It wasn't the busiest of weeks this week, with our most popular headlines revolving around an accusation against Apex Legends and Starter Pokémon fan rankings, but we're still ever grateful for a chance to relax and chat about our weekend gaming plans.
Members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

I made a solemn vow at the start of the year to not buy more games off my eShop wishlist just because they’re cheap. Within a week I had broken that loosest of resolutions and piled another half dozen games into my Switch Home screen, one of which (Octahedron) I already own in physical form. I know, I know — I'm weak, but it seemed rude not to for 1,29€! I have played one of my recent purchases, though! 51 Worldwide Games has been perfect to chill out with for half an hour in the evenings. Perhaps I’ll get to Urban Flow, DERU, AER: Memories of Old and Luigi’s Mansion 3 sometime over the weekend… though probably not.
You see, I’ve also been playing Metroid: Samus Returns on my new New 3DS XL. At least, I was until I got side-tracked by the truly brilliant Pocket Card Jockey. What can I say? ‘One quick go’ turned into ‘fourteen not-so-quick goes’ and a very late night. I know I said Fire Emblem Awakening was my Game of the (previous) Decade, but I must have been lying.
I can only hope Pocket Card Jockey never comes to Switch; I don’t think I’d play another game again.

Hello. This weekend I’m gonna be spending the majority of my time getting stuck into Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy for my upcoming review. I was a pretty big fan of the first instalment of Ryza’s story and it’s pretty neat to see her return for a second game, the first time a lead character has returned for another spin in the franchise’s history as far as I’m aware. Any spare time I manage to eek out after that will be dedicated to racking up more kills in Hitman 3 – Cloud Version and attempting to blast my way further up the online leaderboards in the absolutely excellent twin-stick shooter, Bezier, which I highly recommend everyone jump right into as it’s 75% off right now! Have a good weekend, whatever you’re up to and stay safe!

Every weekend is a GameCube weekend and this one is filled with the epic adventures of Ike in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, a world at war in Battalion Wars and some truly dubious Donkey Kong handballs in Mario Smash Football. But lots of Switch action as well since packages from the East delivered an assortment of import goodies including Touhou Spell Academy, Kamen Rider: Memory of Heroez and pure 8-bit shmup bliss from Aleste Collection.
My game of the week is Wrestling Empire! Again! Every day I put in another career month with my avatar so I’m looking forward to playing December 2021 and January 2022 and see whatever new insanity my Weekend Warriors promotion throws my way… but I must admit I’m not too keen on the new handle that was imposed on me: “Major Boy”.

I'm hoping (but also sort of not hoping) that I'll wrap up Pokémon Trading Card Game on Game Boy this weekend as I'm currently battling my way through the Grand Masters. As I spoke about at length yesterday I'd give almost anything for a reboot on Switch, but with that feeling unlikely, I'll try to make it drag out a little longer by collecting cards I'm missing and making my deck that bit stronger.
Speaking of Switch, I haven't touched any games on there for a strangely long time. I genuinely can't remember the last thing I played on it, it's been so long, so perhaps I should rectify that by going back to a classic. Our YouTube team's recent video on Zelda: Breath of the Wild did make me want to boot that up again, but if anything, I'll probably end up going back to either Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, because you just can't go wrong with either of them. Have a good one, folks.
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your gaming choices over the next few days...

Finished Bug Fables (which was really good) a couple of days ago so I used the last day or so to play through a few shorter games, getting through Florence, Grisaia Phantom Trigger 5.5 and Tadpole Treble. Now I’ve started up Paradise Killer which seems pretty interesting so far so that’ll probably keep me pretty occupied for the rest of the weekend.
Am playing through the Dizzy games on my Evercade. I just finished Dizzy The Adventurer, which I enjoyed massively. I miss this type of game! Will probably try to finish 9th Dawn III on the Switch as well, which is a very good Ultima style game. Probably a run or two of Hades too. Have a great weekend, guys, and stay safe.
Maybe start Tales of Vesperia
Borderlands 2 switch edition and BioShock remastered switch edition.
Playing through the final case of the first Ace Attorney game, which is a beauty. Then I'll give Donut County a whirl, and if I get all that done I might launch into my first ever playthrough of The Witcher 3...slightly daunted by that game!
