Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Upcoming Switch Games

Man I hope MP4 is something I'd like. I love the sidescroller metroids but the 3D I've never really enjoyed, I liked watching my brother play them grow up, but thats about it. Also I really really hope the new pokemon is good, I miss looking forward to their releases, they have just been hard to believe in.

Otherwise I might pick up DK, I never got returns before, I almost did on 3DS. I'll wait for the review to see which system it'd be better to get it on.

Re: Anniversary: The Legend Of Zelda: The Minish Cap Turns 20 Today

In high school I wanted to revisit the game and picked up a cart and about 5 years ago I learned it was a fake. I got a legit copy sometime within the last year and stopped in the graveyard section of the game. Just kinda lost interest.

I have a hard time ranking it high on my lists because of all of the silly fetch quests, which is also part of the reason why I stopped in the graveyard. You go to Dampe to get a key, you get the key, a bird steals the key, Dampe tells you to go get the key, you retrieve the key within seconds from the bird and then turn around to give the key back to Dampe so he can open the gate.

Why did he give it to you then?? What was the point of all that?

It's stuff like that just feels like padding that really rubs me poorly in the game. I loved it as a lad, but find it difficult to revisit, even though I do love the overall narrative (no spoilers here), art style, core mechanics and dungeon themes. It just feels like they had enough ideas for a 8 hour game and really wanted it to land in the 20 hours instead.

Not a bad Zelda by any means, just wouldn't recommend it before other giants like A Link Between Worlds.

Not to get too churchie on a video game website, but it reminds me of the parable of the laborers in the vineyard where people who worked all day were paid the same as those who only worked an hour and those that worked all day were upset about it.

I didn't get it right away because I didn't see the value in it. I think in both situations early adopters and people that worked at the beginning of the day are reasonably upset, but that's what those early birds signed up for.

I'm grateful as a late adopter of the NSO+Expansion pack I don't have to pay more than those who paid day 1. For me it's been worth it, library was great when I came in and I still pay the same as those first people when the library wasn't as flushed out. I'm also grateful that there's no penalty for being a late adopter.

Re: The Plucky Squire Lands New Update On Switch, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Thank you for letting us know about the update!

I've said this was my most anticipated game of the year but held off on getting it after the review. I normally don't think performance and stuff bothers me but It takes 2 on Switch to me was rather unplayable and I ended up just borrowing a friend's old PS4 to play it.

Plucky Squire I truly want to own. Hopefully it keeps getting better. Please let us know if it keeps getting patched up!

I think that the NSO+Expansion Pack family plan is a total value for me. We split it 8 ways so it's only $10 a year and it's pretty much a means of me trying out a lot of legendary games I've never touched, legally and pretty cost effective as well, to help me decide if I want to pick em up physically.

Without it I'd never have tried earthbound, the Donkey Kong Country games, gun star heroes, Beyond Oasis, Star Fox on SNES, Pilot Wings, Demons Crest, Shinobi, Contra, and thats all just in SNES and Genesis!

I also am not in love with N64 and already have the Zelda games on GameCube and 3DS so this is just a nice addition for me to try stuff out.

I hated NSO at first but once I got the family plan and reframed my mindset I've loved it, I wouldn't want to go back to buying the classics every console generation again.

Don't get me wrong if they'd offer it, I'm faithful to a fault and would totally buy Majora's Mask and Super Metroid and the like, and I would love more megamans and castvanias but with what we have I'm pretty pleased.

I'm excited for whatever they are planning to add, I'm not sure they are teasing anything crazy but I'm still looking forward to it.
