Re: Feature: Nintendo Hardware Refreshes Through The Ages

@dartmonkey "like something Captain Kirk would keep his logs in." I know what you meant but my mind still went immediately to the W/C in the captain's quarters 😂.

For my money, the most aesthetically pleasing revisions are the Wii Mini and the slate 2DS. Despite the reduction of capabilities, they are so retro looking and remind me of the Mega Drive 2 and GBA respectively.

I have a slate 2DS but I never got a Wii Mini which is a great regret of mine!

Speaking of Star Trek, the 2DS actually looks an awful lot like the pads that Kirk used to sign every episode in the original series!

On the flip side of this, my mum encouraged me to keep all my tat from when I was a child. Now I have a loft full of worthless junk that nobody wants....

I also now have an OCD about throwing things away. It's not quite hoarder level but it is incredibly painful to throw stuff out. I have to mentally forget myself to get through the process.

However, I do have a huge box of original Pokémon cards which I want to get rid of which should net a tidy return. Anything over £1000 is taxable though so I am really apprehensive about bothering to sell them at all.

Holy moly, the new site actually does the cookies notification in accordance with the law too! I am really impressed with that actually 😂

Sites are supposed to say "Accept all Cookies" and make it easy to "Reject all Non Essential Cookies" but most websites have a convoluted system of ticking loads of boxes before you can do the latter. Kudos to them for doing it right!

Sounds good if myNintendo rewards to the UK can combine shipping. Might actually start bothering to accumulate some points now!

Is it still being run by TheHutGroup though? I'd be a bit funny if my Nintendo credentials were being shared with that company as they are really bad, particularly their Zavvi brand.

I did get the e mail about the switchover and whether to opt out of merging my accounts but unfortunately forgot to actually opt out :/

@rjejr ahh sorry! Yeah I think it was part of a Capcom publisher sale, I'll be sure to tag you and let you know if I ever see it on sale again. I always liked the look of the game back when it came out but never bought it. I just saw the DLC on the store page and looked it up, aparently there is a "true ending" that takes place in the DLC so I really didn't feel like buying the base game and not getting the full package so I just bought it all anyway. Aparently there's a bit of Street Fighter themed DLC to it as well.

@Clyde_Radcliffe @dartmonkey looks good from that preview! Definitely considering it even though my knowledge of Pokémon is a bit outdated, the last game I played all the way through was Pokémon Black and even then I don't think I could name any Pokémon past ruby and sapphire (and that's a stretch anyway!)

Shame they have yet to incorporate any Labo VR features, seems like a no brainer for this sort of game!

I've got the super game boy and the game boy player.

I remember the wario ware spaghetti spinning mini game became miles easier with an analog stick!

About ten years ago, I used it to finally finish links awakening DX and just last year, I used it to play through Metal Gear Solid (ghost Babel internationally)

I'm a bit confused about the rotation options...

There seems to be three aspect ratios, original, scaled and full ( I can't remember exactly what they were called).

Full obviously stretches to the whole screen but does it stretch the aspect ratio? I can't really tell on the free game. If it does then it would be good if there was an option to fill the screen to one set of edges without stretching the other direction unnecessarily

Re: LEGO Partners With Sega To Turn This Fan-Made Sonic Set Into A Real Product

@Zeldinion the creator ones are really good too! I'm just trying to downsize a lot of my stuff at the moment and Lego is something that kind of holds value so it's worth selling. I guess I'm trying to only keep the "display pieces" and as I'm a huge fan of marvel and DC, the minifgures and some of the sets are pretty much the only ones I want to keep for definite.

It is a bit heartbreaking to be cleaning up the Lego City hot dog seller for sale though! I can't keep talking about it or I will lose my nerve about selling them😅. I need to be ruthless!
