News on Gods and Monsters would be great. Always have low expectations with Ubisoft but you never know.
I am expecting Imagine & Petz series return on Switch.
Would love to see a Mario + Rabbids sequel, but keeping my expectations super low.
Maybe Beyond Good & Evil HD to pop up on the eshop. That'd be cool.
@Perryg92 Would love a Rabbids 2!
The Ubisoft ‘con’-ference.
Mario Rabbids 2 woukd be nice.
@illmatic20xx was about to come here to say that.
Mario Rabbids 2 would be amazing.
Wish they release something else exclusive for the Switch as well.
I remember they made an AC exclusive for the PS Vita.
It would be good to have something like that only for the Switch.
Apart from Gods and Monsters is there a realistic expectation of more switch games?
Far cry 6 was also “leaked” the other day. Should be making an appearance...
Look, I’ve been wanting a new Splinter Cell game for years. They better not tease “Sam Fisher” for the third year in a row, only to have him actually be in a Ghost Recon game.
New Mario and rabbids would be a cool birthday present 😀
Mario rabbids would be great.
If anything the Switch will most likely just get some throwaway games while the other platforms will get the real meat and potatoes.
I will always hold a special place in my heart of hope for a return of Ghost Recon Phantoms. RIP
A full star fox game could work.
Would like something Rayman related. Also hoping Rabbids Adventure Party gets localised 🤞
Red Steel 3, anyone?? Zombi 2?? God's & Monsters' new trailer and release date?? Assassin's Creed: Ezio Collection?? A new Prince of Persia?? Another Rayman game??
I don't want to get hyped, though. It's Ubisoft we are talking about here.
A new Trackmania on Switch would be a dream come true for me. I love that series! (although the most recent one--Turbo--was a little disappointing).
I think it's time for the Origins/Legends style of Rayman to go full 3D.
A modernised and original 3D Rayman Platformer - Let's hope.
I would kill for another Rayman game. Seriously some of the best platforming I’ve ever seen.
Hoping for another surprise Ubi loves Nintendo game, but I'm not sure we'll get it.
Hoping for gods & monsters, new rayman game. Maybe finally beyond good & evil 2?
3D Rayman Let's Go!
Will Just Dance 2021 be on the Wii? This is life’s most pressing question at the moment and the sole reason to pay attention to this presentation.
More BEYOND GOOD & EVIL 2 footage and info. More GODS & MONSTERS. But, TBH, I just really want a new PRINCE OF PERSIA; or at the very least the Sands of Time trilogy on Switch.
Wonder if NLife will comment on the 3 different execs being ousted over sexual harassment. Push Square already did.
@the_beaver
I don't know, man. Ubisoft has had a couple great presentations over the last several years. I am pretty excited. A new RED STEEL for Switch would be a huge surprise. And it is definitely time for a new POP.
I've seen enough Ubisoft conferences/shows to know that it's not worth wasting my time watching live.
If there's an exciting (lol, unlikely as this is Ubisoft) announcement for Nintendo then I'll just check it out once the news drops.
@Nookingtons just to add, every game will have the same mechanics and engine.
@Anti-Matter that would be the ultimate reveal
@tanaka2687 yeah that's probably the most interesting game they have made in years. Even though it looks like a carbon copy of Breath of the Wild lol which says a lot about how I view their games.
No idea what time this is on, can we have the time in GMT please?
Beyond Good and Evil 2 news would be cool, but I also am not crazy about what that game has turned into.
Typo Alert: The listed time for the Pre-show for the Pacific Region (PT) should show as 11AM, not 11pm, unless of course the Pre-show takes place 11 hours after the Main show...
Spoiler we gonna get new Just Dance and dat copypaste zelda game for switch. Thats it.
@nessisonett,
They could, however they have obligation to do so, I would rather a Nintendo gaming site just stick to related articles, and let the mainstream press cover the heavy stuff, just a personal opinion however.
Gods and Monsters please, looking forward to this one immensely
I'm not sure with what's going on at Ubisoft that there will ever be another Nintendo tie in.
I think we need a big western publisher to take a risk on a decent big budget game made with the Switch hardware in mind, there is a massive user base ready and waiting, and if I am being honest from the western side I would look at Ubisoft to do this, they were helped by Nintendo letting them use the Mario IP and this got a good game with pretty decent sales.
