Re: The "Last Day" To Play The Original Overwatch Will Be Early Next Month

shining_nexus

Been playing Overwatch since launch and it’s one of those games that I always have fun when I go back to it. After playing the beta for quite some time, I think the new format is way more fun then 6v6.

Also, to be clear, anything you unlocked in Overwatch 1 on any platform (assuming they are linked to the same Blizzard account) will be unified into one account in Overwatch 2 with all your earned cosmetics and cross progression afterwards. I’ll personally be playing on both my Switch and PS5.

Edit - links to official blogs about account merge/cross progression and latest info about battle passes/seasons.

Re: Nintendo Announces End Date For Dragalia Lost

@rockodoodle I walk a lot so Pikmin Bloom has been a fun way for me to feel like I’m making progress in a game. It also helps that I have a group to play with. Super Mario Run was so fun for me, I remember binge playing it and getting all the colored coins in a couple days. It’s something I would like to go back to some day, just like other older Mario games.

I put some money into Miitomo back in the day and was disappointed they closed down the servers. I did have my fun with it, but still feels like a waste of money since I probably would have not spent anything if I knew it would have shut down so early.

I did spend in Bloom for the record.

Played this when it first came out and I enjoyed it for the first couple months. Too bad I can’t go back to it on my own time.

Hopefully they don’t shut down Pikmin Bloom. Even without updates, there’s still a lot of stuff to collect that could last me years. Super Mario Run is another mobile game that I would like to complete again down the road. Such a good game.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Is Already Switch eShop's Top Seller, Unsurprisingly

Playing through XC1 right now and I’m looking forward to XC3 at some point. The game looks really good.

@Ramen756 XC2 battle is way better then XC1. Setting up combos and pulling off massive damages can be very satisfying. Combat in XC1 is way too monotonous and simple for my tastes.

I can understand the hate XC2 gets. It was mediocre for me the first 20 hours, but dang the game opens up and gets crazy good for the next 80.

Re: New Pikmin Bloom Update Really Wants You To Go Outside

I like the updates and weekly challenges. Incentivizes people to form groups and work towards a goal. The thing I really like about this app is you don’t really need to play a game during walks. That’s how I play it anyways and I normally ignore the big flowers and stuff. I reap the rewards and manage my Pikmin after the walk.

Re: Overwatch 2 Is Getting Rid Of Loot Boxes In Favour Of A Battle Pass

@Itachi2099 From what I’ve read, OW1 will become OW2. Owners of OW1 will get a ‘Founders’ pack as a thank you, which consists of exclusive skins. All progression and rewards earned on all platforms should be consolidated and transferred over to OW2, which will then have cross platform progression. After that, everyone should be on the new reward system.

Re: UK Charts: Nintendo Switch Sports Still Leads Nintendo's Contenders

@Yosher But games like Kirby Forgotten Land, Mario Odyssey, Arceus, Fire Emblem, Luigi’s Mansion, Xenoblade, and even Metroid Dread sold well. Which clearly shows Nintendo that people like quality single player games. I don’t see them alienating those fans just because their live service games and those shallow/easy games also have a huge audience.

Re: Video: The Switch eShop Is Bad, And It's Making Us Sad

Other then the slow loading at times, which makes browsing a long list rather irritating, I do like the current minimalist design. I do like that there is no rating system too. I enjoy buying and playing random indie games on sale based on the description page alone. It’s exciting to jump into the unknown sometimes and experience games for yourself then to be told what is fun.

Re: Japanese Charts: Nintendo Switch Sports Dominates As Kirby Holds Strong

Switch Sports is Nintendo’s version of a live service game. Most multiplayer/online games by Nintendo are designed this way, to feed minor content over time and to keep interest in the game for a longer period. For better or for worst, this seems to be the road they’re taking with these games.

Their single player games are usually a complete experience on day one with an occasional beefy expansion/dlc down the line.

Re: Poll: What Is Your Most Played Sport In Nintendo Switch Sports?

shining_nexus

I’ve been playing volleyball and soccer the most. I feel they have more complexity then the other games. The slower pace also gives me enough time to read opponents and plan strategies. They’re team games too and I prefer co-op style modes.

I think volleyball was the most disliked game in the review because of its slow pace nature, but I think that’s one of the designs that make it more fun.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei V Tops 1 Million Sales Worldwide

Haven’t gotten around to playing this yet. Wanted to play XC1 DE first. Glad to hear SMT5’s success. I really liked SMT3, but didn’t quite finish it because of some cheap one hit kills that would happen and lose me about one hour of progress. Plan to go back to it some day, but not in any rush to deal with that again.

Re: Metroid Dread Producer Hopes It Showcased "Potential" And Inspires Metroidvania Devs

@Wexter “It is excellent for pick up and play sessions and builds in small, subtle hints to constantly direct the player where games like Symphony of the Night, Hollow Knight and Bloodstained can have you stuck at a part for hours trying to figure out something obtuse.”

This is what I think Dread does so well. My first play through was a delight and the fun never stopped. Where these other games, which I played and enjoyed, I would get lost for hours and start getting fatigue. I’m not saying these games should be more like Dread, because they’re clearly enjoyed by a lot of people. I’m perfectly happy playing Metroidvanias with different experiences.
