The Switch keeps getting a nice amount of options every week. After the Wii U's drip-feed, that's excellent to see.
I'm very interested in Phantom Trigger, but "story-driven levels" in the description gives me pause. I loved Hyper Light Drifter, which looks very similar, but that was much more about exploration than story, which is the way I like it. I guess I'll wait for reviews.
Very cool stuff. The Master System was my second ever console (after the NES) and the only SEGA console I ever owned. Miracle World was certainly one of its crowning jewels, and I'd love to give this a go.
Run speed up is actually one of the best abilities to get if you play with a roller. Allows you to cover much more ground very quickly, especially in multiples.
As a roller player, I'm looking to craft all-Run speed up shoes and an all-ink saver (main) helmet, as those seem like the most useful abilities for that weapon.
Also, someone already mentioned it, but it's worth repeating: splatfest tees can be scrubbed clean for a measly 2,000.
The weird thing is, on my way to be a Mayo King, I faced quite a few mayo vs. mayo matches. To find out we were vastly outnumbered in popularity, I think Nintendo's matching algorithm needs some work.
Either way, it was super fun. Let's hope the next splatfest has a theme I can actually pick the side I like more instead of the one I hate less.
Not only is my favorite PS4 game getting a sequel, but it's also coming to the Switch, where it'll be significantly enhanced by portability? Best news since E3 right here.
This sounds more like conservative wording than a retraction of previous statements.
Either way, I do hope we get something like a Mega Man Collection 1+2 on Switch in the near future. Sadly, Capcom's more current games aren't really something that catches my eye (but I'd love to be proven otherwise).
I've generally been waiting on PS4 games that are poised to come to Switch (Yooka-Laylee, Stardew Valley), but I don't think I'll be able to handle the wait on this one. Super stoked to get my hands on it as soon as it hits western shores!
I wish I didn't want every interesting new 3DS release to come out on Switch instead, but alas, I do. So this is gonna join the ranks of Ever Oasis and new Layton as a 'hopefully one day' game.
This is definitely gonna be my September big game. I generally don't like license-based Lego games (except Lego City Undercover, which is awesome), but sandbox style? Sign me up.
So, is it fair to say that Splatoon is already Nintendo's #2 franchise in Japan, after Pokemon? If so, hopefully we'll start getting spin-offs before long. A game in which you can explore Inkopolis more thoroughly would be up there on my list.
Either way, incredible numbers, and thoroughly deserved.
Hopefully Pokemon comes out next year - and hopefully stock issues are solved by then, because I predict Switch's best sales week ever when that happens.
Excellent week for Nintendo, especially when you consider how much more popular its competitors have historically been in the UK.
I have to say, however, that Crash Bandolicoot selling so well has surprised me. Especially as a huge fan of 3D platformers, and extra especially because I think Crash games suck hard.
@Folkloner Yep, that's pretty much it. Plus, it made business sense for Nintendo to be conservative with Switch manufacturing; it's obviously a big hit, but that fact was nowhere near a known quantity before release.
I hope they can ramp up production on year 2. It's so great to see a Nintendo console do so well and be part of the conversation again, but a bit disheartening to think just how many copies they could be selling weekly were it not for the component shortage.
Sad to see that an interesting new IP like Ever Oasis seems to be flopping, while a dull portable Pikmin title, which doesn't seem to hold a candle to the console games in the franchise, sold significantly better.
This reads like the kind of convoluted Japanese action game with unscrutable storyline that I've been quite done with. The fact that it is described as being in the musou genre is the final nail in the coffin and makes me realize that this is sadly 100% not for me.
Oh, boy. The chances of me getting this game keep getting lower and lower.
I reallh wish Sega would go for understated silliness when it comes to the story in Sonic games, just like Nintendo does in Mario or Donkey Kong Country. This is the kind of game that absolutely should get as few cutscenes as possible, and focus on what actually matters.
Oh, god... has no one got any respect for my childhood anymore?
This will suck ass, be a flop, and as a result the franchise will once again retreat to the dark vaults of Capcom limbo. So no, nothing good can come of this.
Not a baseball guy, but I'm super happy to see these games coming to the Switch. It feels like every other day there's a new announcement on Twitter, which is a lot more that we ever got with the Wii U (or even the 3DS). Seems like Switch is part of the zeitgeist indeed.
Great game that should feel right at home on a Nintendo platform. I won't double dip (have it on PS4), as there's way too many games competing for my free time as is, but if you haven't played this, you don't need to think twice.
The problem for me is how generic the characters look. The trailer has zero of the charm actual Smash has, with its mixture of character design styles. At least for me, having famous characters we love from different IPs beating each other up is half the reason Smash is so appealing.
I like it that we don't seem to actually need any of the toys at all to play. I'm cautiously intrigued; it will depend on how much the game costs for you to do a fair playthrough with a reasonable number of options for the ship.
I have no nostalgia for these blocky PS1 era games that were once considered 'realistic', and I'm no Resident Evil fan, so this is definitely not for me. I did enjoy the dev's previous game, FreezeME, though, so here's hoping their next game is something more up my alley.
Interesting read. I loved Pikmin 3, but the exploration was one of the main reasons for that, meaning this game looks to fall flat with me. As much as I like the IP, I don't think I'm gonna be dusting off my 3DS for this one.
Stardew Valley is one of my most anticipated Switch titles right now, to the point where I'm checking almost daily for a release date. That said, Light of Hope certainly seems promising, and I'm more than willing to give it a try if reviews are fair.
@Ralek85 Ah, but the difference is that we're not talking in real time here. You answered me yesterday, now I'm re-answering today. There isn't the urgency to respond right away, which for me at least takes the vast majority of the annoyance away. It's the same reason why I don't mind answering text messages, but generally can't be bothered by chatting in real-time text services anymore. Or why I don't like talking on the phone, but am okay with voiced WhatsApp messages.
There's no opportunity for interruption, for example, or the pressure to understand bad audio, especially not right away and without a chance to re-play it. At the end of the day I guess those are my main pet peeves with voice chat (and phone calls) as a whole.
Of course, I'd be happy to have voice chat in Splatoon, because I know a lot of people enjoy it. It's just not something that's on my personal priority list, as I 100% would never use it.
@Ralek85 Like MoonKnight, I hate voice chat, and in my case it's the same reason why I've always hated talking on the phone. It's just not the same thing without the peripherical aspects of conversation, such as body language and physical expression. It's harder to avoid people interrupting each other, for example, and the sound often isn't as clear, meaning there's more chance for miscommunication. At the end of the day it's just not nearly as enjoyable for me as the real thing - on the contrary, I always end up jarred by those small inconveniences. Thankfully, with Switch's portability, it will be super easy to just take my console to a friend's house and play online together that way.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Well, I never liked Earthbound because it pushed hardware. That was the quirky writing, lovable characters, classic RPG gameplay and music. As long as this game gives us that, I'll be satisfied.
And come to think of it, I don't think Earthbound pushed hardware at all back when it was released, as there were already many more technically advanced games, graphically or otherwise, by 1994/1995.

