well. There is a massive market out there for portable gaming tech.
The Switch is the way it is because Nintendo wanted to save their place in the home console market by leveraging their popularity as a manufacturer of portable gaming technology.
Honorable mention: Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers.
EDIT: Also Jake Hunter Detective Story: Ghost of the Dusk, but then, that franchise has always been pretty under-the-radar in America. The DS game getting two separate publications , Detective Chronicles (the bad one) and Detective Story: Memories of the Past (the one you actually want), probably didn't help matters.
Samus Returns and Shadows of Valentia are just fantastic. Funny how they're both remakes of the second game in their respective series.
@Anti-Matter I also love Dillon's games and want him to get a Switch game or ports of the 3DS games on Switch. Also wish he'd been a full fighter in Smash instead of an assist trophy.
Nothing stopping anyone from playing any of these. But there's only so many hours in the day. Lol
Still kinda wish Atlus remastered this game for Switch before they married Sega.
And while we are on the topic of other consoles let me do some more port begging
Earthbound
FF4, FF6, FFT
Chrono Trigger
DQ 4-9
FE6-10, Awakening
SMT IV
LoZ: Oracle of Ages/Seasons
Kingdom Hearts: The Story so Far
P3-5
Tomodachi Life sequel
Yu-Gi-Oh Falsebound Kingdom
DS Castlevanias
Golden Sun reboot
Magical Starsign
M&L
Prof Layton
Suikoden
Disgaea 2, 3 D2
Yo-kai Watch
Kirby Planet Robobot
Stella Glow
Killer Instinct, E.V.O, Actraiser, Terranigma, Zombies Ate my Neighbors
@Ralizah
Mobile gaming has taken over so much of the market in the past few years
I am all for Nintendo (or anyone else really) to continue making quality handhelds.
The industry is unfortunately moving away from this though
Even Nintendo has entered the mobile gaming market
@Anti-Matter the Dillon franchise is fantastic! More people need to play those games for sure.
@jamesthemagi Mobile definitely limited the 'blue ocean' appeal that made something like the NDS so wildly successful, but it didn't really lessen the demand for portable gaming technology from the consumer base who has been reliably buying gaming tech for decades now. As evidenced by the still highly successful Nintendo 3DS and, arguably, by the Nintendo Switch itself.
Although, it's interesting, because, despite all of the competition in the mobile gaming space in the 90s, it really was a monopoly on Nintendo's part until the PSP, and that appears to have been a one-off success on Sony's part. Once the Vita floundered due to their mismanagement of it, they ditched the whole dedicated handheld thing entirely to focus on home consoles.
Nintendo was at a similar crossroads with their long-floundering home console business, which, Wii aside, had been suffering for generations. Instead of going full handheld and just ceding a massive portion of the market to Sony, they made the brilliant choice to combine their development resources and target multiple portions of the market simultaneously with their innovative hybrid console design (it's not unheard of, as Sega tried something extremely similar with the Nomad, but only Nintendo was uniquely positioned to successfully pull off this approach).
While it's sad that dedicated handhelds with unique libraries will likely remain a thing of the past, we now have hybrids and dedicated handhelds that can run home console-scale games. It's a very different and new approach.
If the success of the Switch attests to anything, IMO, it's that handheld gaming will be here to stay for the long run.
@Anti-Matter i love that game omg, im really glad it got the chance for a retail release and expanded on more stuff. even if the game was easier than the others, and grinding for star ranks is still a chore
@jamesthemagi It can't be that hard for most 3DS games I imagine, at least for the games I want ported. I haven't played much of the 3DS, but the second screen is often used for maps like in A Link Between Worlds, Samus Returns, Bravely Default and Second. Of course alterations will have to be done for all the touch controls and stuff, but it can be done, it's been done already
Heck all those Wii U games that were ported to Switch also had dual screen, so it's clearly not an issue
@Anti-Matter I played though the game twice I'm not to sure I 100% it But I'm pretty sure I did.
@isaix @jamesthemagi. It wouldn’t be that difficult at all. I play 3DS games through citra on my handheld GPD Win Max and also through my emulation laptop through my TV.
I scale them up to 2x or 3x resolution and have the option of how, to arrange the screens in any configuration I want. I choose the main screen to take up most of the display with the touch screen on the right, but as I said if needed I can change this.