Playing Hyrule Warriors AOC that i got for Christmas and I'm really surprised by how much content there is and how hooked it's keeping me. When I do burn out though I have VOEZ as my chill out game that i bought in one of the recent sales. I DEFINATELY will go back to rune factory 4 since i cheated on it with Zelda but I don't think I was ready for that kind of commitment.
Spirit of Justice, Bioshock 2 and fooling around in the big realms like Starlink and The Outer Worlds are definitely on the menu; likely more Bloodroots and Agent A as well, plus a bite off the just acquired Gnome More War (a very convincing impression of a Pooyan successor) and Seeds of Resilience and possibly a run or two in Isaac I fancied last time but never got around to over the whole week since. Perhaps more dungeon crawling and mapping in Etria, too.
And besides, who knows? All the recent MonHun Rise buzz may be tempting me to do more progress in God Eater Resurrection and maybe even unshelf and poke around in Monster Hunter itself, namely Freedom (which, to my knowledge, is the portable incarnation of the first entry).
In tangentially related news, I'll also be watching some other folks play, albeit in a fictional realm - finally managed to start Bofuri, a glorious and hilarious ode to Video Game Irony, boosted further by an endearing cast. Despite the pandemic, Silver Link sure was on a roll last year.
Still working on BotW! 63 Shrines down, Master Sword, 2 divine beasts done.... started Master Sword Trials tonight, Beginner done. Still soooo much more to do in this game. Still debating on going after all the Korok seeds or not, as every other Zelda game I’ve played I 100% my first save file, always. This may be a first time I won’t 100% it, as I truly hate collection of that magnitude, ugh.
Should be finishing Hyrule Warriors today. After that not sure, thinking of starting Bastion or Transistor, considering how good Hades was.
Will finish links awakening on switch. Play some more grindstone. Start another game from the backlog
Back to Galaxy in 3D All Stars, going for 100% completion. After that, undecided.
I'm going to focus on trying to complete the wonderful Conduct Together and help my friend unlock her final levels of Mario 35 (if we manage to get in the same online games) I unlocked/completed all my levels in it finally last week and can now play as Luigi.
I'm also replaying Sonic Forces and doing some online Mario Kart 8 as usual. Possibly some Switch Leisure Suit Larry.
Going a bit out of my comfort zone with Legend of Grimrock which I've heard described as a rather hiqh quality dungeon crawler, which is a genre I love.
However it is a PC game that has real time combat and keyboard+mouse control which is a terrible combination for someone such as myself who has been a console games for his entire life, I can handle turn based keyboard+mouse but real time, combined with the games' indepth inventory management and whatnot really does make me realize how much I suck at PC gaming, my hand starts to feel numb just after half an hour of gaming...
It really has been fun though despite that, just made it out of some horrible spider den which was the first really big challenge I faced in the game.
I'm playing Dynasty Warriors 8 on Switch right now.
Otherwise, Super Double Dragon on Evercade and Legend of Grimrock II on PC.
I'm gonna play ff 15.
@Expa0 Hah, while I was writing my post saying that I'm playing Legend of Grimrock II on PC you posted to say you're playing LoG! Despite not having much experience in the genre, I loved the original so much that I bought the sequel on GOG when I finished it and am playing that one now. So far it seems to be similar but better in pretty much every way.
I played a lot of Wii U games this weekend. 😀
1. Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival
2. LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER
3. Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014
4. Mario Kart 8
5. Wii Party U
And World of Final Fantasy MAXIMA Switch
I didn't play Wii U for long time so i turned on my Wii U for maintenance and played some Wii U games as i prepare myself to consider another Wii U games to be purchased during this year. I will make a new list for the Wii U games i haven't bought yet i will try to consider other Wii U titles to make it break from 12 games limitation. I will target 20 Wii U games by total.
And for World of Final Fantasy MAXIMA, i have neglected for almost 2 years then yesterday i played again as my responsibility to finish my backlogs.
I didn't play WOFF MAXIMA for very long time due awkward and cringey conversations during cutscenes, made me less impressed to continue the game. I speed up the dialogues by press R button as the dubbing was pretty cringey so better i play the game without dubbing.
