Re: Random: New Pokémon Snap Player Builds Their Own Gyro Camera Controller

@NEStalgia I'd say it's more of a Northern thing but it's probably just more of a commoner thing over here. I definitely use "us" to refer to myself occasionally even though I'm from the South.

I believe teachers did reprimand us for not speaking properly. I remember a lot of contention over the word/contraction "ain't" and also my pronunciation of water which sounds more like "wa'er". But at the end of the day, there's the constructed world that pedants would like you to believe is correct and there is the real world which actually exists.

With regards to your second point which is a minefield that I won't want to expand on too much. I would say that those you refer to actually exist in the real world and I'm quite happy to refer to people in whichever way they like to be referred. It's no real skin off my nose to do so.

Re: UK Newspaper Comes Under Fire For Hinting That Video Games Are "The Next Global Pandemic"

@nessisonett its awful, my main exposure comes from the bing app that collates headlines. I hate even having the temptation to scroll through it for my own morbid fascination. I only have the app to get the reward points, I wish there was some way to get rid of the "news"!

But yeah, honestly, they are all as bad as eachother. No matter what side of the line you fall on and how much their ideologies align with your own. Their articles are designed to get a rise out of you. The more emotional they make you then the more susceptible you become. It's like a never ending spiral.

Ah it was a reader?! Congratulations to you, whoever you are!

This was an awesome and interesting read. I really like the part about perspective because at the end of the day, whatever you can imagine something is worth, you will only get what people are willing to pay for it. It's probably better to be pleasantly surprised than bitterly disappointed so kudos to you!

I'm thinking of contacting heritage auctions (they have a UK office) about my huge box of original Pokémon cards from the late 90s. I'm a bit nervous about it though because I'm unfamiliar with the whole process and I guess I'm a bit worried about letting strangers take them away from me without getting the money in my hand first, especially if they end up going to Texas for valuation. But yeah, I'm too old now and as much as I loved them at the time, they are probably the only thing I own of any value that I am willing to part with. I hope anything I make from them will go towards and help me get a start on the property ladder.

Re: Hands On: Streets Of Rage 4's Mr. X Nightmare DLC Is A Dreamy Add-On

So definitely no additional story to this DLC then? Except that screen of text? Tbf, might be worth it as the original games story was told through screens of text 😅

Im in the UK and have the American LRG physical copy for my UK Switch. Will the DLC on the UK switch eshop work if my physical game is from a different region?

@YorkshireNed it's so weird, i know absolutely nothing about the game and only mentioned the film because the article mentioned a school setting and the logo too.

I can't imagine how that film would adapt into a game tbh either! It's pretty semi-obscure film to adapt too. I may dig further into this 😅

Or maybe I'll just watch If (and it's quasi semi spiritual sequels) again because I'm in the mood for it now 😅

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch OLED, Worth The Upgrade? Team NL Has A Chat

Can never have too many 3DSs 😂. I've got a normal, a 2DS, a New 3DS XL (SNES edition) and a 2DS XL. I would have had a fifth one if they released the Hylian Shield 2DS in the UK.

Only thing I'm gutted about is selling my original aqua blue 3DS because the L button was broken. The new cosmos black one had a different screen that had a yellow hue to it so it wasn't as vibrant as the original screen!

Re: Soapbox: Could Switch OLED Actually Make A Reality Of Nintendo's Cheesy Tabletop Dream?

I played classic Doom death match with 3 other people on a job once. It was rubbish and I could barely see anything. I used the charging stand as a stand because the kickstand might as well be a toothpick.

I also played a stranger at street fighter 2 at an old job. Which was fine I guess because it wasn't split screen. Also it wasn't my Switch that I was risking falling over due to a crumby kickstand