The games look fine, and much better than the original display in fact, there’s no reason Nintendo couldn’t implement a similar solution.
@Kirbo100 I can imagine, but here in Sweden, some online retailers still have it (and DQVII). But it's just a matter of time before it's gone.

The Atlus games on the other hand... wow, they sure are lost in the land of scalpers now, going for ridiculous prices, especially the Shin Megami Tensei games. The only Atlus games I still see in stock are:
Persona Q
Persona Q2
Etrian Odyssey Untold 2
Etrian Odyssey Nexus
Etrian Odyssey Mystery Dungeon
The Fire Emblem 3DS games are all still available, at low prices. Just recently picked up Conquest and Echoes. But I know they will go up in price once they run out of stock. As an example, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon for the DS is pretty expensive on the second hand market, not to mention the GBA games.
Strange Journey Redux.
Lets celebrate how Persona Q2 was the last 3ds game release and actually that was my last 3ds game l got that year when it was released. Don't worry 3ds you'll always be the best and always be remembered.
@thehoppypoppy you should tell my sister it's not a baby game. She gave up on it right away because how it looks.
I think Nintendo should remaster their “first party” games to the Switch.
Like a full remaster and not like Mario 64 or Star Wars Racer.
@Mikeopferman l think it is better too. Sorry Corrin but l like the story and characters a little more👌
Ever Oasis is a phenomenal game, it was majorly overshadowed in my opinion
Monster Hunter Stories has a demo that takes you quite far into the start of the game. Definitely worth checking out.
Extra points for Persona Q2 and Etrian Odyssey for having an experience that will never be fully replicated on another console, due to how they took advantage of the dual-screen setup. If you want the unexpectedly thrilling combination of cartography and dungeon crawling, the 3DS is the only place to go.
Only didn't play Etrian Odyssey Nexus and Captain Toad (had it on Switch and Wii U) there. The rest I did play and are great games. Especially DQ VIII.
There was also the 3DS remakes of Luigi's Mansion 1 and I think Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn during this period (?) Both good!
Just shows how good the 3DS is and was. On its kind of final stretch it churns out stellar games like this.
For anyone who is interested, Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology, Etrian Odyssey Nexus, Persona Q2 and SMT: Strange Journey are all currently on sale on the 3DS eShop.
I'm currently playing through Samus Returns for the first time and having a blast. Just got the final upgrade to my gun. I also have Persona Q2 and Fire Emblem Echoes queued up. Such a great system.
3DS was kinda good. But I know a system, which is even better, the PSP.
It came out in 2004 for the first time and already surpassed the 3DS, when the DS wasn't released so far.
Way stronger selection of 3D games, so many big games developed for this system. To me, the PSP is the best handheld there is, before the Switch came
All 3ds games and the 3ds has been overshadowed by the Switch. Not even overshadowed really, completely abandoned.
The 3ds was a unique console, very good at what it did and a reasonable rival to the tablets and smartphones, or at least an updated version could have been.
Pocket Card Jockey is one of the best games on the DS store. It seems shallow on the surface but I've gotten so many hours of enjoyment out of it.
I still want to play Etrian Odyssey Nexus at some point.
I still play my 3DS from time to time. Some day I'd like to find the time to play Persona Q2, Monster Hunter Stories, and Etrisn Odyssey Nexus.
@Ghost_of_Hasashi Great, great great RPG with a wonderful story. It's unlucky it came out twice on dying consoles
Just started to play my 3DS again. I've collected quite a few RPGs and strategy games that I need to get started on. Currently playing Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2. The dual screens really are perfect for RPG/strategy games.
Mario Party Star Rush REALLY deserved to be a big hit too....it changed everything fans didn't like about Mario Party 9/10. Highly recommend that one, such a fun game with a lot of content
Just playing Shadows of Valentia at the moment! Great game so far - feels a bit more chilled out than Awakening and 3H (the only other FE games I have played).
Also - WWG is a fantastic game! Sometimes play a few rounds before bed. Some of the challenges in it are impossible though.
«3DS games from 2017 onwards»
I’d say there’s a Pokémon Ultra Sun/Moon shaped hole on this list...
Some remasters worth mentioning: Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology, Luigi’s Mansion and Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn.