@Ooyah Oh yes, you remind me I have to play through Fast Food Dizzy on Switch (89p via the Fuze Player app!) Do you have it? What do you think of it? Honestly I preferred the Composite 64 version but it's still charming and full of nostalgic music.
i am playing trough several actually alternaing beetween BioShock 2(first time playing) , okami HD (first time playing) and immortal fenyx.
last week i finished doom eternal(loved it!)
Persona 5 Royal (playing this for 3/4 of a year already), some Rocket League, Yoshi’s New Island and Zelda Picross.
Iconoclasts on Switch. Can’t say I’m enjoying it that much but I’m fairly close to the end so would like to see it through.
@Clyde_Radcliffe I am having so much trouble trying to unlock 8-4! It’s the only level I have left to unlock but it never comes up, and that’s been the case for weeks now! I’m almost at level *50 and I really wanna play as Luigi.
@RainbowTashie I’m also hooked on Age of Calamity. I agree I did not expect this much content from a warriors game.
Playing it makes me excited for BOTW2.
This week I will be mostly playing
Two Point Hospital
Pokémon White
Age of Calamity
Pocket Card Jockey is such a fun game. I got it at launch and played it for months. I should go back to it someday.
As for what I'm playing right now... Mainly Picross 3D: Round 2. I wrote last week that I was about to finish it but little did I know that a big chunk of the game is locked until you beat it.
Link’s Awakening rerun on Switch and might start my new copy of Fire Emblem Echoes on 3DS
@Peteykins @AmplifyMJ Do you two know how the warp pipes in 1-2 work? I found by using them strategically I can find my level in near enough every game.
The levels it gives you aren't random. From right to left, the three warps will take you one level forward in the cycle, two levels forward in the cycle, and three levels forward in the cycle.
So if I ever see 1-2 in the middle or left pipe (left is better if you have 1-2 in them both) I go down it and keep repeating the process until my level comes up. If 1-2 or my level isn't there I always go down the left pipe until I come to 1-2 again and repeat.
Also whenever I'm on 1-1 or 1-2 I always get the stars and charge through the levels. Before the stars I'll get all the coins.
Charging through 1-1 and 1-2 with my stars and constantly repeating the above warp pipe trick until my level comes up in a pipe or naturally works almost every time.
Also worth noting that 8-4 is one of those weird castle levels where you have to go a very specific route to complete it, so if you're not familiar with it it would be good to Google the route or learn it in Practice mode first.
@Glitchling78 I also played most of that game and I agree with your assessment. It is an okay platformer, and it has some good ideas. But honestly I quit near the end because, well, I don't want to spoil it for you. I totally understand finishing a game, but I just decided it wasn't worth my time. I hope the ending is fantastic!
@Peteykins @AmplifyMJ You don't have to wait for the stage to show up randomly. As far as I know, you can unlock stages by beating the previous stages. So choose 8-3 before starting a match and do your best to survive until it shows up and beat it. That should unlock the next level which is 8-4. What I don't know is if you have to have beaten all the previous stages too since I went in order. If that's the case, just look that you have a star in each stage. I started playing last month and I'm only level 50 or so with all levels unlocked.
@Late Pocket Card Jockey! I haven't played that in years. I stopped playing it because it was weirdly addictive. The game play is great and I played for many hours. But, ultimately I felt the game had too much chance and not enough player influenced progression.
@AmplifyMJ @Peteykins Sorry, there was a typo, meant to say I airways go down LEFT pipe if my level or 1-2 aren't there! Edited.
Just bought a New 2DS XL to replace my 2DS that died back in 2017. Currently playing Pokémon Crystal on it.
Rocket League, Travel Mosaics, Need for Speed, ACNH.
And, I think I will start Will o the Wisps this weekend. I can't wait!
Happy gaming everyone!
@Late I was under that impression, but I’ve beat 8-3 numerous times now and it doesn’t unlock 8-4. Thank you though.
@Clyde_Radcliffe yeah I know about using the warp pipes in 1-2 and it served me well unlocking all the other levels, I just cannot get a match where 8-4 comes up 😅 thank you.
Working my way through Sniper v3 ultimate edition 🤪
Pretty much just Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition again this weekend. I'm past the halfway point now, around lvl 56, and around 47 hours played. Even though I've been really feeling it, I think I'll take a short mid-game break to play Cyber Shadow when it releases next week. Maybe this weekend, I might change it up a little and play some Pure Pool or a bit of my Arcade 1ups between all that Xenoblade, but I'm really on for the long haul with that game.
