I think Wii U wasn't a bad name, I understood first time I heard it, it was a follow up console BUT! I didn't see the E3 presentation and since watching it, I think that's where they went wrong. No where near as confusing as Xbox.

The numbering is a good idea, I just wish it wasn't. I just like all the quirky names throughout the years.

I would love a new mega man game but I never even picked up 11 because it just felt weird in the demo. So I'll just wait and see.

I've had a happy back log so I think I'll pick it up hopefully around the release date. I'm hoping to get plucky squire next month too, which is a pretty similar story to this with a digital release and then a later physical one.

I think if I were to do this with my kids I'd opt to play as Yoshi and have them pick their character and they can just ride my character.

Luckily my son loves Sonic so if we ever play he just plays as Tails (whom he loves more than Sonic) and loves that he randomly flies is.

Dang, I just miss the e-shop, never played online too much, I do miss miiverse with the bottles in wind waker. I've never jail broke any of my consoles so I'm good but I will say Pretendo is a classy name and seems to do a lot of good for a generation I'm quite fond of.

@LadyCharlie hey me too! So weird, everyone sings it's praises, I love metroidvanias, and I just couldn't get through it for similar reasons.

An underappreciated lil metroidvanias that I love on switch is gatoroboto.

I mean Nintendo is a lot of things but not getting a company that they license to, to sign an NDA, I highly doubt happened.

That's some high school, YA novel level of plot development.

Either they did sign some paperwork and lied, are really just pulling all this from their rears, or are partners with friends who gave them info and broke their NDA with Nintendo. Their story seems very sus.

@BringleWorkshop turtles in time is a classic, I've played both and own the SNES version and I think I agree with ya, never given that too much thought before.

@Not_Soos sounds like a fun project. I'd love to try it when it's done. I'll have to keep an eye out for your post on it, you know giving you however much time you need with it, I've only ever made like 10 or so Mario maker levels.

Since you have played both are they pretty similar gameplay wise and level design the only difference being the amount of players?

I don't know if it defined the generation but also really crazy that 2D Metroid finally got a brand new entry after like 17 years!

@BringleWorkshop where are you playing sunset riders? I've heard nothing but good things about the SNES and Genesis versions but cannot convince myself to pay like $120 for a game I've never Even played.

@gaga64 preach! Love those games but the special stages are brutal. Advance 3 has really neat ones but I have never gotten the last chaos emerald. Tough as nails. Good luck!

Something I'm getting from this statement is if it true then the blinky red light is just a speculation about what the window may be in the joy cons.

They could also have received some sort of specs sheet clarifying what it is but it felt worth noting.

I play almost exclusively handheld, so a big screen is cool, but I do miss the days of being able to pocket a portable. Not sure that'll ever happen again

I'm with @Zeebor15. It feels like either nintendo forgot to get NDAs to ask these companies or the punishment wasnt severe enough or something.

I do believe it's going to be a DS - 3DS kinda transition for sure. Lots of similarities between the two generations where people who didn't live through it in 20 years will be confused as to which was which.

Not sure how many people do this, but I play switch while on the exercise bike and I use them then. Outside of that it's either in the grip or on the system.

I mean the arcade games were the worst and they are on arcade archives.

@Bigmanfan for me if I were to complain about anything in Shadow Generations it would be that the level themes were so similar, I couldn't hardly remember what happened on which level that I thought was cool. So gameplay, I say they are spot on, but level themes, it'd be cool to get some good variety like the sonic generations half had. Or you know any of the classic sonic games that had great level variety.

I was shocked with mine, SNES online app with 31 hours! I've already read some YouTube comments and also from the article here I know I have quitters numbers.

I have done a lot of actual retro gaming with my GBA and the likes but I didn't expect the SNES online app to win.

Still my overall most played is Sonic Mania with over 160 hours. Not that they count it.

I will say that Capcom Zeldas are some of my least favorite though, I feel like there are too many forced side quests.

