@KingMike i’ve got a vectrex… a lovely little vector machine, but to call it portable? Sure you can eadily move it around your house, (and since it has a built in screen you have too), and out it opinyour car or something,…size is like an old mac se 30… love thr thing though … recently made this video about it since it is now on the pocket too https://youtu.be/Mf2rXOUeVM0?si=mWTdjQf-9ACG1ntr

With mario land it finally feels like it is a properlibrary which sort of represents the different phases… and nice of them to celebrate 35 years of game boy with launch year… that’s a good excuse for not launching it earlier… we can have a little celvration (you should put it in the article @damo since they pit it in the press release..

Always loved sml 1. Playedyed ut a lot but didn’t have it myself.. my little brother got it on a 16 in one cartridge a few years later i think.. prefer the flow to sml2,. Bought it finally when i got my analogue pocket last year

Still japan gets the best game… for whom the frog is an amazing game.. i actually find it funny.. if you are able to play a translated copy. . It’s ine of the top gb games… a more consise links awakening… (remake time nintnedo)

Re: The First Switch Online Event For Endless Ocean Starts Next Week

@sanderev I personally think it will turn around a bit.. the reviewers clearly didn't experience the online bit that much since it wasn't out

but if you do a comparison which endless ocean 2: that had a great meta story combining collecting, traininig and exploring on a nice overworld.. you felt like you were living the live... (played EO1 back in the day, EO2 this year when i modded my wiiu, just before this was announced)

Re: The First Switch Online Event For Endless Ocean Starts Next Week

Really enjoying it until now.. being there with 30 divers doesn't feel like to much since it is a big area... and nice to collectively looking for something..

@folkloner.. endless ocean 2 i'm now 180 hours in this year, so is indeed richer.. endless ocean 1 wasn't that inrteresting if i look back at it now.. just one sea...

after the review i was dissaponted, but now playing it i kind of like it.. (not sure for how long thoughh.. let's see what this event does...

Re: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Switch Frame Rate Revealed

romanista

mmm didn't expect that... bit on the fence with this one to be honest.. some nice fan service things so physical would be nice... but I have it on nintendon't with the gc gamecube controller on the wiiu downstairs so i don't even have to fire up my original... will i be playing this or the original.....

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Endless Ocean: Luminous?

romanista

@Sparrowhawk you know how expensive diving is? I often spend 50$ for 30 mins of fishy looking.... so i'm saving money here....

but jokes aside, i recently started playing EO2 now that i modded my wiiU (played Eo1 back in '09) just before this was announced and have clocked around 133 hours now...

Re: The First Third-Party iOS App Store Hosts A Free Nintendo Emulator (Europe)

romanista

Really felt back like 2009 today. Then jailbreaking my iphone 3g for gba emulation. Then Android was still not there @JohnnyMind (think having both a walled system and a not walled helped development of the phone os)

@bluetunnin. You can access your icloud drive and on your iphone which can accessed by files. And i think i saw dropbox somewhere

Won’t use it that much because have a miyoo mini plus but nice to have some favs on the go.

Re: Best First-Party Game Boy Games

bit of a strange subselection, but reallt happy mole mania is ranked high... love the game and recnetly bought a japanese boxed version because it's so cute (looks so good in the analogue pocket)

Re: Book Review: 'The Most Relaxing Video Games' - More Than Just Cute 'N' Cosy

romanista

@Solomon_Rambling @diogmites thanx for the books discussion.... Although I noticed i love this kind of book for the first hour... production values alone don't make a good book, and without a clear conceptual frame such a book will leave me empty... still there are good exceptions, loved ROM's sensible software book for example (https://www.amazon.nl/-/en/Gary-Penn/dp/0957576803 ) and the book on the demise of commodore

Re: Review: F-Zero Maximum Velocity (GBA) - The First Portable F-Zero Still Holds Up

romanista

No Nintendo Life, it doesn't hold up. Just played it again, but not only it's the most boring of the gba ones, there is no reason to play it, since it doesn't innovate on the Snes one, and that is completely superseded by f-zero 99... Such a great gba library and then a game you have already on the service....giver us the DD version then so we create some content.. anything..

recently playing F-zero AX and GX on my modded wiiU... holds up so well.... you could just upgrade this so slightly and sell...

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 18.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

romanista

@-wc- @spider-key it's really is far better than folders (for my use case at least.. having both a shmup section and an m2 section for example .. just hacked my u and put everything in neat folders... but it will decrease my finding stuff and caused endless debates withing myself to put something in the pinball or in the pc engine category etc.. so basically what @fishyS writes.. you know can actually organize them u use them , in stead of finding an artificial 'best index'

Not they couldn't have improved them ofcourse... games could come with standard tags, that you also could use to filter the e-shop for example... (but improving the e-shop is an whole diffet matter... what a mess....)

And to counte the argument 'but we asked for it', just remember Ford's quote 'if we would have asked people what they wanted, they would have asked for faster horses;' .. in design thinking philosophy (and industrial design in general) it's important to look at the actual need of the client, rather than the perceived solution..

Re: Best Pokémon Spin-Off Games Of All Time

romanista

Didn't realise there were so many... the pinball game on gbc is nice though, as is (new) pokemon snap... Pokken a nice wiiU surprise a decade ago

the other free switch ones not more than a destraction... , the stadium games i don't see the point off (I didn't really fit in the pokemon demographic during the n64 days i guess).. and grinding rpg's i sadly don't have time for... stull it looks like it is a bit like fireemblem some, which is nice