@Clyde_Radcliffe
I must admit that I wasn't a huge fan of the more arcadey Dizzy games! I mainly stuck to the adventures. I am pining for the C64 versions, though! 😆 The versions on the Evercade are from the NES. Fantasy World Dizzy has been transformed into an abomination!
p. s - I love C.R.E.A.T.U.R.E.S!!! 😆 Phenomenal game.
That resi 8 demo
@dartmonkey
Pocket Card Jockey is just amazing, isn't it? I lost countless hours to that. It's just so incredibly charming. I do hope that it comes to the Switch.
Civilization VI, late game spreading the glorious French culture across the globe.
Ring Fit Adventure, just got back into it a week ago and still have to limit my workout, but it's going well. Shocking to see how far down the leaderboards I fell in three months of inactivity.
Not much aside from those, I need to get some knitting done and have a lot of odd jobs around the house. So not a lot of gaming this weekend.
I'm catching up with my backlog. Today Metroid Fusion, tomorrow Paper Mario (n64)!
About a third of the way through Skies of Arcadia legends. Such a cool setting for an rpg
Animal Crossing will continue to get some attention (it only arrived for our household on December 25th). Reconnected the ps3 this morning as the kids want to play some of my older Lego games, so I'm planning to use that as an excuse to tackle some of my older unfinished games.
On my Switch:
Chilling 51 worldwide games
Speedrunning Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and Donkey Kong Country 2
Fighting Pokken Tournament DX
Waiting Mario 3d Wörld (+Bowser)
and on the PS: Hitman 3
Really enjoying 2 point hospital since I got it on sale. Also playing Mutant League Football ever since my real NFL team was knocked out of the playoffs.
I spent a few hours playing Xenoblade Chronicles X again. Took it a bit to remember how to play, but the game still looks amazing.
@Jacobpower i got ff15 on release and still havnt put a hour in. I know as i love ff. I will get to it! Enjoy
ah bayonetta 2 is waiting for me too this weekend!
@AmplifyMJ Then I'd guess the game wants you to beat every level before the one you're trying to unlock. Make sure that you have beaten each stage at least once. There should be a star icon and a number indicating how many times you've beaten a stage.
@Peteykins 7-4 is a weird stage. I remember trying to find the correct path when I first played Super Mario Bros. back in the day. That stage can really screw you over in Mario 35 if you don't know where you're going since the only way to get time back during that looping section is by killing enemies sent by other players.
Uncharted remastered. Really enjoying it so far.
Shadow of the tomb raider definitive edition. Should arrive today.
Pokemon shield. Still want to breed some shinies.
@Late @Clyde_Radcliffe update! Just had a look over my level select screen, and realised the only level I hadn’t actually beat myself, as indicated by the Star, was 8-2! So I’ve just beat it and hey presto, 8-4 is now available! Thank you 😊
Should finish God of War 2 this weekend (which is awesome) then I might go onto Puppeteer or Jak and Daxter The Precursor Legacy for PS3.
On Switch I've been playing Magicat which is a simple but fun platformer, nothing amazing but relaxing. I also play Ring Fit Adventure twice a week as it helps keep my back pain at bay.
@Dm9982 I didn't manage to 100% Breath of the Wild either, it's just too much. The only other Zelda game I haven't completed 100% was collecting all the figurines in The Minish Cap on GBA because the lottery system was just silly.
@AmplifyMJ Congrats!
Dota Underlords. My switch is at my parent's house rn and even tho I just got a pa4 with an assassins creed game, dota calls my name
@Ooyah Yeah I much prefer the 8 bit home computer versions. I don't know why they focus so much on the NES versions in recent years, even the Amiga versions were much better IIRC. The Mega Drive game wasn't bad either.
Seems like a misguided decision based on the fact that Nintendo are still around and making consoles maybe?
Yeah, Creatures was amazing and Creatures 2 even better... And Mayhem in Monsterland! So many great games lost in time that deserve a proper collection of sorts on Switch and Steam...
Minna no Hanafuda is always likely, and I might finally check out the Monster Hunter Rise demo everybody's talkin about.
