Chanteuse, mother, and Dirrty singer Christina Aguilera has done another trailer for the Nintendo Switch OLED after her last one — which showcased a bunch of family games — and although her kids still feature prominently in this one, the games are a little more exciting.
First, Ms Aguilera plays the (not-yet-released!) Pokémon Legends: Arceus with her young daughter, who rides around on the new Wyrdeer and catches a Pokémon with one of those new/old Apricorn Balls. We could do a deep-dive analysis on the footage, but... well, it's most likely been added in in post, although we do know that they did actually play the game.
Then, she moves on to Among Us with her older teenage son, and — spoilers — it's Christina herself who's the impostor. Luckily, she gets caught out and kicked into the void of space.
Then her sister and family turn up, and they play their "favourite" — Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's hard not to read their "how many times do you think we must have played this game?" quip as a dig at Nintendo themselves, for taking so long on the next Mario Kart instalment... but it's probably not meant that way, eh?
As a reminder, Pokémon Legends: Arceus is due out on 28th January. That's just a few short weeks!
Are you jealous of Christina's young daughter? Would you want to play a round of Among Us with the woman who was the childhood crush of so many of us? Let us know in the comments.

Q : Are you jealous of Christina's young daughter?
Me : Ah, no. I will get the game very late as my gaming hype currently is on other machines (PS3, PS4, 3DS, PS2, etc).
Hyped hyped hyped!
This barely qualifies as news.
My hype for Arceus is basically not existent after how boring the gameplay shown has been.
Less make-up, please!
@Silly_G She can wear however much makeup she wants. I really don’t get why it matters how a woman presents herself.
I really miss the days commercials had to be a bit more creative to sell a product than to rely on celebrity idolization to make the hook for a sale. The GBA ones were still some of the best examples. Now just put "Pop Singer No. 19" or "Rap Star No. 7" in front of a TV playing pretendo and suddenly much sales.
My sons really excited for this game. Game looks great and I’m sure he’ll enjoy it
@Savage_Joe Living up to your name I see (this is a joke, please don't take it seriously).
@nessisonett : It doesn't, but it looks silly in a slice-of-life style ad that supposedly depicts a normal day around the house, and even more so because she would still look a million bucks without it.
And I don't appreciate the insinuation that my comment was somehow laced with sexist intentions when it was intended to serve as a compliment to the beauty that she already possesses. My comment had nothing to do with her sex.
I always liked Christina as a singer, anyways I'm looking forward to this game.
@nessisonett PowerPoint. I mean, word.
@Silly_G i was agreeing with nessisonett but actually that's a good point too.
Cresselina Poliwaguilera? I am as impressed as my brain is broken reading that.
Haven't gotten far on my other current Diamond/Pearl other then the ghost Pokémon caught at the windmills.
NintendoLife created an article about this last month, just saying.
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2021/12/random-nintendo-has-already-let-one-celebrity-play-pokemon-legends-arceus
I'd be a lot more hyped for Arceus if I wasn't already playing Diamond/Pearl with the kids. I know they are clearly different Pokemon games... but I am still struggling to understand why they've decided to release them 2 months apart. I can't be the only person that's passing on Arceus day one due to this reason.
Looking forward to the reviews in any case, and will pick it up at some point... although the way 2022 is shaping up, I can honestly see myself forgetting all about it!
That video is just the worst - not as bad as that really dreadful Arceus trailer they released the other week, but a close second. Not liking all the bad trailers/ads this game is getting... it's making me nervous.
It still looks... bland and meh imo
@Wakkawipeout
Crustleina Marowakiera
It's time to cut the nails though. Real gamers don't sport mole claws.
You tell by the barometric reading vis a vis the way the Joy Cons react to a southwesterly shift that they were in fact playing the game.
So there are still people out there that buy stuff, because an ad with a celebrity made them, instead of buying something because it is a good product?
Oh well, I am probably the minority that finds this strange...
What is that texture stutter at 0:09? Seconding that arceus is looking pretty underwhelming
@Snaplocket Well, she actually did play the game, but this isn't the instance where she did. I think they probably recorded her playing the game when she was able to have a hands-on session, and they probably superimposed the footage on the system here.
@Rayquaza2510 Yeah, some people only buy stuff because celebrities endorse the product... however, I still feel like Arceus is probably going to be an alright game.
Cresselina Poliwaguilera might be your magnum opus, Kate.
@Suburbs
It's something rendering in. The game seems to have a short draw/render distance.
@Snaplocket Her joycon must be drifting.
LOVE X-tina and love the ad. Classic old school Ninty promo hitting Gen-X and Gen-Z and bringing that family vibe. People these days are always up for negging on anything positive but I think the Nintendo community are better than that.
I call shenanigans those were stunt hands!!
@Snaplocket I'm pretty sure her mother said something about actually getting hands on with the game itself.
Yah more X-Tina! Hot mom!
@Silly_G
I mean, it’s just a weird thing to say in all honesty. If she’s happy with the way she looks, what is it to you?
@Phostachio People make observations, I'm sure you do too when you're not busy white-knighting on the internet. Too much makeup is a valid observation, her feelings will be totally fine believe me.
While it is a bit sexist to comment on Christina's appearance, I bet she's filthy.
I’m jealous of her fleaked out 💅 and fire lippy.
@Silly_G I think she’s gorgeous with or without makeup. <3 But yeah, realistically, Christina would probably look more casual hanging at home if this wasn’t a commercial.
@Phostachio : My mistake. Next time I feel like expressing an innocuously-intentioned point of view, I’ll be sure to ask for your blessing and whether you wish to arbitrate any amendments lest I ever express another opinion without unanimous approval from every human, animal, and microbe in existence.
Whatever, she's still hot
Please do not be sexist, objectify her and comment on her appearance. When she sang "I'm a genie in a bottle, baby Gotta rub me the right way, honey" I respected her as an artist and only thought about rubbing her lamp in a platonic friend-like way. I never think about her appearance when looking at her modelling pics either.
I see Christina is looking out for her future here, bringing the kids in to help bring in new work! In the past I don't think Nintendo would of used someone like her to promote their products.
This site is struggling and its amazing how grown men will insult anyone if they play Pokémon before them.
@SpaceboyScreams Lmao, the term “white knighting” will never not be funny to me. I don’t what’s funnier, complaining about the way a woman looks on the Internet who doesn’t know you or gives one iota about your opinion or defending people who do. She’s certainly not thinking “I wonder what the folks on Nintendo Life are thinking about the amount of makeup I used for this Nintendo ad”, so the critique “less makeup please” falls on deaf ears and serves no purpose but to, yes, make the guy look a little sexist.
I am so proud of christina for being able to emote to her children. It must be really hard to generate any legible facial expressions. She probably also needs to get her hair really platinum, because if her roots grow out, her kids would probably think they were being haunted by Michael Jackson.