Of course the biggest issues all third party developers have is going up against Nintendo's first party offerings, but until someone gives it a go we will never know if it's a lost cause or not.
Thanks for the reminder Liam!
Tempting as it'll be to watch, my plans are to get some fresh air then since it isn't too blah outside today. I'm sure if anything of note is coming to the Switch, I'll catch the news after the fact.
Must be a rough time to put on a presentation like this.
@Dethmunk That thought crossed my mind, as well.
A new 3D Rayman would be great. Rayman 2 on the Dreamcast is one of the best 3D platformers I've ever played and still to this day, the only Ubisoft game I can genuinely say I loved.
I just hope that the Scott Pilgrim tease comes to something. Other than that, PoP, classic style AC, and Rayman would all get me excited.
@Dark_Magician Oh heck yeah! Too bad it’ll probably not happen... but who knows?
it's a long shot but Prince of Persia Remaster Collection
My hope list:
A Splinter Cell game or the older HD collection on Switch, or;
A Star Fox game
Not counting on it though. But I’ll watch and see what happens, there’s gotta be something I’ll be interested in!
@the_beaver omg, red steel! With the style of the first one. That would be awesome! That and Mario + Rabits 2.
I am crossing my fingers for the next big Switch title from Ubisoft, but although Mario + Rabbids did the business, Starlink misfired. So I’d expect them to be cautious with that.
I understand the next Mario + Rabbids is a little way away.
I will try and catch some of it. if nothing else for the free copy of watch dogs 2.
I wouldn't object to some remasters of older games, specifically the Prince of Persia games (the trilogy and later since I enjoyed all of them for what the were), Beyond Good and Evil, and the Raving Rabbid games since my wife enjoyed the Wii era ones.
I'm hoping for a Donkey Kong-Rayman crossover game. It will never happen, but it would be a treat!
I would like to see a Donkey Kong + Rabbits game since we may not have a new Donkey Kong Country game. At least not until Retro Studios complete Metroid Prime 4. Would like to see Diddy, Dixie and Cranky being playable and Beep-0 due to his/her personality.
Tom Clancy's Smash Bros.
What a waste of time. Nothing for the Switch.
And all the other games were leaked so not a single surprise.
This was an worthless show to be honest. Two mobile games , and 3 games that aren't coming to switch. Seriously this was an waste of time to watch
Well I hope someone liked what they had to offer.
But for me... absolutely nothing I'd care to play... my backlog beckons.
No Prince of Persia, No Splinter Cell , No Beyond Good Evil 2 ? Just another copy paste assasins creed and far cry . Nice job Ubi.
I'm soo disappointed nothing of God's and monsters were shown... nothing for the Switch... 😭
like many commenting now, what a waste of my time! So disappointing and feels like this article was pointless for switch owners!
There’s a lot of blood in Ubisoft games. And a lot about terrorists (splinter cell games) and uprising (watch dogs, and now far cry). Franchises not appealing to me at all...
Add to that the yearly update to Trials Rising, Just Dance, Brawlhalla and every year the show feels exactly the same.
Gods and Monsters and Roller Champions at least felt different last year. But they weren’t present at all... Too bad
Nothing for you? Don’t you guys have phones?!!
The Ubi games all look very slick, very well made, very violent and very much of a muchness. I’m sure every one of them is decent - I thought Watch Dogs in London looked pretty cool - but I don’t really care about any of them. And they aren’t coming to Switch anyway, so...
I was really hoping for a new Rayman. Something to celebrate his 25th this year. And still no confirmation on the rumoured Scott pilgrim rerelease. Expectations where already low so was wasn't to bummed
Wow! How underwhelming.
For Switch owners, that was about as bad as it could possibly get.
Just Dance DLC
Trials DLC
Brawlhalla crossplay with mobile
I think even the most pessimistic among us, expected more than that. Shocking poor!
They didn't even announce Just Dance. What the hell Ubisoft ?
Tbh, I don't bother following Activision, Ubisoft or EA (or 2K for that matter.) Anything that they do announce, I am obviously at the very least interested, but as a Switch owner, watching their presentations is a monumental waste of time. Has been from day one to be honest. Looks like I didn't miss anything (as usual, which is a shame.)