I have been visiting a bunch of Game Boy Advance games that I missed out on as a kid by going to retro game sellers and shopping around on the internet for the best deals on authentic cartridges. I just finished The Hobbit last night and loved it, and I am starting up Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories today. I have also been playing Super Mario Allstars via Nintendo Switch!
I've been reading this thread every week for a while now, but never posted. I hope you're all having a great weekend!
I'm finishing up Carrion on Switch. I've been enjoying the game thus far, but wish it came with a map. I've gotten lost quite frequently.
Not sure what to play after that, as my backlog is massive. Maybe Luigi's Mansion on 3DS, or Kirby's Canvas Curse.
I've played a lot of Wingspan and Monster Hunter Rise.
Playing smash, FF7R, maybe Pokémon sword or replaying Undertale again.
I'm actually playing a few different titles. Mostly I'm playing immortals fenyx rising. I would say I'm about half way through the story line, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm half way through the game. I can sink quite a few more hours into it if I want to, but I might try to tidy up as much as I can and move on. I love the game but I have alot I want to get to and this game can easily pull you aside for dozens and dozens of hours.
Aside from that I've been playing tons of wii with the kids. And yoshis woolly world with my little guy. Hes obsessed with the green fellow atm. I sometimes fire up yoshis new island for myself too. So tons of stuff going on.
I do also have the urge to play some Tony hawks underground on GC. We'll see though.
Splatoon 2 and smash ultimate. My son thinks he's better than me in smash now. Have to teach him a lesson.
I'll probably continue playing some Pokemon Sword. I really want to finish it up before diving into the DLC. Have a great weekend everyone!
1) Wrestling Empire; describing it in the review as "the video game equivalent of Paul Heyman-era ECW" instantly sold me on it, so thank you.
2) Hypnospace Outlaw; this is the third platform I've bought it on. I love it.
Great to see the Pocket Card Jockey love!
I'm playing through Pokemon White for the first time. Just beat the second gym yesterday. So far so good. I'm not seeing "best Pokemon game ever" like most claim though.
Besides that the usual Animal Crossing New Horizon and Splatoon 2. I caught the shiny Tauros for the raid event in Pokemon Shield and may go back to get a shiny Miltank.
Mostly the same as last weekend. Mainly Breath of the Wild (90+ hours, 89 Shrines, 200 Koroks, one Divine Beast left) on the Switch and a little Donkey Kong Country 3 on Wii U VC. Probably a bit of the usual Pokemon Go as well, though I may take a break for today.
There's also the sudden game of Fix Bathroom Sink Drain to attend to....Ugh. :frown:
Have a good weekend! Happy gaming!
I'm going into this weekend, looking to continue my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, that I started last weekend on my 3DS. I'm also planning on playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, this weekend as well on the Nintendo Switch.
Also with hockey season in full swing, I'll probably play some NHL 20 on the PS4 as well. I might even give Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and/or Sonic Spinball a quick play while I'm at it.
Firing up the Switch again after about a month hiatus from gaming. Think I'll finish Ori 2 and play some of the many old school arcade games I have (Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Frogger, Burgertime, Bubble Bobble). Oh yeah, and Tetris 99.
Final Fantasy 7, Scott Pilgrim, and Super Mario 3D Collection.
I downloaded Forgotton Anne yesterday (yay 60% off)! Hoping to get it started.
I also love Bezier. What a cool looking, fun playing, and great sounding geometry wars style shooter! I highly recommend it, especially at $2 or $3 dollars or whatever ridiculously awesome price it's set at right now. Even better, but not a good deal in terms of price, is the perfect Aleste Collection! This M2 release has become my favorite M2 release, my favorite shoot'em up release on Switch, and one of my favorite game collections of all time! The music generally feels like a similar wonderful vibe as Battle Garegga, and the gameplay is up in that league also. Love it, love it, love it.
I've also been addicted to Rocket League, as usual. And I'm also playing Worms WMD, Super Mario Bros 35, Super Mario Maker 2(the new ninji course is fun/cool), Colorful Colore (the song in the game is worth the $1 it cost me! decent puzzler otherwise), Charge Kid (holy crap this one's difficult), Feddy Spaghetti (fun!), Taiko no Tatsujin rhythmic adventure pack, and good old trusty Kingdom New Lands.