Re: Masquerada: Songs and Shadows is Heading to the Switch eShop
I find myself constantly disagreeing with Pushsquare reviews, so that bodes well for this game. 😁
Re: Brawlout Could Keep Smash Bros. Fans Busy on Switch Later This Year
If the roster is an all-star cast of indie games, consider me interested (although it does bother me that this seems to be an almost direct ripoff).
Re: SEVERED Slashes Its Way onto the Switch eShop, Out Today
Guacamelee is one of my favorite Wii U games, but I never got Severed. I just didn't really feel its structure and reliance on touchscreen controls.
Cool to know it's came to Switch, but I guess nothing has changed in that regard.

Re: NBA 2K18 Will Launch Digitally First On Switch, Retail To Follow "Fall 2017"
This doesn't seem optimal, but certainly beats having the game delayed both digitally and physically.

Re: Feature: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle's Producer on the "WTF" Blend of Iconic Franchises
@AlphaJaguar I kinda wish they'd give Bowser a break for this game, honestly. I suspect he's in, though.
Re: Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2 Are Coming To Switch Later This Year
Not a fan of Resident Evil, but this can only be a good sign! Now bring Disney and Mega Man over, Capcom.
Re: Video: Here's What Senran Kagura Looks Like On Nintendo Switch
This is so cringeworthy that it crosses into funny territory. Still not seeing my money, though.
Re: Hands Up, This Is The Police Is Coming To Nintendo Switch
This looks super cool! Should be fun to try to steer away from corruption in the face of adversities.

Re: Intriguing NFC-Inspired Strategy Title - Prodigy - is Heading to the Switch
Both look... quite cool, actually. Especially Violett.
Re: Hey! Pikmin Shows Nintendo Still Has A Soft Spot For Rare
This is super cute, and also reminds me how much I'd like to see Rare Replay hit the Switch. Hey, Minecraft is here, so why not.

Thoroughly deserved. Game's a little masterpiece, and manages to one-up the original in pretty much every way.

Re: Splatoon 2's Next Splatfest Tackles A Challenging Choice Of Condiments
Argh. This is the first ever Splatfest in which I absolutely loathe both sides.
My favorite song of all time is Smashing Pumpkins' "Mayonaise", though, so that's my team.

Re: Beach Buggy Racing Screeches Onto Switch Next Week
I'd definitely consider it if it was a Micro Machines clone instead of a Mario Kart ripoff. I always need isometric multiplayer racers on my consoles.
Re: Sci-Fi Shooter Morphite Touches Down On Switch This September
Whoa, they got me interested, that's for sure. Super cool stylized graphic and, if that tune is any indication, a potentially amazing soundtrack.

Interesting that the Xbox One is still a priority for this. I'm sure the thirteen Kingdom Hearts fans who own that platform are happy to hear it.

Re: Playdius Adds More Games to Its Switch eShop Line-Up
@milliag These titles look waaaaay more sophisticated and less simplistic than RCMADIAX's usual output, though.
Re: Playdius Adds More Games to Its Switch eShop Line-Up
Fun-looking titles all around. If the price is right, I could see myself getting all three.

Re: Video: "The World is Your Playground" - Nintendo's Pitch for Splatoon 2 and Nintendo Switch
Cool ad, and it just underlined to me the fact we're just ONE. WEEK. AWAY.
I hope this sells like hotcakes, especially with Switch's momentum so far. Such a fun IP, it absolutely deserves it.

Re: Preview: Going Solo in Splatoon 2's Single Player Hero Mode
@Kalmaro As much as I loved playing online, that final boss is probably my single favorite thing about the original Splatoon. So incredible.

Not for me, but good news. The fact I've been watching (and really enjoying) GLOW on Netflix aaaaalmost makes me actually want this.