Also New Style Boutique 3 - Styling Star is supposed to be very good (NL gave it a 9/10).
3DS isn’t my favourite system so I’d love to see HD versions of Detective Pikachu, Samus Returns and Ever Oasis on Switch. A riff on Wario Ware is long overdue too (though a Gold port isn’t possible), ideally leveraging Local and Online multiplayer.
I don't mean to overshadow the 3DS, but I think the 3DS is the second best handheld of all time, after the Switch Lite.
1. Switch Lite
2. 3DS XL
3. PSP
I'm not a fan of any other portable system mainly because they all have tiny screens and most aren't even backlit. The PSP was the first handheld that had a big enough backlit screen and great games. The 3DS XL has a slightly bigger screen and better games. The Switch Lite has an even bigger screen and an even better game library.
Watched the video yesterday, Jon's contents are amazing.
@Isaix I assume it's easier to port WiiU games because they are already in HD. But yeah they should port some 3DS games such as Samus Returns.
Considering how 90% of the designs in DQ8 are in XI it wouldn't take much to make an "HD" version of it for Switch
@Anti-Matter I actually picked this up a few weeks ago for less than £5. Haven't actually played it yet though...
@rockodoodle Robobot is one of the best Kirby games! But still was able to sell more than a million of units (not much, since it's quality, but not too much different from the others of the series), while the games on the list never even reach a million (unfortunately).
Yes!
Those Games are great!
imo this Fire Emblem is better than newer Versions because its Focus is more on Battle and Story than Waifu Stuff.
Dragon Quest is a really great Version and Etrian Odyssey is a very good Series.
Still playing Untold 1.
An excellent, excellent list! These games are all worth tracking down a 2DS or 3DS for. Ever Oasis is definitely what I'd call a hidden gem. Not sure if Captain Toad should be on it since the game is on other platforms though.
Except for captain toad, I wish the rest of the list was on Switch in some capacity. Specially Etrian / PQ1+2, Wario Ware and DQ8
Oh yeah, EverOasis.
One of the few 3DS games I'm kinda wishing I could spend some time with.
Don't forget Yo-kai Watch 3! I know it released in 2016 but wasn't localized until 2018/2019! I absolutely love those games and its a shame that Level 5 shut down in the USA
@Ryu_Niiyama I'm guessing this list was post-Switch games.
Fantasy Life was from like 2014.
I heard there was a sequel planned if not released (can't remember) for phones because after releasing the original Level-5 said that only kids play portable consoles (I don't know about that, I have to wonder if the opposite could be true, at least in the west: are children today more likely to have to grown up playing phones for their portable gaming than consoles? Are adults who still play portable consoles a bigger audience for them? )
@Anti-Matter I've heard even the US, Yokai Watch 3 print run was so small that supposedly most GameStop stores (the store MOST likely to sell the game at all) only got 2 or 3 copies.
Yes, luckily I had bought the Japanese version of Sushi soon after release, as well as 4 on the Switch (didn't go for the more expensive ++ version) since it's not looking good right now for a localization possibility.
Even though I still need to pick back up actually playing my Japanese copy of 1 once my Japanese skill reaches a hopefully decent level.
Ever Oasis is FANTASTIC. The Zelda quest game didn't always operate in perfect harmony with the city management game... but it was SO CLOSE to being a really exciting new hybrid genre. Grezzo knows their stuff. With a little bit of polish, the sequel could be all-time great. Based on the paltry sales, I doubt we ever get one, tho.
@mafalb How is 3DS dying when it's still selling in Japan especially the New 2DS version.
@Anti-Matter I looked at the trailer. It looks cool.
@Isaix The problem with 3DS ports on the Switch, even if there are little to no issues with the control scheme nor the dual screen usage, is that the graphics have to be redone from scratch to meet the standards of the Switch. That's a lot of work. You can't just upscale everything from the 3DS's tiny resolution up to HD resolution, as that would look terrible compared to the native HD graphics in all other Switch games.
@Kirbo100 I am so glad I got that one for my birthday around it's release it is a great adventure, it is my first dragon quest game I ever played and together with DQ XI one of my fav Jrpg's
@TheWingedAvenger The GBA SP was backlit with a good-sized screen and had great games. (Non-XL sized screens from the GBA onwards are perfectly big enough for handheld gaming. Only some earlier handhelds and smaller models like the original Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Micro have legitimate arguments as to having tiny screens.) Personally, I'm not fond of the DS's library, but many others would say the same thing about the DS.
