@gokev13 Yea I really enjoyed fighting games in that era as well. Played all the same ones but kinda lost interest in the mid to late 90s. I guess that was around the same time I had switched solely to PC gaming for a while.
Unless there is some major promotion, why preorder anything digital? I used to preorder physical copies of games back in the day before digital and internet existed, and game stores got limited copies of games. Now there is basically no point with exception of limited edition SKUs. People should stop preordering games. Publishers might be forced to release games with more polish if folks would wait until after the game is out to part with their cash.
@gokev13 I played the crap out of MK2 on SNES and then even more of MK3 on the PlayStation (which was an arcade worthy port). After that I didn’t play much Mortal Kombat. Crazy that 20+ years later we are at MK11.
@ALinkttPresent because that’s got to be the absolutely most obvious thing to do so the trucks most certainly have cameras too. I watched a video last year of a ups driver drop off one package and steal another. So many people have cameras just for this reason now days. Some people are just stupid.
Not going to argue the whole list but seeing the NES so low on the list tells me this list was influenced heavily by a younger generation. Such an influential console with a ridiculous library of games. The console that started it all deserves a higher spot.
@Deku-Scrub Wii was the only Nintendo system I didn’t embrace. I wasn’t a fan of motion control and the graphics were dull. I did enjoy Skyward Sword, in spite of the motion controls which added unnecessary difficulty to certain parts of the game. I have yet to play either Mario Galaxy, although I do have them both and intend to get to them eventually. As for the Switch titles in this article, I consider all 3 to be must-have games for any Nintendo fan, especially Breath of the Wild. I’m very happy to see Switch doing so well and I hope we eventually get a more powerful Switch sometime down the road.
@Cobalt it’s because the Wii U was a failure that were are getting so many Wii U games ported over. So many people that own the Switch that never had a Wii U. With that said I partly agree with you about the pricing. I played SMBU on Wii U years ago and would love to have it on Switch, but I won’t be paying full retail. I’ll scoop it up on sale. For those that have never played, it’s worth the price.
@Bevinator there are already far more Switch owners than the Wii U had in it’s lifetime, lots of people to experience these games for the first time. I personally played through on Wii U and while I’d like the option to play on Switch I won’t buy it a second time at full price.
@John_Deacon I’d say it’s definitely worth it for those who haven’t played it, it’s a great Mario title. I already have it on Wii U and would love to have it on Switch but I won’t pay full retail for it again.
I’d definitely get this if I can catch a sale. Although I played through it on the Wii U back in the day I do consider it a solid title and would love to have a digital version to always have with the system.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this gets a patch to somehow get Mew in the game or there is an event distribution of Mew in like 6 months. At this point it doesn’t feel very hard to get Pokemon, I stopped doing the distribution events on the 3DS because they started to feel repetitive. Looking forward to the new generation on switch!
Just wait for the real Pokémon RPG next year. Switch sales are gonna be nuts when that comes out in 2019. I have my copy of let’s go Pikachu but I’m waiting until Christmas to play because I have the Eevee version for my son. Looking forward to playing!
@SuperGhirahim64 I’m sure when devs make a game there is a certain experience they plan to deliver to the gamer. Sometimes, even if they spend the time and money on a dedicated engine they just can’t achieve what they want on a given platform. I’ve played a couple hours now on Xbox One X and I’m hoping they improve performance on the system because i wasn’t entirely impressed. That being said this is a huge open world multiplayer game and as it is I don’t see it running on Switch, at least not in a way that the devs would be happy with. This is why Nintendo isn’t my only system, I love Nintendo but I want to play games the way they were meant to be played, not chopped up in order to work on a weaker machine.
@SuperGhirahim64 more like it can be done but it would be watered down to the point that it wouldn’t be a comparable experience to the other non-portable systems.
I played the beta for an hour yesterday and I’m looking forward to the release. I have an Xbox One X and I wasn’t totally impressed with how the game was running so I certainly wouldn’t expect it to run on Switch and if they did it would probably be watered down to the point that I wouldn’t bother. That said, I don’t expect every game out to come out on Switch as well. It’s an underpowered portable system and I have different expectations for it.
@The_ghostmen I guess if you have played them all I can see the issue but there are many who haven’t so it makes a lot of sense to put them out. The more the merrier I’d say.
Unreal! Nintendo and Sony have it going on, Sega needs to take the reigns and develop their own classic hardware so I can get in on some Sega goodness too. The ROMs on these units probably aren’t even licensed. Sad!
I’d really love to be able to access the same characters from Switch or PC. If I could do that I’d get the Switch version on day one. No interest in maintaining two separate Diablo 3 universes.
@Medic_alert with all due respect, 1080p isn’t even close to cutting edge. The current hardware is nearly there and can do 1080p on the tv. A small spec bump and more battery and we are there.
@Medic_alert seeing what is and has been happening on phones I think they could do it. I’m one of those people that would be perfectly fine if the switch were a little thicker to support a larger capacity battery. Either way though I still think releasing a more powerful unit this early would really be harmful to the momentum. Really a Switch 2.0 a few years down the line with said features would be fine with me.
@Yasume yea I’d like to see a more powerful switch at some point. I’m not worried about 4K but one that can easily and consistantly run 1080p 60 without turning off everything would be really nice. That being said, it’s too early in the console’s lifespan for that.
@BladedKnight 100% they used to do so many cool things with the older systems. Give us multiple colors, transparent systems. Screen printing some junk on the dock and calling it special doesn’t really do it for me.
I put a 200GB card in my switch when I bought it at launch and I still have plenty of room. I’m glad to see the prices on these going down. Hopefully if I get low on room the 400 or greater cards will be even lower by then.
@HammerKirby right now to me Nintendo’s online service seems more of a retro game service than for online play. There just doesn’t seem to be that many games that will utilize it. At least it’s cheap.
I definitely think Nintendo has milked the NES cow dry, especially after releasing the NES Classic mini. I love playing some of the NES games but I feel like they are pushing the NES games and neglecting everything else. It’s time to start seeing everything from SNES to GameCube coming.
@BigKing Na these games are Nintendo’s bread and butter. It’s those games that sell systems. They will eventually see a price drop and be on the shelf with the other Nintendo Selects.
For what it is I’m perfectly happy with the game. I’m glad they went with a fixed cost and I wish all mobile games were fixed. I’d play many more of them. I’ve also spent a lot more time in the remix 10 mode of the game.
@thesilverbrick agree with you, simply an example of the devs/publisher offloading cost to the gamer. Can’t stand a physical release that really isn’t. Can’t play the game without a large download.
@Nico07 yea I always end up starting over with the new season but I wouldn’t want two versions. I have a really tricked out gaming pc that I play on and the switch would be awesome to pick up and hit some Diablo on the go but I’d want to be able to work on the same characters. They said it may be something they add, if they do I’ll get it 100%, I’ve been a hardcore diablo fan since the first game. My friend and I used to connect to each other back in 97’ via modem and play together. Good times!
