Re: Review: Dragon Quest Treasures - A Trove Of JRPG Goodness, Perfect For Beginners

@HolyYoshi i would recommend due to its unique combat system and interesting characters. It does feel like a budget title however, so i would probably get it on sale.

It felt like the devs were experimenting with this game, so the combat can be easily exploited and easy to beat. Fun nonetheless. But i feel like a sequel would hopefully iterate and improve the system and all around make a better game.

Re: Nintendo Hacker Gary Bowser Has Been Released From Prison

@LastFootnote disagree. No severe consequences leads to continuous crime. Most criminals will continue their ways if the punishment was negligible.

This person in particular, he pretty much has a second chance to live a quiet and modest life for the rest of his days or risk getting caught again and live the rest of his days in suffering. That’s his incentive right there.

@Nanami_Ataraxia there is an auto map function I think. Personally, I found drawing maps to be fun and calming. I thought it was silly at first, but I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it.

There isn’t much story and character development in these games also. It depends on the player’s imagination to create personalities and interactions with the characters that you create. Something to consider.

Cereza is really good. Hopefully more people will give it a chance when it goes on sale.

Not really a big Bayonetta fan, but I found the presentation and story telling in Cereza intriguing that drew me in. The gameplay is interesting / different and I found it fun and engaging. I also like puzzles and I found them designed very well.

Re: Video: What Were Your Top Five Switch Games Of 2022?

shining_nexus

Can’t fit them all, but these are my top 5 memorable ones for 2022.

Triangle Strategy
Pokémon Legend Arceus
Splatoon 3
Kirby Forgotten Land
Fire Emblem Three Hopes

Lots more great games played this year for sure, but I’ll leave it at that and still haven’t played games like Xenoblade 3, Persona 5, SMT5, etc. Those will probably make it into next years list. Triangle Strategy definitely game of the year for me.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2022 - Our Most Played Games

Overwatch 2, Animal Crossing, Triangle Strategy

OW2 and ACNH will always be on top since they’re mainstays for me, but I’m disappointed in the lack of RPGs, which is my favorite genre. Going to make it a mission next year to complete more RPGs and metroidvanias despite my busy lifestyle. Will just have to game on my Switch whenever I have some spare time.

Triangle Strategy game of the year for me. Awesome game.

i personally like to browse the eshop and purchase unknown dollar games. It’s like having a toy box and just playing with random toys that look fun. sometimes i find hidden gems and sometimes i find stinkers, which i still manage to find some fun with honestly. I guess it’s the wonderment of playing a mystery video game and finding fun in it that excites me.

I did find Exorder kinda fun and i don’t mind spending a few hours with it.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 19th)

shining_nexus

On vacation this week, so lots of gaming! Pokémon Scarlet has been surprisingly addicting and fun, despite the performance issues. Will probably sink a lot of time into that along with DioField.

Other then those games, will continue my holiday play through of Mario Galaxy and Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon.

Happy gaming.

Re: Nintendo Switch Sports Ad Tees Up Golf For November Release Date

@R_is_KC those games are helping me get through my anxiety with a variety of fun ways to stay physically active, along with my regular daily exercises. Even Pikmin Bloom has made running outside a little more fun. I appreciate these kind of games and the weird fun experiences that Nintendo creates.

Looking forward to trying golf and hoping for some more games like baseball and basketball.

Re: Review: Overwatch 2 - Solid F2P Shooting That Doesn't Yet Justify The '2'

shining_nexus

Overwatch 2 is missing its PvE content. This version is basically early access to its PvP content, which is essentially an updated Overwatch 1.

I prefer the 5v5 format with reduced crowd control abilities and less barriers. Less abilities on the field is a welcome change to me. Fights are less hectic and fast paced for it. One of the things that made OW1 battles excruciating was getting stuck at a choke point due to multiple barriers, turrets, and an extra tank player. I say good riddance, but I think they should put a 6v6 arcade mode in OW2 for those who prefer it.