@rockodoodle "Kirby: Planet Robobot" doesn't count, as it came out about a year before the Switch.
@BulbasaurusRex yeah, didn’t pay attention. Nintendolife better be careful or Nintendo might get the idea to port these to the Switch and count them as a new title!
@BulbasaurusRex I don't know about that. I'm not an expert of upscaling and emulation, but I've seen DS, PSP and 3DS games being played on big screen through emulation and it looks fine. Emulators don't "redo" any graphics, it's simply upscaling and it looks good.
I also had a lot of fun with my DS games on Wii U, so I don't see any problem with 3DS on Switch.
@Don That version of Luigi's Mansion doesn't do the original justice. Epic Yarn wasn't hampered by the 3DS treatment, though. Definitely should've put that one there.
@BulbasaurusRex
The GBA screen was the same height as the GB screen, which is too small. That's why so many developers made games with screen crunch. Compare Metroid II (GB) to Metroid (NES), Gunstar Superheroes (GBA) to Gunstar Heroes (SMD). I'd rather play a normal-size game than a screen-crunch one, because I want to see a lot of what's around my character. On the PSP and 3DS XL, you could finally play normal-size games on a handheld.
I guess hey Pikmin wasn’t a good game? Metroid federation force Or project X zone 2 or 1? I loved Metroid SR and Wario ware gold. Really looking forward to that Metroid prime 4.
Ok yeah. I agree like half of those. Nice going nintendo life! Getting better. There are some recent 3ds eShop indie games that are worth a look too. There's 2 from the same Silver Falls series. They are both survival horror but very different. I have to be honest that the first one "Silver Falls :3 down stars" had some flaws and glitches in it's story mode....but the main attraction is it's resident evil revelations raid mode style mode called "frontier fighters" it doesn't have those issues and glitches and is more than good enough on its own to make it worth buying imo. The second game is "silver falls: Undertakers" it's also a survival horror about aliens and UFOs too, but it's retro Atari inspired instead of a modern over shoulder RE type. Its a very cool game that is bloody, gory and full of dark humor but it looks like an Atari game. It's story mode is pretty much open world where you go around and save children and other ppl from deadly undertaker alien creatures using different items and weapons you find. There's plenty of NPCs to talk to and it's pretty funny. It has its own "mercenaries" type mode too and it's alot of fun. You fight waves of Undertakers with diff characters and weapons, unlock upgrades and can for some reason even recruit a duck and a time traveling DOG to help you fight. This stuff is completely overlooked by pretty much everyone. But both games are recently released this year and last year on 3ds. They aren't perfect but WELL worth a look
Most of these games need to be ported to the Switch already. Also add Kid Icarus: Uprising and Tank Troopers to the list.
@NerdyBoutKirby
I played through the 3DS Luigi’s Mansion in its entirety but the GC original version I only played the first area then stopped back in the day. I will have to play the original sometime to compare the two. It would be great if they release it on the Switch.
The 3ds is my favourite system for two main reasons; Ocarina 3D and Majora's Mask 3D.
Plus the retro Pokemon games, Resident Evil Revelations, a slew of great indie games (Xeodrifter, Shantae, Shovel Knight), backwards compatability, and the greatness that was Miiverse.
The 3ds was a refuge for Nintendo fans during the dark days of the Wii U. It was an underdog that suffered at the start but fought on until it made it.
Last thing to add; Heroes of Ruin is massively underrated and everyone who likes hack an slash dungeon crawlers should play it through.
Got my first ever 3ds for two weeks now and still check the eshop for my next games. These are all on my wishlist except for etrian odyssey and persona. Guess I made the right choices.
@jamesthemagi You had at Golden Sun reboot. 😀
Yes give me Dragon Quest, Metroid, Fire emblem ports!!!!!!!!!
You forgot Style Savvy Styling Star.
Fantasy life definitely deserved to be in this list.
Yo kai watch 3 and the professor layton games aswell
The thing i find really peculiar is this; i know loads of people who still have and play (occasionally) on their normal DS and never got a 3DS. If Nintendo came out with a new DS title that was Mario or perhaps something new, it would likely sell, despite the console being nearly 17 years old.
