Re: Nintendo Will Reportedly Fix Joy-Con Drift For Free And Refund Customers Who Paid

@Darkyoshi98
But wait, I thought drift was only caused by people mishandling/being too rough with their controller? Why would Nintendo do this if this were the case? They were making 40-50 bucks per repair!

@JasmineDragon
Dang, you've talked/surveyed to the "vast majority" of people who own a Switch. That would be somewhere around 18 million people you'd have knowledge of their Joycon issues or non issues? You have connections, my friend. Or are you one of those people that think forums like these are representative of entire populations?

@Darkyoshi98
Nope, that's not it. Was just like you until a few days ago. Launch console, play it all the time, no issues. Liked to brag about it around these parts just like you're doing. But then BAM - one day, left Joystick is super broken and has remained that way. Will generally get better after the first few minutes the Switch is on, but yea, I have the problem now, too. Don't be too cocky lol

Re: How The Crypt Of The NecroDancer Developer Got To Work With Zelda

I think it's awesome, and I'm one of the biggest Zelda fans out there. I hate seeing stupid stuff done with venerable franchises, but this is unique. Necrodancer is an incredible game, and the previews for this look awesome.

I think Hyrule Warriors is way closer to being a detriment to the Zelda franchise. I like Warriors and it's certainly fun to mess around in for a few hours, but there is that janky feel to it that all those Warriors games share, and I dreaded that happening to Zelda.

I don't get the doom and gloom about the Zelda franchise in this thread? Did I miss something? Just last year everyone was bellyaching for a new Zelda title of any sort. A franchise that only releases a game every 4-5 years may remain nostalgically good, but it won't grow. I'm not saying these sorts of things need to be pumped out every year or two, but if what we're getting for Zelda this year is the Awakening remake and this, then that's excellent.

Re: GameStop Promo Wants You To Trade-In Your Old Switch For A New Switch

People just laying into Gamestop: you're ok living in a world where your buying choices are limited to either mega stores like Walmart or our overlord Amazon?

Bring on more small stores and gaming chains, I say. I don't care how many stupid offers they come up with; I'd rather support them than Amazon. Nobody's forcing me to take them up on this offer.

Brick and mortar stores are like they've always been: your experience will vary based on your local store. My Gamestop is fine, if not good. The employees don't hassle you, some of them are good friends of my family, and I know I can stop over and pick up a game in 10 minutes if I need to (and bring something back in 10 minutes if I need help). Some of you may live near "bad" Gamestops, and that's unfortunate, but don't shepherd all of us closer to this future of one retailer to rule them all.

Re: Review: Child of Light: Ultimate Edition - A Painterly Action RPG Which Still Shines Four Years On

I have such mixed views on this one.

I have it on Xbox, and it's "good," but I've never been able to summon the will to finish it.

The artwork is fantastic and the world is just such an intriguing fantasy world, but to me it feels like it's begging to be a FULL game and not just a secondary, budget-type release.

I just feel like it goes on for a bit too long and is ever-so-slightly not fully realized.

Re: Head Of Abstraction Games Addresses Technical Performance Of The Switch

Bottom line: it comes down to whether they want to invest the time or effort. Most companies have engineers more than capable of getting the games to run: are they willing to put the money into it?

Definitely wouldn't call the 3rd-party support "poor." You're probably judging on a faulty premise: comparison to PC and/or third-party boxes (aka Xbox and PS, both wonderful machines). Anything compared to those will have "poor" 3rd-party support in your view because, well, it will unless it has the same amount and is therefore pretty much just another xbox/ps/PC.

Re: Thimbleweed Park Sales On Switch Predicted To Exceed Lifetime Steam Sales

@Shellcore
Hrm... I think you need to stop passively insulting people and try to understand their stance a bit more.

People are telling you that, especially for a 1.5 year-old ecosystem, the Switch has LOTS of indie competition on it AND a horrible eShop UI to boot. If indie sales can do well in this environment, they will continue to do well. I haven't bought this game yet, and I haven't seen it on the "featured" or "top" lists on the eShop for quite some time, but here it is, doing very well for itself.

Of course Steam has more, though. Steam has more than any current console. Heck, Steam may have more stuff on it than all consoles combined. It kind of has the advantage of being around for like 15ish years lol

@Ralek85
Totally feel the same way. My copy is getting here tomorrow, but I won't be able to play it meaningfully until Monday. Will check it out and let people know in the forum topic what I think.
