Love 90s sega racers so probably will pick this up.... although not yet completely convinced it really nails it...(hotshots racing for example was nice and looked like virtua racing, but didn't gave me the kick i hoped, rather play (m2's conversion of) the original.... And outrun 2 on my xbox 360

@topsekret Futari then probably would only be on the japanese direct... but would be lovely... i have the little Mushihimesama pseudo-arcade from LRH to get my illussions up.. (and recently bought the futari port for my xbox 360... basically my cave machine for the games not on switch, connected to a crt)

Was positively surprised with balloon kid.. never played this version, but it is really smooth, and the chosen palette works really well...

I remember friend of the site Jon (GVG) made a baloon kid video also showing the hello kitty one..., which is recommended

@sportymariosonicmixx i guess i deserved that reply;) but what i meant that i'm used to getting blueshelled in mario kart. But here it seems to be always in the last corner of the last grandprix (which has bonus points for the winner).. completely turning a victorylap into a disaster...especially with the rubber banding going on...

Nice, both the unreleased games and the coloring shows they really want to make something from it.....

In this philosophy it's logical you need the peripheral.. since they want you to experience a part of their history, not just supply you with some roms... it's not Mario25Wii...

(saying that, coupling that with expansion pack seems only logic from 'coherence within the Classics series' , but less from fairness if you ask people sto spend 70 euros.... (although if you're mad enough to buy something like this- like i am - then you're unlikely to be not subscribed )

@Sonicka as pointed out by @grumblevulcano, it was the 6th best selling 3ds game, so i think it is more than niche... I understand this more than the double whammy for kirby airriders (but I like full directs more too..

and the 3ds game was lovely btw..

... I saw my GC adapter for wiiU which works on switch needed a firmware update for switch 2. Anyone experience with that.. it doesn't break GC compatibility on wiiU i hope (i had another adapter first which did work on wiiU but refused to work via Nintendont... )..

I played smbw for quite a bit but my kids got bored fast, meaning the multiplayer won't be used enough to warrant this.

When i got new leaf in 2014 my kids (5 and 7 then) didn't really pick ut up, my daughter a few years later, but 2020 meant complete commitment for the whole family on 2 switches,,, We now (16/19/48) started a new island in november on the swich 2, keeping our old island on the switch 1, and getting 3 stars in time for last weeks update.. my daughter being the island representative..

@Wewewi ah ok red viper is a great virtual boy emulator on 3DS, which - at least in my little bubble - gave a great impulse in reaappreciating the Virtual Boy, and wondering why nintendo didn't bring out an official 3ds emulator for the virtual boy... and now they're doing this... looking forward to my piece of plastic!

There is a bit hope of a compilation since they register ‘arcade paradise’. But it really is time. Not keeping to buy Yakuza games for 1 or 2 arcadegames anymore. Love the Daytona version though.

I don't think you can decouple this from the free update... Nintendo decided to spend development time on a five year old game, ..not strange they are trying to earn some money doing it.. let's look at the alternatives

1. Doing nothing"... People would start expecting ac switch 2. And new horizons would phase out even further.
2. Just releasing a free upscaled version.. nice, but would it get me to play ac again (have 1000 hours in it). Probably not..
3. Asking money for just this update.. People would be madder than in this thread
4. Including the 3.0 stuff in the switch 2 update: maybe a clearer proposition, but, since its not necessary, bit of nasty for existing owners
5. Releasing everything for free... Nice, but that would cost them money and people feeling entitled for every update being free... Shareholders would be unhappy.
6. Current option... Lots of people will at least for a while start playing again (we actually had been waiting for this to start a new island on the s2, keeping our old one on the switch 1)... While getting some of the cost back by charging a bit for the s2 specific functions for those who care

If I was Nintendo, I would choose 6 too... For me spending the equivalent of a cup of coffee to get some faster loading times (yeah...1000 hours ac is at least an hour waiting). And if you don't think it's worth it too you, well then you get some free stuff.

Personnally i'm really looking forward to it.. great to see nintendo celebrating this misstep and Yokoi... And that plastic thing will stand nive in my game room as a trophy celebrating that.. Think most nintendo fans who are crazy enough to buy this have a subscription anyway, but might be wrong)

@Wewewi ofcourse, but only since red viper the experience has been comparable.(andvr sets) . red viper is a reason to mode your 3ds .... emulating virtual boy in 2d feels so boring.. 5/6 top games really oly come to live when the 3d aspect is featured ,

CW racing feels quite like those mario kart arcade games

got it last week by combining the sw1 version deluxe discounted, and the sw2 upgrade.. got the deluxe because of the nice dlc pics...

@shoeses yeah that was the reason i never bought deluxe. I have my wiiu still hooked up (mainly for wii lightgun gams and gamecube), so didn’t ser the reason. Lovely 4k, 60hz could be a reason though.
