One of my favorite games from recent years. Great art style, great music, incredibly deep, absolutely addictive. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes open-ended gameplay in which you start from humble beginnings and build up something great.
I don't think I'll double dip, though, unless they add a non-permadeath mode. Starting a new Don't Starve file with a more laid back approach has long been a dream of mine.
Surely at this point devs have to stop naming things -onauts? Seems like we have a million games and game-related brands with that naming convention by now.
@OorWullie That's exactly how I feel. I got the Runbow demo and enjoyed it, but opted not to get the full game as I'm really not that into multiplayer. This seems a great chance to support the dev after all, seeing how well-made Runbow was.
As for people predicting baseball to dominate in the Americas... Just keep in mind all of Latin America is part of that region. Sure, the US is bound to have a majority of active players, but still it isn't gonna be nowhere near as lopsided as you think.
I wish Snowcastle had planned better for the Kickstarter backer code distribution, as I've yet to receive mine. All the more disappointing when, in the case of Yooka-Laylee, I was playing the game days before launch.
Either way, I can't wait to finally dig into this one. Been a long wait, so yeah, I can handle a couple extra weeks.
@MagnaRoader Then you'll likely be aware that this trend is anything but modern. I mean, most NES games can be completed in a couple of hours if you know your way around them. The vast majority of the times, difficulty was the only thing keeping the games from being over too quickly back then.
From the trailers, this game has always looked a bit too stiff for my tastes. I like my platformers to have a feel of fluidity that this one sadly seems to lack.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE What's dumb about that is that, well, every modern platform's library consists of a vast majority of indie titles. That, and the fact that a fair number of the best games of our time come from indie studios.
Either way, super excited for this. In fact, I'm as excited as I am for any direct, which is hardly surprising when I realize Odyssey and BotW are the only non-indie titles currently in my top 5 Switch games.
He is super talented, so I have high hopes. Let's just hope this one actually releases, though, as Mr. Höberg has been notoriously abandoning projects for a while now.

I skipped Robobot after Triple Deluxe felt too samey to me. Preloaded this one, however, as Kirby is one of the few games I can convince my girlfriend to play with me. Also, seeing one of my favorite comfort gaming series on HD for the first time (at least as far as mainline games are concerned) should be fun.
This is so sad, especially as I got quite addicted to the original DS game. It's such a bummer when devs don't seem to know what makes their game special in the first place.
I've always been very interested in Inazuma Eleven, but Nintendo of America hasn't been exactly keen on releasing the games. Thank goodness for the region-free Switch, assuming this one does at least come to Europe.
Eagerly awaiting my Earthlock backer code. Too bad they didn't pull a Yooka-Laylee and let us play before release, but I've got plenty on my plate, so that's fine.
I just don't understand this game's existence. In a good way, mind you - not "this is terrible", but "what deranged mind could have ever come up with this?".
This is disappointing. The game looks gorgeous, but those issues look like they would really turn me off. Still interested, though. Hopefully I'll get it on a future sale.
The premise seems smart, even for someone like me who doesn't really dig games that are strictly narrative-based. Too bad the execution seems to fall short.
No interest in multiplayer, but I'd really like the ability to keep expanding your village over the original limit. Best case scenario would be a game that's even more seamless and open ended, without forcing you to change continents at the end of every chapter like the first one.
Either way, DQB is one of my favorite games of the past few years and I'm eager to get more of it.
Say what you want, Ubisoft has been Ninty's most regular partner for a while. Even on Wii U, we got stuff like Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed 4 and Child of Light well after other big thirds had jumped ship. So yeah, this is extremely well-deserved.
This has been on my PS4 wishlist, but I have to admit their unbelievably unprofessional responses on Twitter will probably make me keep pushing it back, if I ever get it at all. There's too much to play anyway without having to support such a bratty PR trainwreck of an attitude.
@FatAlbert1 Splatoon is certainly a big deal, but the #1 Nintendo IP in Japan has been, for quite a while, Pokémon (and I don't see that changing anytime soon).
@rjejr The first time it happened I was surprised and disappointed, but it becomes perfectly clear that it will happen more times (so it isn't really a surprise when it does again). Thankfully, I soon realized it wasn't as bad as it looked, as the villages you build are entirely different, serving different purposes with differents types of rooms and whatnot.
Each of the four chapters features a TON of secrets, making for awesome exploration that lasts quite a while. It's like four 10-15 hour games in one package, basically. So if you go in aware of that, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
"Fighting enemies and bosses isn’t inherently broken, but it’s still as clunky and unintuitive as it is on other platforms."
Clunky and unintuitive? On the contrary - combat in this game is extremely simple, to the point where I think some people will resent it for that reason. I didn't, for what it's worth.
Anyway, excellent game that everyone should give a try. It really is one of those experiences that sinks its claws on you and refuses to let go.
I do think Crash games are complete rubbish (don't @ me m8), but this trilogy has obviously been a phenomenal success on PS4. Having it on the go will be great for fans of the series both old and new.

I'm not surprised that soccer was more popular, but sweet popcorn? Really?
Re: Review: Super Daryl Deluxe (Switch eShop)
This caught my attention last week. Glad to know it lives up to the promise! On my wishlist it goes.
Re: Random: Here's What Donkey Kong Country Would Have Looked Like With Classic Kong
This is pretty cool and a damn good job by the creator. I do much prefer the Rare redesign, though, in all of its glorious nineties-ness.

Re: Console Exclusive Shelter Generations Will Be Feline Good When It Launches On 12th April
This is a super cool idea, but I really dislike the art style. Guess I'll wait for the reviews.

Just a pet peeve of mine is all. Game looks cool!

It figures that the theme is different in Europe. It can't be fun to have 99% of people choose one side.
#teamsoc... I mean, #teamfootball
Re: Have Your Cake And Eat It As Nintendo Listing Suggests It's Making A Game Called EclairCity
It's a good think we're approaching the weekend, when I'm generally more lax about my eating habits... Because now I'm craving a vanilla eclair.
Re: Review: Earthlock (Switch eShop)
@Gerbwmu Thanks for the heads up! The last time I inquired about this on Twitter, they told me it would come in the days after launch.
I sent them an email, and hopefully will be playing the game soon!

Re: Xbox's Phil Spencer Is Still Open To Banjo And Kazooie Appearing In Super Smash Bros.
@NewAdvent Maybe because crash has an atrocious design and terrible games. 😁
Re: Feast Your Eyes (And Your Belly) On These Little Dragons Café Screens
Stardew Valley left me with a higher than usual craving for laid-back life sims, so I'm super curious about this one. Hopefully we get a trailer soon!

Re: Nindies Showcase For Nintendo Switch Airing Next Week
@Scottwood101 They already do that, albeit in small doses. Snipperclips and Dillon's Rolling Western are good examples.
Although yeah, I do wish smaller titles like that became more of a cornerstone of Nintendo's release schedule.

@Luffymcduck That's good to know. Will definitely give it consideration then.

I never played Spyro back in the day. Is it as linear as Crash? Because if so, no thanks.

Re: Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Will Light Up The Nintendo Switch This Holiday Season
Awesome news. If there's one thing my Switch needs more of, it's good western RPGs.
Re: Review: Dragon Quest Builders (Switch)
@rjejr That was perhaps my main qualm with the game. Not that it was enough to make the experience any less wonderful for me, though.
I do hope DQB2 goes for a continuing stoyline instead.

Brazilian folklore absolutely sells me on it, but alas, it will have to wait a bit, as I just got Celeste and World to the West.
Re: Rumour: Call Of Duty 2018 Could Be Black Ops 4, And It Might Be Headed To Switch