Yoshi's Island! Just beat the frog guy, on to World 4!
@p0cketpingp0ng I originally played it mostly on the gamepad and occasionally on a 720p 27” TV. When we finally upgraded the tv to a 1080p 40” the difference was amazing. I am always amazed what Nintendo gets out of their low powered consoles.
Mario Galaxy
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered
Grindstone
Dead Cells
Wrestling Empire
Exploring 51 Worldwide Games with my partner, some Super Mario 3D All Stars too. Lovely to hear Pocket Card Jockey mentioned so much.
MHR demo
Streets of rage 4
Tho just noticed PANZER DRAGOON for £5 so that’s a download must!
Still playing through Final Fantasy X (I think I'm around 30 hours in)! I also ended up caving and buying the Castlevania collection so I'm playing that right now as well. I already beat the original Castlevania and now I'm working through Kid Dracula. I tried Simons Quest for a little bit but honestly, I feel a little less motivated to finish that one for some reason. Maybe I'll give it another try later. I also started Untitled Goose Game with my brother last week. Truthfully I'm glad they added the local co-op option because it's a lot more fun playing a game like that with someone.
PS4 style. Assassins creed origins and doom eternal xxx
@PBNightmare Pokemon White isn't the best, people just say that for the same reason people still think goldeneye is good; Nostalgia. POkemon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire tho, THOSE are the best
Likely some Super Mario Sunshine via SMB 3D All Stars collection. I've also played Corridor Z here and there for the past week or so on Switch and have already played it for a bit today.
WRESTLING EMPIRE has been the chocolate covered nugget of 90's gaming I have been craving. I loved AKI's wrestling titles and this scratches that itch to an insane extreme. It is a daily chore to update newly unlocked wrestlers with their real names. To give an example of the awesomeness... Last night I was fighting Andy Kaufman and Jerry "The King" Lawler was the referee. Andy turns to Lawler and starts going off on how Lawler can't be trusted and that of he is here then this match is obviously rigged. Lawler exclaimed that he is always a fair officiator. Stuff like this blows my mind, especially considering their real life "rivalry." On a side note my wife bought IMMORTALS: FENYX RISING last night so I will also be starting that this weekend.
1080º Snowboarding (N64) - Just starting on this one, mostly been playing multi with the kids.
Halo: Spartan Assault (Windows Phone) - Trying to get best ranks on all levels.
Orbital (Windows Phone) - Still playing this here and there.
Real life events prompted me to feel a strung urge to revisit the Pokemon universe again. After finding out my Pokemon Silver battery had depleted, making saving impossible until replacing it, I caved in and ordered Pokemon Sword. What a blast to be all the time wondering: which pokemon should be in my team??
For my 20th birthday I bought myself a physical copy of Hollow Knight- this is also my 20th switch game
Played a little bit of it on game pass last year and I'm very exited to jump in once again.
@Divinebovine Yeah I've played all of them except Gen 4 now and I agree that OR/AS are the best.
I'll still be playing Mario Sunshine. I'm on Shrine Sprite #42 or #43. I lost count at the moment
Chorus Arc. I know Kemco RPGs get a bad rap (sometimes deservedly so), but this game is like a pair of comfy slippers. Nice old school feel to it without it being too taxing. I previously played through it on the 3DS, and now almost completed it again on Switch, as part of the Kemco RPG Omnibus physical release.
Might also get back to Sakuna (great game) and possibly play Horace a bit. Gotta say not loving it at all so far, but I’m only in the long painful intro period still. Apparently it gets better according to the review and comments on here.
Star Wars Galaxies.
I'll likely head back to Animal Crossing: New Horizons this weekend. Oh, and tomorrow is my birthday! So I'll likely play some Mario games with my family to celebrate. Was thinking of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Maker 2, or one of the Mario Party games. Maybe some Nintendo Land, as well.
@PBNightmare I was recently thinking of getting OR/AS from the eShop soon. Heard great things about HG/SS, but sadly they're like $100 at least. So OR/AS it is, lol
@Strumpf Happy birthday! You'll have a great time with Hollow Knight, there's so much to discover there, there's probably enough for you to explore still.
