That’s so good to hear. One of the things that make Nintendo games and products so interesting to me is it’s creativity. Big time excited to play Wonder with friends and family.
@rjejr I’m mostly a single player guy, but I absolutely love family friendly local co-op games. Have you tried games like Moving Out and Very Very Valet? I’ve had a lot of fun with those games and am always on the lookout for these style of games. Key We and Stretchers were also fun experiences.
@AstroTheGamosian i think that’s ok. After all, we’re all free to value what we want, whether we think it’s right or wrong. Do i think our youth is in trouble because of bad influence? Maybe. But I have faith.
@AstroTheGamosian i wouldn’t worry about it too much. It’s just a game and the audience for Splatoon 3 is probably too young to experience the true realities of life and all the hardships that come with. The older you get, the more you realize that values like love and courage leave a lasting sense of happiness.
I would definitely not bet against it. It’s still selling well without a price cut and with a vast library of good games. There are billions of people who don’t have a Switch. Once it gets a decent price cut, the Switch will probably become an affordable gateway to gaming and continue selling.
Prepare for the age old argument of Switch not being a real home console once it beats PS2. Gamers are just weird like that.
These are fun to watch and I try to get some tips from it to improve because I suck. My biggest problem is not being able to make out what’s going on or seeing the other players because everything blends in so well with the ink. Oh well, Salmon Run is always a blast though.
Nintendo always goes back to the classic formula once in a while. Look at games like Fire Emblem Engage, Metroid Dread, New Mario Bros, and Links Awakening. I bet the next Zelda will be a classic linear 3D game or a top down game.
I would love this more if it was kept wholesome and maybe if there was a kids section and art submissions. Looking forward to how it turns out, it was always my favorite part to read of a magazine.
@SonOfDracula those individuals knew what they were doing and the ramifications that came with it, but chose to do it anyways. They put themselves in that situation. They’re not innocent and nobody should stop their own happiness for their choices.
Besides, it’s the government and laws that allow Nintendo to do those things. Bring the fight to the government if you really want to try make meaningful changes.
On topic, can’t wait to play this. Took a long weekend on launch to go wild on this bad boy.
Got this pre ordered. Been having a lot more fun with classic feeling video games of late with indies and modern games with classic gameplay. I hope these kind of games continue to keep coming. Might just have to stick with Nintendo only next gen and save me some cash.
@LastFootnote you know what, i agree with you. Sure, it will be hard to survive alone, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. There are people out there who is willing to help someone in need if the person is willing to work hard and change their ways. I don’t know his character so i can’t judge weather he’ll be able to make the right choice, but I hope he does.
Sure, chances are, given his circumstances, he’ll probably fall flat. But that depends on his character, which none of us really knows on a personal level. But since he left prison early on good behavior, I’d like to believe he wants to move on and be better. It might be magical thinking, but I do believe in miracles.
Got FF4 for now and played a bit. Great first impressions so far. Best way to play these classics, especially on the Switch where you can play handheld or on TV. Looking forward to playing 5 and 6 down the line.
@Omarzy wouldn’t be surprised if he took the bridge route if he had the option. Just use your t-shirt as a parachute and survive with minimal damage. Better then a 10 mil debt I say.
@HolyYoshi i would recommend due to its unique combat system and interesting characters. It does feel like a budget title however, so i would probably get it on sale.
It felt like the devs were experimenting with this game, so the combat can be easily exploited and easy to beat. Fun nonetheless. But i feel like a sequel would hopefully iterate and improve the system and all around make a better game.
@LastFootnote disagree. No severe consequences leads to continuous crime. Most criminals will continue their ways if the punishment was negligible.
This person in particular, he pretty much has a second chance to live a quiet and modest life for the rest of his days or risk getting caught again and live the rest of his days in suffering. That’s his incentive right there.
@PinderSchloss his life isn’t ruined. He can still live a peaceful and fulfilling life. I’m praying that this ordeal helps him find the strength to lead a more honest life. Who knows, if the punishment wasn’t severe he might have gone back to the life of crime.
@Nanami_Ataraxia there is an auto map function I think. Personally, I found drawing maps to be fun and calming. I thought it was silly at first, but I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it.
There isn’t much story and character development in these games also. It depends on the player’s imagination to create personalities and interactions with the characters that you create. Something to consider.
I would not plop down 80 bucks one time to get the collection, but instead buy the first game first. Lots of content there that will keep me busy for a while and hopefully the others will go on sale when I’m ready to play them.
Moved on and made my peace a while back. Hardly made any purchases this past year. Got most games I wanted already. Hopefully my Wii U doesn’t die and I can play them in 30 years.
@JohnnyMind then I’m pretty sure you’ll like it! I’ve played some of the main series and for me, it didn’t pull me in enough to make time for it, but I will play them someday for sure. Cereza was the exact opposite effect.
Cereza is really good. Hopefully more people will give it a chance when it goes on sale.
Not really a big Bayonetta fan, but I found the presentation and story telling in Cereza intriguing that drew me in. The gameplay is interesting / different and I found it fun and engaging. I also like puzzles and I found them designed very well.
Probably the only good thing about the pandemic where everyone was playing this game and socializing with good vibes. I still play when I need to relax.