I had low expectations. Ubisoft managed to go below them; that takes some doing.
@graysoncharles You're right. I guess I'm just being bitter. However as with a lot of these 'presentations' by these companies the Switch often feels like the redheaded step child.
AC has gotten progressively worse since about Black Flag. That's a franchise that needs to go on a long break.
LOL... That was a bit of a bust, if you were looking to get the free game. Uplay was locked up massively, then when you got IN, you couldn't load things half the time, and when you finally DID get into the video from Uplay...the free download is disabled due to "high demand". LOL
And they didn't even mention the ONE game I was most interested in seeing more of: Gods & Monsters. It was pretty much mobile games, and a couple of big console games not coming to Switch. lol...
@Highlar GODS AND MONSTERS 😥😥😥 there has been nothing in over a year for a game that was due feb 2020. There has been no news or any kind of update which is odd.
Hardly surprising. Ubisoft has very little interest in the Switch these days.
I know people seem to be optimistic that given the install base games are going to come. In the end Ubisoft made EA look great. That's pathetic. So I'm just going to assume from now out the system is a indie and first party machine basically ignored by the big third parties. That isn't great however you look at it.
Just Dance 2021 ?? 🤨
It doesn't look interesting at all.
Dance Dance Revolution A20+ looks much much better in gameplay and music list than Just Dance in my opinion.
So there was no Switch news at the presentation. In fact, Ubisoft didn't announce a single new game at the conference.
Ubisoft did announce another Forward presentation scheduled for later on the year, so that's probably where they will debut Just Dance 2021, new God's & Monsters info, and actual new announcements.
@GrailUK A while ago, there was a rumor EA will port pvz garden warfare to Switch. So all I’m really hoping for is just that.
@Patendo "Gods & Monsters" has gone through significant changes. I believe to the point that they're even going to change its name. I believe Ubisoft mentioned this not long ago after those gameplay leaks came out (about a month ago?)
They also said they'd share information regarding this title in "late summer" so I'm guessing late August.
I'm right there with you: I can't wait to see more! It has been one of my most anticipated Ubi games!
A very typical Ubisoft presentation, so take that as you will.
Still hoping that a new Rayman and Mario+Rabbids are in the works.. Gods and Monsters has potential, hopefully that one turns out well.
@mr12calvin Oh, I thought that got confirmed.
@JokerCK they did a tidbit in the preshow
So nothing good for the switch then...
Their support is pretty non existent apart from the yearly just dance which should really be dlc
@Anti-Matter I think youre on your own there pal
@mr12calvin apparantly battle for Neighborville is coming within a year
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/06/here_are_the_seven_ea_games_reportedly_coming_to_switch_in_the_next_year1
@sixrings I have to agree especially with next gen consoles round the corner, these big third party developers will be concentrating on them. Nintendo need to up their game and release atleast 1 first party game a month
@sixrings it is even starting to annoy me, a gamer with a massive heart for nintendo, that every conference you see games and you ask the question: will that be coming to switch? Even though the answer almost always is no.
Xbox and Playstation never have to ask that question. They know that if it’s not a Nintendo conference, the game is coming to their platform.
I might even buy a series x this holiday for the sake of 3d party stuff. (And the very obvious fable and banjo kazooie reboots that are 100% coming (crosses fingers even harder))
@kingbk there’s a black flag in animal crossing?
@Friendly So... that was an official announcement?
I hope to see an actual trailer for Switch and a real announcement.
It ain’t no fun to just drop stuff without announcement or any further information
Looks like I didn't miss much of anything
I didn't have any hops, and still I was disappointed
Why did they even bother hosting a video? This should’ve just been a press release on their website. What a waste of everyone’s time.
3 more years till a switch two. Awesome.
Another example of nonexistent 3rd party support on Switch.
Every other platform is swimming in big new AAA games. Even the garbage failure that is Stadia getting more support than Switch 🤦♂️
Care about AC Valhalla - that if it plays and looks like Odyssey is already 10X better than playing archaic AC3 on Switch. And a new FarCry. Having both sure beats having Nothing.
