@Metazoxan I appreciate the conversation, I did play DKB. I had a friend lend me the virtual game card for a few weeks and did enjoy it, but was able to get through it in the trial period. I did play the demo for Kirby Air Riders and other than being able to kick other people off their machines I felt like it was just an HD polish of the original, which don't get me wrong I loved, but don't feel like I need to buy the new one because of that.

I also have Prime 4 and it's just been pretty disappointing so far as far as hand holding and the like. It looks fantastic but hasn't been as fun as the Prime Remaster.

Having the GameCube games has been a plus though, which I do forget wouldn't be available to me on the original Switch, so it does have that going for it

The only game store I frequent is Game Smash, a local retro store. They actually got me into retro games over 15 years ago! But they have plenty of switch games too.

Last time I went to GameStop was for the late night launch for Tears of the Kingdom. I honestly look back on it with a lot of fondness, but I agree with what others have also said, it's hardly a game store anymore. Sad but true.

@Nep-Nep-Freak that's part of the reason why when I found a good deal on a second hand one a scooped it up.

Honestly switch 2 hasn't been a worth while investment for me yet. I bought it out of fear of a price hike and FOMO, which is also fear and haven't been very happy.

I don't think I'd recommend making decisions out of fear. I know why I did it but as of now it's felt like a waste :/

@KayFiOS I mention this everywhere it comes up, I have an oled and the blaster VR works just fine. So the labor works just fine with oleds. I don't have a side by side to see if it's better with the original, but I know for a fact it works.

I love my Virtual Boy. I only have red alarm, warioland, Mario tennis and jack bros. Which is pretty much cream of the crop. It's a great console so glad it's finally getting some official preservation efforts.

I'm cool if vouchers go away cuz I never used them, I do miss the gold system though. I really hope they give some other discount/ rewards program.

I'd be interested in seeing what these looks like outside of promotional material.

I remember this game having some cool pre rendered cut scenes but didn't understand the gameplay as a kid.

I picked up a switch 2 off marketplace for $330 no games but hey like $150 cheaper! I felt really happy to finally not have the FOMO but so far has not been a worth while investment prime 4 so far is pretty bad, especially coming hot off of the prime remaster.

DK Bananza is a treat but I had a friend lend it to me so I didn't have to buy it.

If anyone is on the fence I say wait. I usually wait for a new Zelda and I wish I did this time too.

I still feel like the Mario plushies are weird. Like I love Mario and stuff but don't really want my kids like cuddling with those. Yoshi, koroks those kinda things are fine but this is like a cartoon of a mustached man haha.

Perhaps I've over thought it but I can't un think it.

@foursider anytime I see something like that now a days the internals didn't look nearly as fun. Like the PCBs are covered in plastic and the batteries, or shielding.

Don't get me wrong I would take it over the vanilla colors we get, I just felt like it was worth mentioning it's not as fun to look inside as it was back in the day.

I love the d pad being interchangable, but they do look a lil squishy. Like not sure if it'll be any better for precise platforming.

@Grumblevolcano I would love that. Me and a friend in college talked about that exact concept once, expect for the original switch at the time.

@Exerion76 Man I finally picked up uprising like a year ago and totally worth the hype. I would also love a higher res port or even better a sequel.

My only defense for the 3DS version is that the 3D used in the game is one of the best for the system. It would be a shame if they port it and all those crazy 3D effects will be lost.

I loved dig and I love physical releases, I've never bought any limited run stuff, but I'm grateful to be advised that this is even happening.

I'll also mention here, not sure if anyone else loved Sabotage Studios The Messenger but I was hunting a physical copy for a while and finally got one for like $60 about a year ago since they were limited run releases, but then I was on Amazon like 2 months ago and now it just has a standard release!

So that was exciting for anyone who was like me and wanted a physical copy. Not sure how common that happens with just any games, but it happened with one I care about. Also if I recall brand new from Amazon it was $30 USD.

@topher6490 appreciate the honest review, I was starting to want to try out both of these and am now gonna save myself the money.

I got no source for this but it was either this year or last year an outlet was interviewing Eiji Aonuma about the Zelda 40th anniversary and an Ocarina of Time remake or rerelease and Aonuma has a bit of a history of letting things slip, and he got pretty awkward, so I'm hoping for something in that vein next year.

The only other time the comes to mind for reference is when talking about a Zelda lead Zelda game he got awkward and was like that would be really cool, not sure how we'd pull it off though, and then like 4 months later Echoes of Wisdom was announced.

@Sambuc I've never played a Pikmin. Nerrel recommended that 3 is the best entry point do you agree? He also recommended picking it up on wiiu, which I love. Any opinion there?

@tameshiyaku I agree but joy con 2 sticks are not as friendly in the 2D space as the original joy con. Which is easily fixed when playing docked.

That being said as a hardcore retro gamer, I do miss me a good d pad.

I didn't see it mentioned but felt like it was worth noting that there will be 5 winners. I've never won a sweepstakes, giveaway, or a raffle so I'd be stoked to finally see one come through.

I'm currently finishing up prime remaster, 2 more artifacts, then I'm diving right into 4.

Well my Wii games, digitally speaking, are trapped on my Wii or WiiU and don't travel to the switch.

I was just saying if my digital purchases continued, no matter the console generation, I'd be more for buying digital but I don't like that the live on the system I bought them.

But I agree given all the dirt it kicked up I think it made it pretty clear I don't think I know what I'm talking about.

@Shhh that is true but again needing to be on that hardware rather than just on switch does make it not as accessable. As someone who plays WiiU and 3DS near daily I'm familiar. Just pointing out that for me I don't like digital for those reasons.

@Pillowpants other than I like being able to tangibly hold my purchases, I think Nintendo has made it difficult to feel confident that we won't just lose all our purchases when the next gen comes, or have to pay for an upgrade. IE 3DS or Wii to WiiU.

Whereas Steam has made it clear that your purchases aren't going anywhere. So yes the fans have blame but so does the company.

@LastFootnote ya that's what I mean though, I only have the blaster lobo but it looks fine to me? Same ol VR. I never got to do a side by side since I sold my OG switch almost immediately after getting my OLED.

@LastFootnote I too have that question but I gotta ask, and maybe I misunderstood your comment but I hear a lot that labo doesn't work on the OLED but I've used it plenty and maybe I'm just blind to the difference but it looks and runs just fine for me.

Ya if they want to do a remake, I can handle that, like that's fine, but I just want an easy way to play the classic on the big screen.

I was cheap and picked up a CIB DS version earlier this year and can't get through it. My wife is always way more invested in RPGs and actually reads, so it would be nice to have an easy way to play it on the big screen.

Or I just need to save up for a SNES copy.

@slowpoke_tail same, I've played that title dozens of times. I too was excited to see it so high, and if I recall right it was one of 2 3DS games on the list.

I had age of calamity and best it but didn't like it. Knowing it's cannon makes me want to try it but I'll probably pick it up second hand at some point.

@Stormkyleis it was the scariest thing as a kid trying to get to pokemon center where there was an NPC turning back and forth and you just wanted to run past them! Haha. Good times.

@Anti-Matter dude I had the same experience but when I got 3D all stars it totally changed my perspective.

I'm lefty so the Wii years were a little cruel to me, and having a standard button layout made all the difference in the world in that game.

I never picked up home circuit. Every once and while I see one and wonder if I'd have a good time now that I'm in a house but eh, for now Im good.

Ya Disney Afternoon Collection is the only reason I took a PS4 when it was offered to me. I also got to pick up symphony of the night there too. If those ever get ported to switch they will get a ton more hours from me.