This genuinely makes me more excited. Going in as blind as possible. Did it for BotW and sharing my experiences with family and friends is one of the things I’m looking forward to. Everyone has a unique experience and discovery. Animal Crossing was the same thing.
Been working for me. It’s not the best experience on Switch, but honestly doesn’t bother me. I’m just glad to play cross platform with my niece and brother. Not my kind of game, but my niece loves it so I’m willing to play so I can spend time with her.
Picked up New Mario Bros U and DK Tropical Freeze at GameStop. Had some points and gift cards to use. These are cozy games for me and I’m glad to be able to play them on Switch. Happy Mario Day y’all.
Finished the game and had fun with it. The game was too easy and I would consider another play through in New Game Plus on very hard mode. Interested in the Waltaquin story too. She is my favorite character in the game.
@GrailUK there is that recent story about LRG firing an employee over a tweet made 6 years ago and following certain Twitter accounts. Won’t get into it since it’s off topic and may trigger some folks, but that might be another reason for the hate. The full story is easy to find.
Personally, if it was me, I’d be OK with that single card. I just think the new team that worked on the remaster deserve the spotlight this time, especially if I didn’t contribute anything new to the remaster.
I wonder if he would have had a different opinion if the remaster was a dumpster fire.
@WallyWest so if they’re ok with paying $70 for a Switch game they really want to play, that automatically makes them fan boys? Because it’s not technically advanced? I don’t know, I’d rather pay $70 for Zelda then a Last of Us Part 1.
“ But our primary job as reviewers is to provide information that helps you decide on how to spend your disposable income - income you’ve no doubt worked very hard to accrue. “
Lol no it’s not. How I want to spend my hard earned cash is nobody’s business.
Just got my shipping notice from GameStop. The Pyra/Mythra amiibos are the ones I really want. These amiibos seem to be plentiful because they’re so easy to get, which is a good thing. I seem to notice more Animal Crossing amiibo cards (all series) as well. The Monster Hunter ones were a bit more difficult.
@Skunkfish @Trickbaby14 Nintendo recently did a stock split. 5-1 for the OTC stock NTDOY, which I’m assuming you own. You should have 5x more shares at current price.
Can’t fit them all, but these are my top 5 memorable ones for 2022.
Triangle Strategy Pokémon Legend Arceus Splatoon 3 Kirby Forgotten Land Fire Emblem Three Hopes
Lots more great games played this year for sure, but I’ll leave it at that and still haven’t played games like Xenoblade 3, Persona 5, SMT5, etc. Those will probably make it into next years list. Triangle Strategy definitely game of the year for me.
OW2 and ACNH will always be on top since they’re mainstays for me, but I’m disappointed in the lack of RPGs, which is my favorite genre. Going to make it a mission next year to complete more RPGs and metroidvanias despite my busy lifestyle. Will just have to game on my Switch whenever I have some spare time.
Triangle Strategy game of the year for me. Awesome game.
Will probably get this heavily discounted, unless this turns out to be a banger. I really want the series to succeed because the world could use more farming simulators. The Harvest Moon games have been getting progressively better so here’s hoping they find their own farming sim formula.
This sounds like a chill DQ experience. I’ll get it day one, but will probably finish DioField and Pokemon first. I really want to play this throughout the holidays for that laid back experience.
i personally like to browse the eshop and purchase unknown dollar games. It’s like having a toy box and just playing with random toys that look fun. sometimes i find hidden gems and sometimes i find stinkers, which i still manage to find some fun with honestly. I guess it’s the wonderment of playing a mystery video game and finding fun in it that excites me.
I did find Exorder kinda fun and i don’t mind spending a few hours with it.
Working on the prestige titles for the battle pass with two more weeks left, so the xp boost is appreciated. Will be casually playing a lot this weekend.
On vacation this week, so lots of gaming! Pokémon Scarlet has been surprisingly addicting and fun, despite the performance issues. Will probably sink a lot of time into that along with DioField.
Other then those games, will continue my holiday play through of Mario Galaxy and Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon.
@SteamEngenius Moira is crazy good in low rank. I think she’s the easiest support to rank up at least to plat. Mei was much worse in OW1 where she could freeze you with her primary fire. She’s still annoying, but at least it’s easier to avoid an instant death.
@R_is_KC those games are helping me get through my anxiety with a variety of fun ways to stay physically active, along with my regular daily exercises. Even Pikmin Bloom has made running outside a little more fun. I appreciate these kind of games and the weird fun experiences that Nintendo creates.
Looking forward to trying golf and hoping for some more games like baseball and basketball.
This won’t last long. unless this is worth throwing 8 bucks towards Elon Musk every time they want to make a parody account and then get permaband. Heck, they could probably ban the payment account too since they gave Twitter that information.
@Snatcher the game has 35+ characters to swap around. There is no one must play character. Unless you’re playing very high rank, not having the newest character is probably not the reason you lose a game. Most of the time it’s a skill gap or failure to change strategies.
I first heard about her on a podcast and she gained much respect from me when I heard about her contributions to this wonderful hobby of mine. Incredibly sad news and way too young. I played and enjoyed all the games she worked on.