Glad I forgot and didn't watch, then...
@Friendly I'm thinking of buying the Series X too and just subscribing to Gamepass. I'll buy the next Nintendo console solely for 1st party games and exclusives, while Gamepass will keep me covered for everything else. This approach will probably save me a fair bit in the long run.
@MarioBrickLayer
Honestly not sure why they don't release Far Cry 3 or 4 on the Switch or Assassin's Creed Syndicate
From the comments, I'm glad I didn't watch this.
@Perryg92 I am absolutely ready for Hyrule Rabbids. Soliani has wanted to do a Zelda game for years and Mario + Rabbids was so good that he's an honorary Nintendo employee. Maybe someday...
I mean, Watch Dogs looks cool
Nothing that interests me. Shame. Ubisoft giving Nintendo gamers the C-game at best here. Lame.
None of these titles seemed the least bit interesting...
@OorWullie pretty much how I do it now. I have my Switch for first parties and Indies and.my Xbox One S (a dirt cheap refurb I bought last year) for Game Pass and the odd AAA. I'll probably get the rumoured Series S next gen and whatever Switch upgrade comes.along eventually..
Asassin creed valhalla will be a game id buy for my pc.
Also the update in 2 days for Ghost recon breakpoint, being able to use team mates again as Wildlands had.
GR breakpoint i enjoy that game a lot. Switch needs some games like that.
I usually like about half of the Ubisoft conference each year, but I was genuinely impressed and I think I will try out all those games they shared during the Forward event.
@Friendly this is why I bought a PS4 last year. I was tired of being a Nintendo only gamer. All the switch let me do up until that point was finally play Skyrim
Yikes, this was rough for the Nintendo community! It does make me a bit concerned for the future of third party Switch support. To be fair, I wouldn't want Valhalla on my Switch anyway, but I do hope they'll continue putting out Mario + Rabbids sort of games.
@SwitchVogel,
Those third party games never sell on the Switch anyway so not much of a loss, it's only the core minorities that are unhappy they never get revealed, and it's the same minorities that moan about the performance when a triple AAA multi platform is eventually announced for the console.
Nintendo need to concentrate on their own first party offerings as that is what pushes the Switch sales, and keeping the indie developers happy.
Hmm.... Maybe they have reserved the "nintendo exclusives" like Mario Rabbids for the supposed Nintendo direct. It's too soon to protest.
Both this and Devolver Digitals presentations I found barely watchable.
OOT Violence and being 'crazy' and 'mad' for the sake of it. I just wanted them to pause that nonsense for a moment, talk to us like balanced human beings and show at least one beautiful, bright and fun game that all the family could get behind. I'm not per-say against horror/depravity/violence/crime in video games but if that's all you have to show without at least some 'softer' elements - then it's just like watching 20 minutes to an hour of a high-pitched uncomfortable scream.
I'm just a bit sick of so many companies outside Nintendo having that one pitch a lot of the time. Especially the Devolver presentation was literally too uncomfortable to watch and I was just skipping to catch gameplay footage. It actually made me feel sick, whereas Ubisofts presentation was so monotone it was just making me want to end the day and get an early night sleep.
Of particular note was when they bothered to talk to one of the scene designers who was excited to tell us we may or may not find a 'boat full of cats' as an Easter Egg in either Watchdogs or AC (I forget which). I mean seriously ... is that what we've come down to now?
Very uninspired stuff. Outside a few companies like Nintendo, this has been a shocking reminder that the games industry isn't evolving much.
The Origami King looks all the more appealing in contrast with the rest of the industries offerings at this time.
I half expected a blacklist switch port 😆
How thoroughly underwhelming.
Even the stuff for the mainstream consoles seemed poor, another watchdogs and Far cry game, and some other games, I don't think we are missing out on much.
I change my mind on one of my previous posts, I think it would have more interesting if they had mentioned the sexual harassment claims.
@Old_Man_Nintendo
They doesn’t care anymore for switch they eyes are only for the next gen
@kingbk To be fair, it did go on a big break and then they brought out Origins, which was very different to previous games. Even Odyssey came out two years ago, so it’s not like they’re an annual franchise. Odyssey was more of a refinement, but very much an improvement. Both are widely considered to be great games that significantly advanced the AC series. Everyone is allowed an opinion though, but out of interest, did you play AC Origins or Odyssey (the last one was one of my favourite games in a long time - so much so that AC Valhalla is one of my most anticipated games this year).