@Cosmofantasmo
I'll recommend some older games not mentioned here you can look into:
Bravely Default
Conception 2 Children of 7 Stars
Corpse Party Back to School
Dragon Quest (VII)
Fire Emblem Awakening (Fates Revelation, Valencia)
Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance
Kirby Planet Robobot
M&L Dream Team
Miitopia
Prof Layton (Series starts on DS)
Pokemon XY, ORAS, USUM (HGSS on DS)
Pushmo
Shin Megami Tensei IV, Devil Survivor 2
Stella Glow (like Luminous Arc and FFTactics)
Super Mario 3D Land (Duh!)
Legend of Zelda (Link Between World, Majora, Ocarina)
Tomodachi Life
Yo-kai Watch 3
Zero Escape: Virtue Last Reward (9Hr, 9 Person, 9 Doors is on the DS)
DS
Advance Wars Dual Strike
Chrono Trigger
Digimon World (Dusk or Dawn)
Dragon Quest (4-6, 9)
FF Tactics A2
Golden Sun Dark Dawn
Magical Starsign
Pokemon Mystery Dung Explorers of Sky
Suikoden Tierkrais
I tried not to double dip with franchises found on Switch and pick from my favorites. 3DS is an amazing handheld!
@Anti-Matter I will talk about it. It's great. I got it (physical) for three bucks. Win bloody win.
@Cosmofantasmo Persona Q2 and some of the Etrians are on sale, 75% off, at least in my region (aus). Despite not being on your wishlist Q2 is definitely vworth a go.
No thank you l
@jamesthemagi i see you mention Stella Glow, i click like (^0^)/. One of the most underrated stragety games on 3DS, unforgettable game on 3DS for me. The first time i finished it, i am luckily get true ending )). I love story, character and music of this game. Yeah, Stella Glow deserve a remake or port but sadly, Imageepoch, studio behind that game already bankrupt (, maybe another studio/ company will have license and develop a sequel, or make a port/ remake/ remastered.
@Ghost_of_Hasashi Radiant Historia is the last game i finished on my N3DS, i hear many good review about both versions, but i play a remake aka Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology on 3DS and totally love it. Highly recommend that game for anyone love JRPG genre. Sadly, I beat that game but not get true ending :v.
@jamesthemagi @matdub
Thx for the advice. Already checked out some games from the list and the sale is here in Europe, too, so I have a lot to think about what game to get next.
I still use my 3DS for Culdcept Revolt, Pocket Card Jockey, Gotta Protectors, Shiren the Wanderer, Tomodachi Life, to name a few.
@3dvCuong12
I heard the same
Unfortunately, I don't know if anyone picked up the rights or if they can even purchase rights to work with it
@Cosmofantasmo
No prob
Lmk if you have any questions about any of those titles
If they release all previous Dragon Quest games on switch, I will be so damn happy.
Also please re release or remake Ever Oasis. Its like the only 3ds game I want on switch right now except maybe Pokemon UsUm
@Don Imagine a Luigi's Mansion HD Collection! 1, 2, and Arcade in HD on one cartridge!
@NerdyBoutKirby
That would be really awesome. If that happens I hope they add some checkpoints to LM2. I remember getting killed in one stage after spending 20 minutes in it and it took me back to the beginning of the level.
@Don I'd gladly take more ScareScraper ghost patterns, too. I can collect those guys forever.
@Nintendo4Sonic The main thing that defeats your argument is that the PSP didn't have not only the same support nor sales as the 3DS had, but no stereoscopic 3D either. Which to me, was the 3DS's main selling point and really heightened playability for me. RIP PSP and PS Vita.
I’m still dreaming with a Switch port of Kid Icarus - Uprising... 🥺
@Magrane I didn't care about the 3D. I guess almost nobody did.
And what support do you mean? The PSP had a superb support.
The 3DS mainly got Nintendos own titles, where not everything was that great. And of course about 100 RPGs or so.
@Nintendo4Sonic You’re waaay off that it mainly got Nintendo-only support. Just like the PSP, there were plenty of exclusive 3rd party titles. It’s ok that you didn’t care about the stereoscopic 3D, but many others did.
As far as “support” goes, I overstated that. The PSP had a lot of developers make good games for it that are not on Nintendo systems.