@brandonbwii well said. I think it added lil random challenges around the world too I don't remember seeing before the DLC, but ya I was hoping for at least 2 acts.

Been getting back into 3DS. I have the A Link Between Worlds Special Edition model, so I never considered getting a "new" model back in the day but last week I learned that the 3D effect is better! I didn't know it had head tracking.

I'm a total sucker for the 3D so I'm hoping to get one for graduating college next week. The extra buttons and c stick help in some games sure, but I'm most interested in not losing the immersion when the game gets intense haha.

I mean, it doesn't make a lot of sense for several reasons. Maybe it's a stunt involving Friday the 13th? Like April Fools? I don't know it just seems too fake and outlandish to me.

@KY502ShinyHunter agreed, I get my hopes up every February that something will come up but no dice so far.

I wonder if game break thinks they could make more money releasing them individually or something on the e-shop and I'm all for it man, I can pay for that. I do feel like the aspect ratio of GB games is pretty strange on the switch, especially in handheld, I wish I could flip it 90 degrees to make at least look a little nicer.

@Axecon same thing happened to me like 2 years ago and I switched. if you can hop on a family plan for the +expansion pass. If you can get 8 people you got yourself the whole gambit for $10 a year. Super worth it. Otherwise anything passed like 4 people also makes it way affordable. I love the Genesis app the most out of the expansion pack but the N64 and GBA are bomb as well.

I love and prefer top down zelda's but EoW has been hard for me to enjoy and play, I'd like to hold off final judgement until the end of the game, since I'm not terribly far in, but it's pretty hard to defend sometimes because when Zelda "turns into" Link, those are the best parts to me, I feel like swinging a sword and getting to actively be part of combat is the best part of Zelda.

Most of the time I'm throwing the fire oozes so I'm at least doing something. The real time strategy is interesting but when these enemies I can normally cut through like butter are always an EVENT it becomes pretty sluggish.

I feel like this just further proves that Sega is like Nintendo, they aren't afraid to make mistakes.

Nintendo just knows how to gamble better I guess.

Ya I had no idea what was going on as a kid in WarioLand, if the box art showed how he transforms I think I'd have been better off so I vote Europe.

I loved impossible lair, I remember feeling guilty getting it for $4 because it was so well done. It was a game I really didn't want to finish because I didn't want it to end.

The first game never clicked with me. I got like 5 hours in, which I think is a reasonable amount of time and just kind of walked away, I know I won't be picking up the remaster. Please make more impossible lair games!

Not sure if my phone was just glitching but I couldn't put more than one in. Either way, I've had the COVID since Wednesday and next week is start off finals so I've been busy. So somehow more casual like Tears of the Kingdom came back, and I've been having a great time. Especially being sick, it makes you forget how crummy you feel.

I'm also playing a Link Between Worlds during the week, but I doubt I'll touch it this weekend, since I'm so crammed.

I wish I felt the spark of joy with this game and Mario kart that I felt years ago. The games are bomb but I don't know if I've just moved on or if the games have just worn out for me.

Man I've only played 2 of the games on the list, Echoes of wisdom, and Sonic x shadow generations.

So I skipped out on Kid Icurus Uprising because I was told like a year ago no way they don't port it and the 3DS controls are bad.

I would like it to happen please.

@Asantos that is the best GameBoy game, I go back all the time. I recently got a super Gameboy and love playing it with it's enhancements.

@Not_Soos as a kid I loved all those shows and franchises and still do for nostalgia, but my wife a few of our friends also didn't so it does come off as a "had to be there" kind of scenerio.

That being said I love Sonic, love transformers, but these are bad. It's like combining jello and garlic bread, bad idea.

It is disappointing that I can't just cut my children loose to window shop on the vanilla e-shop. I don't know about parental controls (my kids are 2 and 8 months so no need to do that yet.) But I'd rather it not come down to parental controls since I'm a parent and don't want to see any of that myself either.