Very lackluster with regards to the Switch!
@brunojenso I 100% agree.
The only things that are evolving are the names in the roster (FIFA, EA), the amount of sweat on the faces of the players (NBA 2K) and the quantity of pixels of blood (Activision and now Ubisoft). About the Ubisoft presentation: It's all looking so, so grim... why do so many games have to involve violence?
That's the reason I stick with Nintendo, since those games are just aimed at giving happy thoughts. If I want violence, death and destruction I just turn on the news. Besides Nintendo games: JRPG's (Square, Atlus) for the stories, Indies for the creativity. Blizzard used to be part of that list, but sadly not anymore.
So this has gone down like a bucket of cold sick everywhere then. Personally I think the new Watch Dogs looked pretty good but I may be in a minority judging by the reaction.
@Perryg92 Beyond Good and Evil HD would be amazing. It was already done for the 360 and PS3 so it wouldnt be expensive or resource intensive. We should do a petition
@electrolite77,
Watchdogs has always been an interesting concept, let down by it's application, the new one looks o.k, just expected more from them.
@Scoopz,
Did the new one ever come out?, I have not been following it that much?.
No doubt in my mind that 2021 and foward the switch will be a first party machine, it’s just sad that even Nintendo is having a hard time supporting it in 2020
@johnvboy Not yet unfortunately. Was hoping for updates in this streamed presentation. Itll never come to Switch. But the least Ubisoft could do is release the 1st game on Switch in HD
@ anyone who has Uplay account, dont forget you free copy of watchdogs 2 in the couple days, they gave it as a prize, bit something went wrong ao everyone with a Uplay account will receive it for free.
Nintendo Switch will have 3rd party titles the same way it did until today.
We'll have cases like The Witcher 3, The Outer Worlds (complicated ports), some digital-only releases like Hellblade, GRID... cash grab ports like Burnout...
Even with PS5/XBSX, companies will still release their games to PS4/XB1/PC... All the games considered a huge success will have their "lowest settings version" ported to Switch.
Gods and Monsters are a very good example of this: People claiming for this game because it looks like Breath of the Wild only!
(And complaining about switch exclusive Deadly Premonition 2 framerate, WWE 2k Battlegrounds style, Burnout price, TOW not good as TW3 port...)
No Gods and Monsters and it is unclear whether the announced battle royale will come to switch. I guess Ubisoft doesn’t want my money
@nessisonett I do hope they will. I mean, the main reason this kind of thing can last for so long is no-one talks about it, so…
I feel uncomfortable that this article was published without any reference to the sexual assault and cover-up allegations backdrop against which this Ubisoft marketing event took place.
There’s only one company that bores me as much as EA, and that is Ubisoft.
Far Cry, AC Valhalla, and Watch Dogs all looked fantastic.
Can't say I care about anything thats on Switch from them here
@Krull I’m sure many people have phones, it’s just that most gamers don’t like mobile games
So, all what Ubisoft showed for Nintendo Switch was basically...
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RrfJwbMLLlo
‘‘Twas very bad
Hard pass. The event overall was very disappointing. There wasn't any Far Cry 6 gameplay, nor did the new Assassin's Creed impress at all and Watch Dogs... I think I'm done with anything new from Ubisoft.
@TheAwesomeBowser I would be all over a new Rayman. As much as I love Mario, Rayman is so much better than NSMBU.
@BirdBoy16 Ah, I think you missed the reference! This was more or less the infamous comeback by Blizzard when they got booed - at BlizzCon, no less - for making their final big reveal a Diablo mobile game, when everybody had been hoping for Diablo 4. It was a spectacular miscue.
Ubisoft is one of the worst Switch publishers.
Bethesda gives us Doom and Wolfy.
2K gives us Bioshock, Xcom, etc..
Ubisoft gives us more dancing, some lower profile titles, but not Ghost Recon, No Far Cry, no Asscreed.
Pathetic.