Thunder Force III on Megadrive, Dragon Spirit on PC-Engine and Spyro 2 on PS4.
I've been playing Immortals Fenyx Rising. It has a terrible name but it has been a really fun game. Also working on a Stardew Farm.
late last night i was playing a little bit of Command and Conquer 1 and Red Alert for my PSP.
I've really been enjoying the new Clubhouse Games and Shiren the Wanderer. They were two of my most played games on DS, so it's nice to see both series return on Switch.
Skyrim. Owned the cart for a couple of years but never played, so I've made a start. Enjoying it so far. I get the feeling that the 3 or 4 hours a week I'll probably get to play it won't really be enough given how deep it's supposed to be, but let's see.
Also played a bit of 'SpaceChem' while home schooling in the week, an old pc game i had from a humble bundle a few years back. Addictive coding style puzzle game.
I just finished my homework and I'm about to play some of my 3DS games. I don't know which ones I'm going to play though.
After a long hiatus, I have been playing Breath of the Wild again regularly from the end of last year, which I hadn't played with any reguarlity since maybe 2017 or early 2018. I had about 85 hours clocked in at the time. No divine beasts had been conquered yet, though I had found the Zora Domain one.
Since playing again, I made it to Gorok City, conquered my first beast, then went on to conquer the Rito village one, and yesterday, I was just casually wandering around (and within) Hyrule Castle as I was farming for Ancient Cores so that I could update my gear and I casually wandered into the Sanctum.
I defeated Waterblight Ganon without breaking a sweat, but Thunderblight Ganon had me stumped at first. I defeated Ganon on my second attempt.
Even though this will likely be my most difficult attempt at defeating him, I still feel like I cheated as I hadn't completed the other two beasts (among other quests). I also accidentally found one of the EX items during my exploring.
I doubt that I will ever 100% complete the game, but I would at least like to complete all of the missions, shrines, and max out my inventory (which I suspect that I am not even close to achieving). I have since clocked in another 90 hours.
@wazlon I never got around to Minish Cap when it originally released as my friend borrowed my copy and then lost it. I grabbed it on 3DS as part of the ambassador program, but still haven’t gotten around to playing it, so I didn’t even know about that lotto system. Thanks for the heads up though, as that would have just cheesed me once I realized it.
I came to the conclusion that I probably won’t get all 900 koroks this run, but will keep my save file Incase I want to go back and try, or just slowly grab them as I feel like it. But I’m not devastated if i don’t get 100% on those, as I can 100% everything else without issue like the compendium, shrines, quests, map, etc...
@Anti-Matter Nice! I am playing the Switch Version of LEGO City Under Cover. I have finished it and going back for all the collectibles. I think I am around 75% complete.
Tomorrow I'm going to chuck on this Monster Hunter demo and see if I can figure it out, otherwise? More Pure Pool. What an amazing game.
I will try the Ninja game for once. Just very lazy.
@WiltonRoots I'm so bad at playing pool video games, I'm only better at it when playing in real life hehe. It just feels different because no stick to actually hold.
I’ve been playing Splatoon 2 multiplayer and Shovel Knight (the King Knight adventure). I hadn’t played the new DLC yet and I love it almost as much as the original Shovel Knight adventure itself. I’ve also been slowly making my way through Velocity 2x which is an amazing game. While not required, I love to play a level until I get awarded a Perfect medal so I often only play one stage for a little while. I’m currently about halfway through the standard missions so far.
I was just thinking how much I enjoy seeing what everyone else is playing. Perhaps there could be a corresponding article on Monday to see what progress everyone made over the weekend. Just a thought.
Most of the weekend is comprised of gaming on a newly bought Series S and GamePass. Forza, Call of the Sea and Donut County which are all great. Might try to find time for some Paper Mario before the weekend is over.
Gonna take you back to the past to play some 💩 games that suck 🍑😄
@Ooyah got this a couple of weeks ago with the xeno crisis, tanglewood pack, lovely little machine been thoroughly enjoying it 😊
I've been working on Horace. It's weird and wonderful, and I'm not sure I personally would give it a 10, but that might just because I've gone through a string of several REALLY good games in the past few weeks. On the other hand, I'll reserve my final judgement until after I've finished it, and I can kind of tell it's only going to get better from here on out.