They didn't have anything they haven't regurgitated countless times in some form or fashion, and nothing they showed remotely interests me personally. It's a shame that they and Nintendo have never revisited Mario & Rabbids; that's one IP I definitely would have had an interest in playing again.
Not a bad presentation, but light on games...the whole thing was mostly about their online shooter franchises. AC: Vikings looks like a good game, but doesn't look like an AC game at all...we're back to III with flat terrain and minimal stealth. Seems mostly like a combat game. In its own right it looks like it's a good game that fully realizes what For Honor wanted to be but isn't, finally....which is great. But it shouldn't have been called AC. It makes a good game seem worse by not being the game the series is supposed to be.
Far Cry 6 looks pretty good....finally an interesting environment fit for the series and a villain who's not bat-stuff insane....he's nefarious but has purpose and is reasoned. I really couldn't stand FC5...the whole theme was absurd, and the attempt to bridge supernatural horror themes into a completely unrealistic military-religious-cult takeover of most of a US state was just bizarre and not what makes Farcry fun, though it probably tried to appeal to the FarCry1 crowd that was used to werewolf zombie things from a lab.
Watch Dogs Legion was their highlight last year and remains their highlight this year. That looks like the high-tech Assassin's Creed/Hitman crossover I never knew I needed.
@EVIL-C Uhm....Ubisoft did give us Assassin's Creed....yes, last gen AC, just like 2K did with Bioshock, Xcom etc. And they gave us Mario + Rabbids, one of the best TRPGs as an exclusive...which 2K has not done.
But yeah, this presentation didn't include much for Switch. Then again this presentation didn't include much in general....mostly online shooters, and largely DLCs and "thank you for making last season great" promos. Ubi didn't really reveal much in this presentation for any platform fan....but teased that another presentation is coming. I'm sure that's where the BG&E2, G&M and so forth info is....probably closer to the holidays.
@NEStalgia I meant current gen AC titles. There are zero.
The Rabbids game was good, but that was 1 game, which is now a few years old.
2K did release Civ 6, which at least was a new, current gen title.
Ubisoft is terrible on Switch.
@EVIL-C Well they gave Trials, as well. That was current gen. I can't see how running Origins onward would be physically possible on a Switch....so I can't fault that. Maybe a port of Watchdogs 2 would have worked by they seem keen to move on from old ports outside AC.
When I look at Ubi's overall lineup, AC and W_D aside, all I see are online shooter, online shooter, online shooter, online shooter, online brawler, online shooter. They've really tooled their ecosystem around the whole always connected and logged in thing. It's a little sad to watch. Ubi is one of the more creative studios out there that takes risks. But their whole design model how is massive real-time open worlds on one hand, which is a bad fit for Switch, and big totally seamlessly online environments, which both sucks, and is impossible on Switch, really.
So I get it....in a way Ubi sucks on Switch just due to the types of games they're designing now. But I also see them stuck in a few ruts that I can see them having to bring some smaller projects out to tackle. Their worlds are getting unweidly...so big and open it's hard to not get bored wandering them. I want to see some more focused experiences from them again. They are good at that but rarely do it anymore.
@graysoncharles Yeah, that's really depressing. I started in on Odyssey but never completed it. Origins went hard into the "back to basics" stealth approach and I loved it but haven't yet finished it. I started in on Odyssey, and it SEEMED like it was going to be better again....but maybe not. I just want my stealth assassin series to be, you know....a stealth assassin series. Not a combat brawler where you're supposedly a hidden assassin that spends their time storming keeps with an army....
@Krull oh sorry! See I’m not really much of a Blizzard guy so I don’t watch a lot Blizzard related stuff!
Really? 6 songs for Just Dance? They would have made a killing on that subscription model if they would have put the songs from Trolls and Trolls World Tour on there!
Please port Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection to Nintendo Switch Ubisoft!
Poor switch, if you can play on PC, Xbox or PS4 is the best way to enjoy fresh games... i love my Switch, but he is on another level
@NEStalgia Rabbids and The Division use the same engine; Snowdrop. As does Starlink, South Park, and a few others. Now unless someone can give detailed specifics as to why something like The Division won't work (using the same engine as Rabbids) yet something like Doom Eternal And Wolfenstein can, in my mind if the will is there, it could be done.
No question Ubisoft is in a creative rut. I'm not even a fan of their games, cause they just keep rehashing the same series' and design choices; Open world, shootie pew pew.
@EVIL-C The Division does. AC does not. However, The Division is an always-online shared world open world shooter. Whatever it's running on needs a CPU and memory availability to keep up. It seems unlikely that Switch does, but even if it does - if you had a game based on always-online shared world, and you saw Switch with it's portability and user base frequently on dodgy wifi connections (as the ubiquitous Splatoon meme of "Connection unstable" demonstrates, to the point Sakurai asked players to purchase the LAN adapter for Smash), would you put that game on Switch even if it could run? If I were managing the project I'd recommend against that as a bad fit that could be frustrating. Same thing that happened to Steep.
There's always two questions. Can it run on the platform? AC I'd guess no. Division2....probably not, but maybe. But also, "Would it be a great experience?" With an always on shooter....probably not...it kills half of what makes Switch great.
But yeah, they're "the open world company" now..but their worlds have become less interesting and more "sandbox to eff around with stuff in" which I find boring but seems to the the pinnacle of western design now. I still believe AC1 was the best AC....I keep wanting a proper game in that vein. And it started as a Prince of Persia game.
When I look at Ubis portfolio, if it were my call, I can't see any of the current Clancy games going to Switch...just the wrong game for the wrong hardware and the wrong audience. They 're vying for "engagement time" like mobile games are.
AC is AC...good series, good fit for switch, but not suited for this gen hardware (expect ports of current gen AC next gen Nintendo hardware) Same for watch dogs.
Their "outside the box" games were missing from this presentation, but we know there's another presentation coming now, and honestly the games most people wanted from them weren't here this time. BG&E2 probably can't run on Swtich. I'm not convinced it'll even be a great game yet. G&M is literaly BotW art style....I wouldn't doubt a Switch inclusion there.
Ubisoft's offerings for the most part don't interest me much anymore. I love their older AC games, Rayman, and really was pleasantly surprised with Starlink and Mario+Rabbids, for good reasons.
Gods and Monsters looks good, and I wish they would have talked about it, but the other games, which aren't even coming to the Switch, I don't have much interest in.
Hopefully the next ubisoft forward this year will be good.
Simple Ubisoft has gone down the tubes
@rockodoodle NSMBU is perhaps my least favorite Nintendo franchise at the moment, and this coming from someone who doesn't play Pokemon or Animal Crossing. It is slightly above mobile gaming in quality.
Outside of Mario Maker/Mario Maker 2, the last 2-D Mario that was innovative was Mario World on the SNES. I'd love another high quality 2-D Mario, but NSMBU prints money for Nintendo, so I doubt we'll get something outside of that.
I'll never understand why any of these companies even bother filling time with news about mobile games. Sure, it's a growing market, but who is coming to E3 or dedicated game news streams to hear about that? Just give 'em their own stream or video like FEH Channel! Don't waste our time making us think it's a new (console/PC) game only for it to be some gacha or moba garbage!
I want to post something but im afraid my posts will be deleted again without an explanation. Wwhat iii ii fff i say the wrong thing again?!
@BRAINFOX True. I think no one at UBI watched that Blizzcon where the mobile diablo was announced.
Not going to lie, Ubisoft have progressively gotten worse each year for games in my opinion. Used to enjoy the odd Ubi game, but they are so generic. Division 2 and Breakpoint were all time lows that I simply didn't enjoy. Last Ubi game I honestly enjoyed was Splinter cell Blacklist, and before that Rayman and GR Future soldier. Would love a tactical Rainbow game again, Siege's lack of doors is like a training exercise. Also a sequel to GR shadow wars would fit mobile or Switch well.
Meh. Ubisoft lost me the other year with their woke interview propaganda/commercials. I'll pay for a [good] game if they make another one.
Wait only three games for switch? Wow, they really do not like money
This was like the worst Nintendo direct ever.
No Valhalla, disappointing
Absolutely nothing of interest at all, even if I owned another console or a PC. Nothing that would make me want another device either. So many dull, dull games out there across the board. Skimmed through the video going nope, nope nope, nope....
